Entrance to the beach is at 33, 42 - behind and to the right (if looking at the map) to Voltarus.

Grab an abomination, use the abomination to gather a bunch of trolls up, and explode the abomination on the mobs. If your abomination dies to despawns due to going out of range, all of the mobs that were on it will attack you.

For every 20 trolls you kill, a chieftan will appear.

I had some issues doing this quest at first, but I've noticed two important things.

It appears you need to have the abom melee hit each troll before blowing up, or else you might not get credit.

You can buff and heal your abom if you are playing a class that can do that.

Also it seemed to me that you need to blow your abom up right after using the knockdown ability to get a credit.

Took me ^&*!load of tries and lots of trolls to complete this quest.

My observations while doing this quest:

Buffing or healing the abom didn't seem to impact getting credit.

The single strongest indicator of whether credit was given was staying close to your abom. Sure, it stays under your control, but once it's past some range (I dunno, maybe the range of the Scepter), it seems to quit being properly associated to you for quest credit purposes.

Also, I had best success taking out small clumps of aboms, three to six roughly. Sure, I could collect up more, but it seemed like it just gave it more opportunities to disassociate me from my abom's kills.

If you're a tank or class that can round up a lot of them easily, set abom on passive and follow. Stun, explode. Boom!

Also, if you get a warning about the disguise falling, you can use the abom explosion to catapult yourself ;)

A really good tip is to two man this(larger groups just make it easier so go for it) one will be a tank, the other just a dude who controls the Aboms. Have the tank run through the camp and kite a good number around, my pally was able to get on average 12 at a time, and after holding them for a second, the guy controlling the abom runs in and detonates, getting all 12 at once. Makes the quest MUCH easier and faster for the people in the group.

Also just a fair caution, ive noticed that the mobs that the abomination picks up randomly aggros you for no reason from time to time. Sometimes just one, and sometimes 3 or 4. O_o So keep that in mind if your a low armor class, as this can be a pain at times.

As far as i can tell, you need to be real close to the abomination before you use the stick, much closer then it's range is, so you to get the credits.

The trick is to make sure your abomination is not moving at all when you explode it.
Once i figured this out, turned into a fun and easy quest.

A good idea can be to bodypull a couple of trolls onto yourself (note that using offensive abilities will break the costume), keep yourself alive with whatever you can (Manashield, hots, defstance, whatever) and then have the mob go boom on them.

Should speed it up a bit.

Also, for those of you that haven't figured it out, the AOE (not explode) ability of the abomination is very useful for reducing damage taken and keeping the mobs from resetting. Happy hunting.

If you're body pulling trolls, you can bandage and eat without breaking the diguise.

Death Knights can Bone Shield and Icebound Fortitude as well, probably the same for other class self buffs to reduce damage.

This quest is pure &*!@. End of story - the mobs wont count, the MC'd mobs are bugged and have no bar, there's is NOTHING that actually WORK. Don't reply with "well it works here", because it doesn't here, so sod off.. Seems as if many of the quests in Zul'Drak have the same *!@#ty problem..

Ok. Suit up in your zombie costume. The ramp you wanna be at is around 32,39 for the bloated abominations. Use your scepter to make them your pet.
Now the only way to do this quest in any reasonable amount of time, is to have your abomination try to aggro as many of the trolls as possible. Watch out though because if your abomination dies, you will have a crew of angry trolls comin to kick your ass!
Click on one troll, hit your attack button on the pet bar, then go after another. Soon you'll have a train going.
Now before your abomination dies, click the button that will make him do his explode ability. That will kill him and any troll nearby him instantly.
It's a pain in the ass because at any time during this whole controlling thing your suit can break, so be aware of that.

This quest is quite annoying. Seems to randomly give you credit sometimes and sometimes not. I've tried several methods and there doesn't seem to be any "right" way to get credit all the time. Took forever, considered dropping but the next step has pretty good rewards.

What I've found is that the knockback of the explode skill from abominations make you lose the credit (you need to be on range of the dying mobs, and they take 1 or 2 seconds to die after you've been knockbacked). So this is what I did. First of all, put zombie costume and get your abomination pet (you don't get credit if you aren't zombie, checked).

1) There's a route that you might want to follow. You start at the fire in 35,38, then go to the fire to the northeast. After that, you go straight to the southern fire. Once there, go west. That's the route you gonna do with each abomination. If you are lucky, you'll catch the respawns (they do respawn fast). If you end up with just a few, doesn't matter. You'll have respawns latter then, you don't wanna risk your pet dying too soon.

2) So you are in the fourth fire. Now to the west/bit south there's a corner. You gonna run there with your pet. Make sure you keep those trolls tagged. When you get to the corner, stick your ass to it, wait until trolls come to your pet, do the stun and inmediately explode. If everything goes good, you won't get knockbacked, and the mobs will die in the place, giving you full credit.

It worked flawlessly for me, so if you're having troubles with the quest, give it a try, I hope this can help more people.

This quest is annoying and 60 is way too many to kill. The worse case: if a troll just respawns besides you and attack you, odds are it will break your disguise easily then your pet will disappear and all trolls turn to chase you...

I signed up for an account just to post what I figured out based on the above information.

1. Your abomination needs to melee each mob at least once.
2. You must use your Abomination's Flatulate on each mob.

Afterward just explode them. I did it 5 at a time without missing any credit once i figured this out.

Overall this the worst quest in the Darkuru achievement. Take your time and hit every mob and use the flatulate. Enjoy!

Not sure if it made the difference or not, because I was following most of the other advice in here to make sure I got credit, but as a mage I turned on molten armor, set the abom to passive, and ran slightly ahead of him while spamming flatulate, so that I myself would tag the trolls when they got hit from the armor proc. Once i started doing that it worked very well for me, pulling 10-15 trolls at a time. I'm sure other things such as thorns or ret aura would have a similar effect.

Just my experience. Fun quest.

I run around body pulling everything with abom following on passive. I had abom targeted so i would heal him if he got low on health, and shift heal (self cast) if I got low.

Would round up about 15-20 at a time, farting every 5 mobs or so, and when it got too many to handle i would have him do one final fart, and then expload. Took about 10 mins for first 5, and then about 3 minutes for the other 55 once i got the hang of the quest

Another awful quest in Zul'drak. I could have soloed the 60 trolls the old fashioned way but I'm stuck using this dumb abomination instead. and it takes 4 times as long to do it.

It takes some time to complete this quest.
Not one for the impatient, but eventually I completed the quest chain and finished my achievement Guru of Drakuru.

