The items you are looking for have the appearance of tiny thorium veins and are scattered throughout Kolramas, the large fallen necropolis that is southeast of Captain Rupert. Keep an eye out for tealish items on the floor - they can be very easy to miss due to their size.

The NPC gossip never got updated. When you speak to some of them they still have the dialogue from the first scourge invasion.

Also, if you watch the NPC's after you turn in the quest, when all is said and done, they say that they must get the metal to Highlord Fordring. Continues elsewhere, perhaps?

Just as a little note. If you still have your Ensorcelled Choker from the quest Infiltrating Voltarus, you can put on the scourge disguise, and pick them up without having to kill anything.

After you turn the quest in, the npcs start "Study'ing" the ore. if you watch it its funny actually. Made me think of cavemen who find a new strange object; "Hit it widda rock. smash eet. firre!" one hits it with an axe, another with a hurricane spell and another with a holy spell of some sort.

These little "chunks of saronite ore" can be found in the crashed zigguarat called "Kolramas". They are miniature versions of the larger ore deposits found across the world, and can be found on the first and second stories of the ziggurat

BE AWARE!

They look like a Saronite Deposit but they are about 10 times smaller!

If you have a flying mount i could recommend flying around the top of the building looking for these!

This is the full script of the event after turning in this quest:

Eitrigg places the ore on the ground next to the