This whole quest chain takes some thinking and reading of the quests, I enjoyed doing this as it had a challenging difficulty and takes some skill to complete.
Be patient and you'll complete this quest :)

it's a good idea to use Flatulate when you see alot of mobs chasing another player...
then they will all go on your abom and you can explode them.. i think i got around 10 mobs just on one abom that way..

I found 2 fancy things about this quest.

1. You get credit from even tagged trolls if the explosion kills them.
2. Blowing up the abomination next to a other player sends him up to the air and deals fall damage, so throwing them towards the downhill could increase their repair bill.

Keep in mind that using knockback and blowing up before they stand up does not do anything to the trolls, just results into bunch of trolls chasing you.

I have real problems with this quest. Enslaving the abom is fine, what I have issues with is the bloody speed it runs and the distance at which it despawns.

I enslave the abom, it WALKS towards me at the speed of a dying snail. I run into the enclave area to get to troll killing. I turn around, only to see that the abom has turned around, wandered off out of range of me and despawned. Great.

As my server is so busy (Aggramar EU; we have serious overcrowding problems) there are rarely other aboms to control if the one you snagged despawned.

I have only abandoned two quests so far in Northrend, and this is one of them (the other is the Dragonblight quest to get cultist costumes).

Well this quest induced me to post my first few lines of nerd rage. Good game Blizz, after this quest being bugged since at least mid-August judging by the wowhead posts, you still have not fixed it. After attempting this quest for a few minutes, and consulting the above comments, I finally figured out that you must kill exactly 3 trolls. So basically don't be stubborn like me, and waste your time. Even by pulling exactly 3 trolls at a time it's just not worth it. Just do the quest line until this one, and then move on.

Easy as 1 2 3

1 make a macro : /petattack, then put it somewhere on your action bar.

2 Select trolls... have your pet attack it with the macro. Don't bother killing it.. just have your pet attack it once to get agro. Gather every troll you can this way.

3 Use Flatulate often to keep the trolls from grouping up on your abomination. As long as you use that ability you can easily gather 20 trolls at a time. When you have enough.. use Burst at the Seams. Tadaaaaaa finished.

Did this quest on 2 characters now. Both times it took me over 30 min.

Here are the strategies that I tried and which are NOT working reliably:

Blow up mobs near "gong"
Use aoe stun and then blow up immediately
Don't use aoe stun
Take control of abomination initialy when standing close to it
Let abomination get 1 melee hit on each mob

But by the end of this hour I noticed the following: you need to be close to abomination when it blows mobs
AND
To stay close you need to position yourself near a fence or mountain to avoid knockback

If this wasnt part of a chain that leads to an achievement, I would've passed on this one.

I ended up detonating the abom early a few times, because a player decided it would be fun to try and explode the trolls I had tagged, as well as giving me knockback damage.

I was getting 4-6 each time (generally, i'd keep going until the abom was about to die).

Also, some people seem to believe you can only get 3 trolls with one explosion. (someone tried to tell me this in-game) This is false.

The quest reward here is nice which is what you should focus on while you spend A LOT OF TIME doing this quest. I kept not getting credit, I had done it before with similar experiences and this is a very annoying, frustrating quest. I found that yes you need to keep him still, fart a lot and kill about 4 at a time. If i pulled more than that i would not get credit.

I would suggest this is bugged in some regard, but suck it up and get through it.

A hint to all the hunters doing this quest, use your aspect of the pack whilst doing the quest, your abomination will be running faster and he is immune to the slowing effect you usually get if u take any damage with that aspect.

And to you complaining about not getting any credits for the kills, just stay close enough to the abomination, tag 1 mob with the abomination with just attacking it once, take the abomination to the next mob and do the same, collect as many as you can before the abominations health is too low, and just make it explode. Took me about 5mins to do it.

Just a few tips on how to get credit every time for this quest.

1. ALWAYS stay by your Abom. If you stray too far from it, you will not receive credit for kills.
2. Do not change your Abom's react-type (Aggressive, Defensive, Passive) AFTER you have pulled mobs as it will also prevent you from getting credit for some reason.
3. I'm not completely sure on this one, but it seems that if you forget to put you Abom on Passive before entering combat and it attacks a mob and you force it to switch targets, you will not receive credit for kills.

This quest is very iffy and you shouldn't take my tips as if they are written in stone. However, as general rules you should always stay by your Abom and put it on Passive while you round up the mobs. My success rate jumped when I followed the tips here, and it can never hurt to try them out for yourself if you are having trouble getting credit. ^^

The abominations are down in a small valley below the scourge village, and wll turn green for you once you use the disguise (they will attack you if you are not in disguise) find one near the gateway to the village (top of the abomination valley), use the scepter, and he'll follow you anywhere. You will have a "pet bar" to assign targets and actions for your new friend.

I found it best to keep the mobs reasonable. I would target the nearest scourge mob, hit the pet "attack", once the abom was holding aggro, I'd (quickly) select another mob in line with my minion and select the attack button again (the red claws), which would aggro the mobs between my minion and the target. then id blow up my minion. It is effective if the second/third selected mob makes your minion run through other groups, because they will aggro him. Be careful not to pick up too many, though or you will find they kill him very quickly.

So, when the abomination has 10-12 mobs, blow him up, then go get another one and repeat. There is a stone wall to the left as you head towards the abominations. I found this to be a 'safe zone' where I could reset the disguise between rounds.

I had no major problems doing this quest tonight. It did take a couple of tries to get the hang of it. I gathered 7-10 mobs at a time, flatulated, and waited for them to get up before bursting. The whole thing took about 10 minutes from first death to finish. Don't skip this quest. The rest of the chain is well worth the final reward.

If you're a warlock, you can health funnel the abomination. Makes it even easier to grab a large group before blowing up.

My $0.02. Skip this quest unless you just have hours to kill. Trying it for the 2nd time now (did it on druid and now priest). All of the suggestions above seem just coincidence to work. I tried with just 3 trolls. Got no credit. Tried with me standing ON the abomination, no credit. Can't get much closer than that. In over 20 abominations, I got credit for 22 ghouls. I got 5 at once twice. I got 0 credit more times than I care to count. Going to log a complaint with Blizzard and move on.

This whole zone is so annoying, And this quest is unbelievably bad XP/Hour. 20k not nearly enough, zero xp for any kills done.

However, If you can't resist doing the quest, I found that this strategy works well.

Set the Abomb to passive on follow all the time, you lead the way and fart to take agro, when abombs health is getting low just blow.

If u click ur explosion button on the Abomination more than once u wont get credit for it, just click it ONCE and u will get credit for it ;D

Ok. I think a lot of people are posting because they're frustrated and not reading everything that's here. I had killed about 20 mobs and had only gotten credit for half of them. I was having him melee some, explode right away, using both together and still didn't work. So I knew I was doing something wrong. After reading here I finished the quest in 3 minutes. What you need to do:

1. Do not change your pet's status. (Agressive, Passive...)
2. You can gather up as many mobs as your pet can get before you blow it up.
3. You only need to be close to your pet when you blow it up. I would say it's 20 yards. The best way to gauge that is to see the max range for taming one. It's the same distance you can be away when you use Burst at the Seams.
4. Also, when you're rounding them up, do not let it get really far away or it will despawn.
5. In order to get credit they seem to have to have the Flatulate debuff on them, but not be stunned. Which just requires watching and getting the timing down.
6. When you go to kill your collected mobs, you must be in the ghoul disguise.

What I did was tell it to attack a mob and along the way spammed Flatulate every time it was up to agrro as much as I could. There are several large groups that work well. I even healed him a few times to keep him up longer (I'm a Druid). Once he had a group on him and his health was going down I would run into about 15 yards away from him or a little closer. Then I used Flatulate, waited the 1 second for them to get up and hit Burst at the Seams when Flatulate was about to drop off. When I did all that, I could easily kill 8-12 at a time.

I hope this helps to condense everything posted here so far and get you the achievement.

I've encountered another problem during this quest. Unlike what Cactuar explained, I had to explode my abomination while the trolls was effected by flatulate. This it took a while to realise, so I used ages during this quest.
Actually got a bit mad in the end, since I think it is a good idea, and good gameplay, and then they've sucked at making the mechanics this bad.

This is not a very fun quest, this.

Most of the time it just simply fails, and the other time it's just not worth the trouble. It's too slow and boring to send out the abomination. Sure it was fun the first time, but it doesn't last through 8 fails per 1 success.

Seems there's a decent necklace at it for you if you can be arsed to do this quest and the follow ups, but frankly I rather skip the necklace than get !@#$ed off at a quest. (And frankly the quest also sucks for your avarage exp/time ratio, so it sucks for leveling, too. Epic fail of a quest, in total.)

I've done this 3 times now, on different characters. The first 2 times were troublesome, but now I've developed a theory about the missing credit issue, which helped greatly.

The theory is simply this: you're much more likely to miss out on credit if you spam the Burst at the Seams button, especially on high latency connections. If you press the button once and only once, and are not too far away from your Abom, you're more likely to get credit -- even if you get knocked back some distance. If you're like me, you're inclined to madly spam skills in the hope of getting them exactly when the cooldown is up. Don't do it for this question, though, it seems to cause issues.

Curiously enough, this is also a work around to a bug in the Gymer quest. In that quest, if you press the button to pick up lightning spheres only once, you're much more likely to eat it for health, rather than just grabbing it uselessly.

EDIT: Just tried again, with the same result... As people in this thread have said before and since, the only thing you need to do to get 100% credit is resist spamming the buttons. Hit Burst at the Seams only once; distance, knockback, quantities of trolls, etc, is irrelevant. I suspect this is actually a bug in bartender, and perhaps some other addons as well, which is why it's never been addressed, and why people have reported it working fine with addons turned off.

Whenever i used the quest item on an Abomonation, it turned green then automatically despawned. When i put on the disguise, it worked without problems. So if you are experiencing this, you must be wearing the Scourge Disguise(Ensorcelled Choker) quest item.

ok I think I got it heh, It seems to me after trying all the things said that there are timers that are put on mobs when you kill them using your pet. And the timer doesnt go away when the mobs respawn.... I couldnt get above 21 kills, then I im like wtf... went and made a potpie came back, read some of the patch notes, tried again... got up to 45 in one pull... Im going to guess that there is a timer either on the mobs or on the pet, I dont know. waiting seems to help :\

Stupid buggy quest. The things said above are mostly good suggestions. Stay close, don't try to get too many trolls at once, use flatulate and wait for them to recover, etc.

However, there's no 'guaranteed' way of not having trolls not get counted, seemingly at random. Expect to have to kill way more than 60.

Okay, here's a really clear guide if u can handle some damage!
Tame the abomination, then u set it to "passive"
Then u start running around the camp and aggro trolls, if u are geared u can actually manage to tap all the mobs in the camp - as I managed to do.
The thing is; for this to work, u will have to remember the shortcut: ctrl+4 = aoestunpushback! - While u are running around aggroing, make sure to use the abominations aoestunpushback spell properly (it has only 5 sec cd) so it means often - You shoud be running all the time doing this process, so shortcut to aboaoestunpushback comes handy as u should use it when u can, this way u will survive easily, I actually think everyone can manage to do this, since the trolls will get pushed away repeatedly. At last gather them up, and - Kaboom! <3

*EDIT* forgot about one thing, which wasn't any problem for me - the crdit for kill problem, it happened to me once, seems to be random, but with my tactic it shouldn't be any prob cause the quest only takes bout 10min, since u pull so many at the time ;)

As a Mage.. use mana shield constantly til you hit zero mana while rounding up as many as you can (Ice Armor also helps due to slowing them down) then when you have no more mana, use Aboms flatulate to gain aggro to him til he's close to death then explode.. this way you should be able to gather a crap load of them at once.

Really frustrating quest. I found the only way to reliably progress is to limit yourself to exploding 4 trolls, and standing almost inside the explosion radius. This means atleast 15 abominations if you want to play it safe. It takes forever but atleast you get a reliable credit for it. I did get credited with 11 on the first explosion, but after that I couldn't get above 4.

I can't believe this made it past the beta, it's a really great idea for a quest but it really doesn't work.

A smart way to kill many Skullcrushers is to aggro as many as possible and use the "Burst at the Seams" spell that your abomination has. If you aggro like 10 skullcrushers, use the spell, and all die at once.

This quest is really quite fun once you get the hang of it, i did what a few people suggested. I put my abomination on passive, ran around and pulled heaps, continually making my abomination to fart to keep them following, and then when i had a nice number i blew them up. Only took me 3-4 round ups once I figured it out and read some comments on here. As a ret pally it was fairly easy cos i have relatively high armor and also ret aura, not sure if that worked to tag them but that's what i did anyway. But once you figure it out its not the worst quest in wotlk, its good fun blowing em up, and its part of the drakuru storyline and achievement anyways.

Before you QQ about this quest, please read what others have suggested, mainly click the Seams button only ONCE.

I've just done this quest a 2nd time, and it works fine as long as you don't spam that button. Works whether you pull 3 or 10 mobs.

And of course, wait until all the Trolls aren't stunned anymore before you use Seams.

So I have finally figured out reliably what the problem with this quest is. As predicted, the problem comes when you get too far away from your abomination, after which you can no longer get credit for trolls he blows up. But the distance it takes to dissociate from your pet doesn't just occur as you are commanding him around the zone, it can also occur when you first take control of him. So if you are too far away from him when you first mind control him, you will never be able to get credit for any of his kills even before you get any control at all!

The workaround is to stand literally on top of an abomination when taking command of it, and never letting him get more than about 3 yards away from you the entire time you use him. I just ran inside of him the whole time, and using this method I was able to consistently get very large numbers of trolls and credit every time. I hope this helps!

I was having the same problem which people discribe here, not getting credit for the kills. And I think I can add to the discussion above.

When you gather the mobs and you want to blow them up, DO NOT click the explode skill more than once (or use the keybinding if have it keybound). When you spam click it you cause the abo to blow up twice and bug the kills.

I didn't have proper amount of tries to verify this 100% but worked for me. If someone could try it and post here if it worked for him aswell. I'd save a lot of troubles.

This quest (and one very similar to it in Icecrown) is still buggy. I literally can't believe Blizzard hasn't fixed it yet.

I have read through the suggestions on how to get credit and none of them work 100% of the time. I have been in close proximity and received no credit and been 40 yards away and have received credit. I have used the Abom to melee pull each mob, and just used the knockback to pull them.

It seems to me that the bug is entirely random. If you don't care about a eventual blue quest reward or getting the quest achievement for the zone I highly recommend simply skipping this quest.

If I had a suggestion to Blizzard it would be: If you can't fix the mechanic, then take it out of the game and just make the quest different.

Edit: Upon further testing, this actually appears to be the best solution:

Thank you very much for this, who would have known that the most counter-intuitive guess would have been the correct one. I naturally tried to stand on top of the abom because being out of range for credit would be the more obvious guess for this bug. I'd vent in guild chat about this being the worst quest in the game, and of course I'd get useless suggestions of "lol dont fart before u explode". Naturally most other people did the quest with no problem at all.

I'm still amazed this bug has persisted to this day. It has seriously been in the game since it was first put into the beta (I even sent my own bug report specifically for it). So many quests with mind controlled mobs are bugged for pet classes :(
I did this on my rogue without any problems, but on my hunter I have to relog after every single blow, or it stops getting credit for them. Yes I'm standing in melee range on the stupid abomination. I tried killing only 3 at a time too, nope.

This is the same issue as the quest in Ice Crown. I guess the abominations quests just blow :P

I had no buggy problems with this quest, personally, but it was still a painfully slow process. I could reasonably collect about ten or twelve trolls at a time before my abom was near death, but the running back and forth just really drains at your patience.

The quest really could use a reduction from twenty per chief to ten.

FYI, I've heard from friends who had "bugging" problems with this quest that they were really going for broke on troll collection. They'd try and snag twenty at a time, and would frequently get no credit for the ones they exploded. I'd suggest stopping when you get to about ten trolls around your abomination (which, really, is usually about as many as you can collect before the meatbag is near death anyway).

As a Warlock, I put my disguise on, summoned my voidwalker, sacrificed then quickly tamed an Abom. and body pulled.

When I had a lot of trolls on me I just had my abom explode.

Still bugged as of 3.1, doesn't matter how many you seem to aggro or whether you have the abom on passive or not, the majority of the time, you still end up with the same amount of troll kills as the last bout.

I was able to find a consistent method for getting credit by using some of the above comments.

1. MC and gather as usual
2. Follow your abom. closely, you may aggro some trolls but stick close to your abom.
3. When your abom. is low on life, use flatulence
4. Explode AFTER each and every single troll recovers from the flatulence ability. If there is even a single troll that is still in the stun animation, you won't get credit for any of them. As long as you're close to your abom., you should get credit.

It's sad to see so many people still having difficulty with this quest (i.e. not getting credit for kills). I've finally been able to do the quest after having abandoned it during beta testing and on 2 previous alts, and after trying some of the suggestions listed here (none of which worked for me).

Simply put, it occurred to me that since it's necessary to blow up the abomination to kill the trolls then the abomination itself must have as much health left as possible before exploding to do any kind of damage. Maybe I'm over-thinking things but picture if you will a firecracker and a stick of dynamite? Which would do the most damage upon exploding?

So, what I did was round-up about 8 or so trolls at a time (while staying nearby the action), use flatulate and wait for the trolls to get back up and then use burst on them---all the while making sure that the abomination's health never went below 33% (or as close as I could estimate by sight).

This worked like a charm and I finished the quest in no time flat.

I haven't seen anyone mention it, and I guess I just didn't read the quest-information thoroughly enough - but you have to be in disguise-mode in order to use the rod on the abominations. If you use the rod on them without being disguised, you'll get attacked by them.

95% certain there is no method to this madness. No matter what "techniques" or "tricks" I've used for this quest since WOTLK came out, I get mixed results and I think the final answer is that this quest was just designed like #$%^ and it doesn't work whenever the @#$% it feels like it. Just gather up 4-5 at a time and explode to save yourself the frustration of gathering up a lot only to get nothing. You might not get something when you only get 4-5 but it takes less of your time.

I've never actually posted on Wowhead, but this quest encouraged me to do so. I see a lot of people are having problems getting kill credit (as did I).

The trick is (well, this way I consistently got kill credit, anyway): round up some trolls by spamming Flatulate (not too many, a big group might kill your Abomination before you have a chance of exploding), and just before you plan to explode, position yourself between your Abomination and an object that would keep you from flying away. The little wooden barriers are ideal for this. Make sure you can't fly over the object you're hugging, wedge yourself in nice and tight while keeping close to your Abomination.
Since your Abomination will be on Passive status, and follows you around, it might be tricky to position yourself correctly, since your Abomination will most likely just go and stand next to you. Putting it on defensive mode (so that it stands still and tanks the trolls) helps here. Make sure you're standing right next to it as you explode, the wooden blockage should keep you from flying away, you stay right next to your Abomination and you should get credit for every kill.

I wasted 45 minutes on this quest before I found the way to do it, but beating the quest was SO worth it in the end.

I've found the following technique useful (yes, even if you're not a tank class):
1. Make your Abom attack the first mob you come across.
2. Once tagged, click on the next mob you want to attack.
3. Click on the Attack button.
4. As your Abom starts moving toward the next mob, hit the Fart button. This knocks down the first mob so you don't get hit while the Abom is moving from one mob to the other, which I found was the biggest drag on the Abom's hp.
5. Once the Abom tags the second mob, repeat steps 2 - 4 to tag more mobs.
6. Explode the Abom when you think it's about to die (1/4 health is a good indication).

With this technique, you can easily round up and kill groups of 8-10 trolls per Abom, even across "camps" since you don't get hit that much when moving from mob to mob.
Of course, if you're not a tank class, stay well away from the action to make sure you don't get sucked in!

All of the mobs are in range, I just don't get quest credit for the kills when my pet explodes. I've also gone down 50k xp per hour since starting this quest.

As of last patch this quest seems to be fixed, I've done it on four different characters till now each having a frustrating time, when I tried it on my warrior at the time of writing i have currently killed 36 trolls and got credit for all of them.

Okay, this quest was extremely bugged for me as far as kill counts go, but I THINK I figured it out because once I started using this strategy all kills counted without problems. Here's what I did.

Send your abomination at the trolls to round them up.
Use Flatulate and (here's the important part) WAIT for Flatulate to finish its cooldown completely, THEN hit Explode.

I don't know if that's the answer to the entire problem, but hitting explode after Flatulate finished its cooldown always counted the kills. Now we just need some confirmation.

When I did it last about half of the time I would get credit, tried several different tricks they all failed at least once. When the expansion first came out this quest worked fine, some patch must of broken something about it. If you really want to finish this chain just keep trying, it will eventually work!

Absolutely one of the worst bugged quests in existence right now. Not doing it will lock you out of an otherwise fun and rewarding quest chain. Doing it involves a handful of luck and a lot of patience. I've just blown up about 10 groups all in more or less the same manner, and it only registered kills for 2 explosions.

I've done this on my alt, so I know it can be accomplished... but it will take you probably the better part of an hour. I never found any "sweet spot" or special timing, it is purely luck. GG, Blizzard.

I am sure I am not the only one who has been frustrated while doing this quest. Like everyone else, I came here to look at what I was doing wrong! There are a lot of 'secrets' to this quest posted here, but none of them seem to work with any kind of repeatability. So I decided to ignore all of them, and I looked at this one from a WoW pet mechanics angle.

If your pet does 100% of the damage to a mob, you will not receive kill credit when they die. However, if you do some damage to the npc, or the npc instantly dies without taking any damage via a pet ability, you will get credit.

Since you can not attack the npcs without losing your disguise, and consequently your pet, you need to have them instantly killed with the ability that does no damage BUT will give you credit for the kill! So after trying every single 'secret way' to do this quest correctly, I simply put my pet on passive, ran in and grouped them up myself - DO NOT USE THE KNOCK DOWN ABILITY - and detonated the Abomination. Credit every single time~

Edit: MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE A DAMAGE SHIELD BUFF ON YOURSELF OR THE ABOMINATION.

I'm thinking that perhaps the reason that everyone has their own little "secret" that "makes" it work is because the quest randomly either does or doesn't reward credit in little strings. For instance, I thought the "gather them yourself" strategy worked, until I had a few more strings of no credits. It seems to me the credit may have nothing to do with anything we have control over.

This is just a stupid quest that everyone should abandon unless you're working towards completion achievements.
It's one of the most buggy quests i've come across on this game.
I've tried a couple methods, which involve
1. Using the abom itself to aggro a few (ranging between 1-6).
2. Putting the abom on passive and aggroing them myself (ranging between 1-6)

It seems the game just decides whether you should get credit or not, there are no secrets to completing this quest. Either you get credit or you don't, you just have to keep trying, in which case a quests mechanics which should only take 10 minutes will sometimes take twice or thrice that time, sometimes though, you will get lucky and get credit completely.

Here's the secret to getting the kills: You have to be close enough, but if you are too close you will get blown away by the blast and by the time they die (which is slightly later than the explosion) you will be flung away and not get credit. So basically, have him round up things, then make him come to you and then go to the other side of him (so that the ghouls are between you and him). Make sure you can see the enemy bars (press v if its not on), and try to get on the edge of the range of seeing the health bars (try to get as many as possible!) Explode. If you did it right you should not go flying anywhere, and the ghouls will. You will be within range of all of them (as long as you see theri health bars when they die, you are in range) and get credit.

This is one annoying quest. Go to 32:36 Frigid Breach and pick up your bloated guy then go into the troll area. I tried most the suggestions on this page nothing seemed to make that much of a difference. Number killed, bloat on passive etc, sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't.

However, I tried sending my guy in, as I picked up trolls I farted them down. Got about 8-10 of them, farted, and once they are up and attacking, explode. Got credit every time.

Oh, and be careful, if you get greedy and pick up to many trolls and let your fat guy die, they all run after you. Great fun.

This quest is still completely broken. I've used the abom as a tank. I've used myself as a tank. I've exploded immediately after flatulence, after waiting a few seconds after flatulence, and without using flatulence at all. I've exploded while standing far away, and while standing directly on top of the abom. Whether or not you actually get credit for your kills appears to be completely random. I've actually killed about 75 of the stupid things, but I've been stuck on 27 credits for my last three aboms.

EDIT: All told, it took me almost an hour to do this moronic quest. I got kill credit on less than half of the aboms I exploded.

I've done this quest five times and the first four times everything went smooth. Didn't have to do any "tricks" to get kills or anything. On the fifth time I wasn't so lucky. This time I am playing a warlock, who happens to have its own pet. Suddenly I only get credit for kills every three times or so, no matter what I do. Even when doing it the exact same way I've always done or trying some of the above mentioned tricks I have problems.

If you're a pet user, most of these quests will bug out in some way. No tricks worked for me, I just patiently had to redo this until I had my kills.

Here's what I did:

Took control over a Bloated Abomination at 32-41 (coords) in Zul'Drak.

Auto-attacked some Drakkari Skullcrusher (just above the zoombies).

When I had some Trolls on me, I used Flatulate to stun them.

When I had like 15 on me, I used Burst at the Seams, got the credit, and started it all over.

Do so a few times and you will be finished soon.
And don't worry if it seems like no Chieftains spawn; they do when you first kill 20, then 40, and last 60.

-using flatulate
-not using flatulate
-having initial aggro
-not having initial aggro
-letting the abo hit the mobs
-not letting the abo hit the mobs
-initially blowing up the abo near trolls
... and I got 0 kills so far. Any thinking about this quest is useless. It's just horribly bugged. I used all my options in any possible combination. After this I joined a warlock who was so mad about that that he grieved by killing all the abos whenever they spawned. So the other players couldn't control them. Of course they hated us for that but the quest isn't any better when speaking about hate.

Later you will receive a quest in Icecrown that uses the same abo with the same stupid problem and you know what ? It's a daylie. Hf.

Found a way that seems to work, here it goes:

1) Take control of your abomination
2) DO NOT change his stance, leave it on defensive.
3) Run and aggro some drakkari, this is the hardest part, make sure that the abomination does not hit them, so you'll be able to aggro 2-3 drakkari at time before abomination starts to hit one of them, group them and BOOM.

All the GMs told me that it was an issue with my UI and to delete my WTF.
I just backed up my files and removed them from the WoW/Data folder and started it up, still didnt work.

However what I found is YOU HAVE TO DO DAMAGE TO THEM.
Use the AoE knockdown to do some dmg, then BOOM!

Also, for the similar quest in Howling Fjord, take off your weapon as a melee and whack them (For both the application of the plague part and the abom blowing up part).

The 'pet' doesn't seem to have an attack range. Just pick the farther troll out and let your 'pet' aggro all of them on the way and then select trolls in the same area for the pet to attack. It took me 20 trolls to figure this out though.

Do not grab more than 6 trolls at a time. You can occasionally grab a 7th or 8th, but if you do the chances of getting credit are lowered.

I've discovered in the Icecrown version of this quest that mobs will only count if your abomination had 20% or less hp before exploding and if the mobs aren't stunned.

Probably it's the same as Zul'Drak's =).

I think I figured this quest out, but this quest seems to be strange enough that this might only work for me.

The key for me was the knockback that you get from the corpse explosion. I had to position myself in a way that the explosion doesn't knock me back too far to get credit. It seemed like the kill credit is given after the knockback, not before. Maybe it is also possible to stay out of the knockback range, I didn't try that one though.

Here's the strat i use, i've done this quest 5 times now...

Posses Abom

Ctrl 1 to a mob (attack) Flatulate when he mellee's, Ctrl 1 to next mob Flatulate, ctrl 1 next mob flatulate... so on and so forth till your aboms at about 4-5k hp... so about 12-15 mobs (depending on how well you timed your flatulate's) wait for them to start all attacking your abom.. and mouse click BURST AT SEAMS... once...

Rinse and repeat... its not a hard quest at all.. took me little under 5 minutes

Just did this quest again using my strat to start.. then i wanted to help these posts a little bit....

My suggestions... if your a healing class put abom on passive and collect them yourself... as a druid i could heal myself up (not in tree) to full without ever worrying about me dieing... they hit for... about 250~ on 50/50 leather/cloth... next... if your a tank put him on passive and gather them up... one of my friends was doing this quest just before i got there and he could pull alot.... like 20-30 each round... next tip would be, when you gather them yourself... use flatulence as much as you can, oh and dont click BURST AT SEAMS more than once... its still a lil buggy

the BEST way i have found that works is to NOT let the abom take a single point of damage at the same time keeping him fairly close to you (within range of the item you use to control them), at least on the big pulls it seems, when i do this one at a time it doesn't matter i get credit 90% of the time.. but 60 times... UHG anyways... give it a shot and let me know if you have the same results... basically you have to have aggro on every guy, dont fart... successful up to 7 mobs so far. immediately after posting i began to have problems :) hopefully im just screwing it up try blowing yourself the same direction as the trolls too.

I noticed one thing when I was doing this quest, as long as I physically hit a mob (stunning them was not enough) using with the Bloated Abomination (default: ctrl-1) I was credited for the kill, any untagged mobs I didn't get any kill credit for.

Most of the 'tips' above haven't really helped me. The only two things I've found consistently are:

1. Stay just outside the explosion range of your abomination, so you're close enough to get the credit, but will not get throw in the air yourself.
2. Only click the explode button once.

Oh, and shielding or healing your abomination lets you pick up a lot more trolls in one go.

Easiest Way to Do It:

I'm a level 75 prot warrior.

Step 1
Put Abomination on passive and follow mode.

Step 2
Run through all the mobs you can get before dying. Wait until you have like 1-2k hp left for the next step.

Step 3
Hit the abomination's Flatulate ability then hit the Burst at the Seams ability as soon as it is available.

Things to be aware of:
Make sure your abomination is close.
Make sure you don't die.
Make sure you hit Flatulate before you hit Burst at the Seams

So yeah, the key seems to be not spamming the blow up button.

I tried being far away, not having the abom hitting them, etc. As long as I didn't hit the boom button more than once, I got credit every single time.

Then I grabbed an abom and sent him to one troll, had him melee for a few seconds, then hit the burst button twice... got no credit.

Don't spam the button and you should be fine.

I had all the problems in the world while trying to do this quest! All but one tip worked when I was reading this page!

Press the explode button ONCE, and only ONCE!

I've done this quest line three times so far and every time this quest makes me frustrated because none of my kills would give me credit. Though when I found out that if you click the button once you will receive credit... I was ecstatic. =)

I think its not killing them by the bomb fires or or wait till they are unstunned, i really think you hafto to kill them by the torches all over the area i tried it 4 different times and it seems to work near the torches, long stick with flaming skulls i ,did it and it worked fine with me. But by the end of this hour I noticed the following: you need to be close to abomination when it blows mobs

To stay close you need to position yourself near a fence or mountain to avoid knockback

So after having done this quest four times and having read all the comments on this page several times I can say this is probably the most useful advice I found.

There's typically a slight delay between when the trolls die and when the game decides if you get credit for the kills or not. If you fly away from your abomination at full speed you probably won't get credit, but if you do something to just slow yourself down slightly you can get credit. I once put myself up against a fence that wasn't high enough and I flew over it, but it did take me a few tenths of a second longer to fly away than if I hadn't even tried and I successfully got credit for the kills.

TL;DR: pretend you're a tank and put your back up against something.

Aside from that, only click the button once and don't explode while the flatulate debuff is up, and you'll be fine.

100% BULLETPROOF STRATEGY
Okay, so this is how you do this insanely annoying quest:
Step 1: Gather 2-3 trolls
Step 2: Melee each one 2-3 times
Step 3: Cast Flatulate 2-3 times
Step 4: Wait a few seconds for the trolls to jump back up and cast Burst at the Seams, making sure you are only a few steps away from him.

I completed this quest in <10 min while using this strategy. I really hope it helps others :)

I just finished this on my third character and the only reliable way seems to be to melee each troll that you plan to blow up. If there's any trolls in the AoE that didn't get melee'd at least once by the abomination you won't get credit for any.

Let me know if it does not work for you. It worked for 5 out of 5 times after a very frustrating quest.

Grab your abom and head out to the trolls, pick the furthest one in a group and have your abom head to that one to attack.

I ran with my abom and let the other mobs aggro him or me, didn't matter.

When he got to the furthest mob i hit Flatuate once to make sure he took aggro of all the mobs hitting us.

Then i just stood there and waited... and waited... and waited.... watch his health drop, do not move, hopefully he doesn't move and wait.. then hit explode.

Seems like no matter what i did or how i did it, if I did not give this quest some time while trolls were hitting abom it would not count them. I've tried every which way of doing this and this is the only thing that worked 5 out of 5 times for me.

I have had the absolute worst luck with this quest, not to mention the "That's Abominable!" daily. The 100% absolute certain trick is to put your abom on "Stay" for about 5-10 sec as you run in and aggro, and while you're rounding them up, have your abom follow you. Then blow them up. It seems to me that your abom works as if someone not in your party tagged the mob, therefore you don't get credit if the trolls aggro your abom or your abom does any damage to them. Completely avoid this problem altogether by using this strat. Oh - and make sure your abom is on passive.

A way to get credit for the kill every time is:

Blow up the Abomination when the Abomination is UNDER 20% HP! not yours, but the Abomination itself. Go download addons that shows your pet HP%. Pull about 5-6, using the stun as much as you can while you pull them with your abomination (it can die fast when you try pulling too much, and they'll aggro on you and you'll probably die)

I asked a GM about it because of a similar quest in Icecrown (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=13289) and that's what I got as a response, and it has worked for me. Killed about 20 in about 3 pulls.

You do not have to be near any of the mobs as well.

But, because of the bad experience I had with this, I probably won't touch this quest again for a long time on my alts...

If you're an unholy dk with ghoul frenzy, i found that you can actually use this with the abom. Makes it pretty easy with your abom attacking faster and getting 60% of it's health back.

I have spent hours trying to work out why this quest never worked properly, and been checking here for months every time I've done the quest on alts.

For me, clicking the button once didn't work. However, as a shaman, apparently using Fire Nova does not break your disguise. So I used the abom to round up a load of mobs, dumped a fire totem and hit fire nova and then burst at the seams. Gave credit every time. So it appears as long as the player does damage to the mobs without breaking disguise it is guranteed to give credit. Else it seems to be random to me.

As of March 1st, 2010, this quest doesn't appear to be giving me credit for the kills, when I kill them with the abomination, or myself either way. Hopefully they'll fix this soon.

Here are my keys to this quest, they worked everytime and twice i got 6 of them.

1. Blow up the abomination in a open space. If the abomination blew up in the spot he was in without flying, i never got credit. Everytime he flew back and blew up, i got credit. I tried to fly back in the same direction as him, don't have to for credit, but found it worked best that way.

2. As stated before, be by him when you blow him up. I always stood behind him, not to close, but behind him.

3. Don't blow him up with a mob behind him, i found that sometimes he would blow up in place and i got no credit.

4. If there are mobs behind him, after he is attacking mobs, tell him to follow you (that way he comes towards you and the mobs will be behind him). Then have him attack a mob again and then blow him up (be behind him). I got 6 twice this way.

Alright, after blowing up 11 consecutive abominations and getting absolutely no credit, I finally figured out exactly what it is that causes you to get credit or not.

I tried everything else listed here: staying close to it, body pulling, getting hit with the explosion, not getting hit with the explosion, only clicking the attack once, none of it works. The Burst at the Seams attack does not say in the description, but it has a limit as to how many trolls you can blow up. Sure, it'll kill as many as you gather up, but you WILL NOT receive credit if you have too many trolls. After a bit of testing, the limit appears to be 10 trolls. If you round them up in groups of 10 or less, you'll get credit every time.

Id sprint in, pick some up, bring em back, no credit.
Fart on em, no credit.
even the ones fighting the Aboms right at the entrance, i control them and instantly split at seams, sometimes I get credit, sometimes I dont.

Being a newcomer to Northrend (this is my first time playing through it), I've enjoyed pretty much every quest I've done so far, being at level 77 now. Some were more annoying than others, but overall they were still enjoyable. This quest, however, is just sadistic. I want to punch out whoever at Blizzard designed this quest. It takes forever. I would have skipped it entirely if this wasn't my first time through Northrend. Seriously, what was Blizzard thinking with this quest?

ok i VERY rarely add a comment unless i think it will actually add tangible benefit to those doing it that just have to go to many comments before you get a cut and dry way to do it so hope this will help pull all these comments into 1 step by step comment.

first go to the Entrance to the beach at 33, 42 - behind and to the right (if looking at the map) to Voltarus.

if you have a pet dismiss it. (though i'd suggest putting summon/call pet on a hot button in case you lose your abom and get aggro)

eat any food that give you extra buff use a fortitude scroll etc

when u r buffed pet dismissed etc, get as close to the entrance to the camp as you can and look for a troll as far as you can see. remember where it is. (if u have a flying mount its great to fly over the camp and find a troll pref across the whole camp from the entrance)

put on costume

find an abom thats not fighting a troll closet to the entrance. use scepter to take control of it. look at the aboms bar which is in the place a pet or minion would be. the only buttons u will need to remember and use are (in order left to right) the claw (attack) and the the button to blow him up. thats all

after you have him remember where the troll you scout was and start targeting the troll the furthest away that you can see when u have targeted it, click the attack. this will send him in a straight line over anything to that troll aggroing the others he passes. just keep targeting the farthest one as you stay close behind and watch his health. you too ca aggro trolls but if you do keep close to him or when you explode him, if they are not in his explosion range, you'll be left to deal with them. when his health is around 1.5 k get to the explode button and click it. don't get greedy. bc if you try to get those 2-3 more b4 you pop him and he dies, you're in trouble. you might only get 5 one time.. then 15 the next. sadly by the time you're done you'll have the process down well and are gettin 15. but you'll be done.

after you explode him, and you aren't in combat, click to take the costume to take it off. if u have bird, mount fly back to where you started,

if you just put the costume on right when you have scouted where you want to go and put it on when you're ready to get you abom, it'll never come off.

rinse and repeat.

it is not a fat quest. like i said, just don't be greedy, be patient and you'll get it done faster than if you try to blow 30 up at 1 time

* side note--- i got confused about the chieftans. you don't need to worry about them. they automatically spawn every 20 kills and a bat thing comes and swoops them up

Getting credit for the kills seems to be arbitrary. I've killed over 100 Skullcrushers but I've received credit for only 33. I don't see why the abominations are needed. The skullcrushers are an easy kill; it's not like they're elite. As far as I can see, they're only used to make it harder. I don't normally complain about the difficulty of quests, but this quest is deserving of it: it's the worst quest ever.

This is what you need to do in order to be successful in this crazy quest.

First, don't forget to refresh your scourge disguise every once in a while to be cautious.

You want to run up to the troll village (32.7, 39.7) (the new quest helper will show the area in blue) and charm one of the abominations near the front of the village. Grab one that isn't in combat and therefore at 100% health.

Now run into the village but don't get too close to the trolls that you're the one that aggroes the enemy trolls. Have the abomination scoop up mobs- the abomination doesn't even have to hit the trolls very much as it runs around. Most importantly don't be over-zealous and have the abomination die before you can use your spell. The trolls will come for you. (Night elfs, hunters, and rogues have a benefit here. Just shadowmeld, feign death, or vanish so you don't get mobbed by a dozen trolls if the abomination dies first. Everyone else, you're pretty much screwed).

There are only two spells on the pet bar you can use, I only utilized the explosion button before the abomination got to 0% health. I guess you can use the stun but it isn't really worth it, keep moving. Be sure to be close enough to the abomination when you explode the abomination that you get credit when the trolls explode with it (they will die instantly), and it seems that you only get credit for 5 or 6 at a time. It won't be very quick but it's easy.

The chieftans will come out every once in a while when you kill enough of the trolls. When the chieftans come out, you don't have to do anything. The chieftans announce their presence so it's hard to miss when you're keeping alert. Just pause and wait, and a gargoyle will come down to take them away. They appear in the little archways in the crudely built fences.

And that's it. Simple.

I have to say also that I have killed over thirty now and have not got credit for a single kill. I've tried it several ways and have not got credit for a single kill.

Absolutely irritating.

I went back before submitting this and tried once more and got credit for 3. Have no idea how I did it because when I went and grabbed another pet....once again I am not getting credit for killing them.

Someone please post something better than what has been added to the additional notes? Those notes do not help at all.

well over an hour wasted and I never did figure out the key to this quest.
simple enough.. grab a fat guy and have him kill the others right... no big deal right?

tried the pally round up to a single fat guy and killed 20+ at once, zero credit.
tried to make sure he gassed them ( passed gas and knocked things down ), zero credit.
tried to make sure the fat guy tagged everyone with melee dmg before blowng up, zero credit most of the time.
there seemed to be no reason as to when or why you get credit for killing!

I decided that credit only came when you blew up your fat guy at 10-15% health left on your pet...
but who knows, it could just be random chance.

I didn't come away saying how cute this quest was... I was just red in the face mad that it was so complicated to get credit for killing something.

I had the same problems mentioned but I just figured it out. You need to use the Ensorcelled Choker in your inventory to put on the Scourge disguise. Wearing this will allow you to charm the Abominations without aggro and you can send it off to blow up the Skullcrushers.

tried a few different ways of doing this, and finally this post figured it out for me. As a pally with ret aura, worked just fine once I let them hit me first.

I am sure I am not the only one who has been frustrated while doing this quest. Like everyone else, I came here to look at what I was doing wrong! There are a lot of 'secrets' to this quest posted here, but none of them seem to work with any kind of repeatability. So I decided to ignore all of them, and I looked at this one from a WoW pet mechanics angle.

If your pet does 100% of the damage to a mob, you will not receive kill credit when they die. However, if you do some damage to the npc, or the npc instantly dies without taking any damage via a pet ability, you will get credit.

Since you can not attack the npcs without losing your disguise, and consequently your pet, you need to have them instantly killed with the ability that does no damage BUT will give you credit for the kill! So after trying every single 'secret way' to do this quest correctly, I simply put my pet on passive, ran in and grouped them up myself - DO NOT USE THE KNOCK DOWN ABILITY - and detonated the Abomination. Credit every single time~

Edit: MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE A DAMAGE SHIELD BUFF ON YOURSELF OR THE ABOMINATION.

Make absolutely sure that you do NOT explode your Abomination immediately after using Flatulate to knock them all down. If any of them are still knocked over, they will not take enough damage from exploding to kill them, and will chase you.

1st thing: I have to stand as far away as possible to charm these stupid guys. If they get one hit on me then I have to try again but can't
since they attack much faster then the charmer works (2 sec cast).

2nd thing: If I actually get them charmed they immediately disappear after turning green. I may have the pet attack menu up for 1 second.

I am doing this on the ramp leading up to the area where the trolls are. Am I even in the right space?

dunno if this quest used to be bugged or i just got incredibly lucky. anyways, i wrapped this up in about five minutes, if that by more or less doing what Rydiok already suggested. Didn't have a single problem with getting credit and was knocking out 10+ trolls per abomination. really the only thing you need to get the hang of is blasting the flatulence (no pun intended) at the right time, not only using it to keep attackers at bay as you herd them up, but also using it as a means to pull even more with less leg work. the chieftans show up for every 20 trolls ya kill and will more or less be automatically picked up once they show themselves and declare their revenge.

There is literally nothing wrong with this quest. Is it time consuming? No....it isn't!

The Chieftains lured out as I was killing the 60 Skullcrushers.

All you need to do is tag a Skullcrusher then target the next one and then attack that. I kept doing that when I had tagged about 6 or 7 then used the explode attack on the pet bar. This tag attack, tag attack is something a Warlock knows how to do with their Voidy. It is not hard at all!

Sure, you have to get another Abomination for every time you need to do that, but quit the moaning folks as this is NOT a hard quest at all.

Trust me: If I can do it, then anyone can!

Strategy that worked for me and got it done in ~5min as a dps with no help in WOTLK classic:

- use ensorcelled choker to become a scourge and charm the abominations using the wand (you can do it from over the fence you don't have to walk out each time)
- stay out of personal aggro and get abom to attack the skullcrushers using the pet hot bar commands
- if theres a bunch of skullcrushers together you can use the minion's aoe to aggro them all instead of aggroing each individual one
- once you do a trip around the camp OR the abom is about to die (if you're constantly using the abom's AoE CC this shouldn't be an issue) explode him

Worst. Quest. Ever.

The XP return for the time invested is dismal. The quest isn't even fun. The aggro range of the trolls is huge, and you will aggro them with your disguise on. If you fight the troll obviously your disguise will drop and then the Abominations will also aggro from a huge range.

I would like my 30 minutes back please.
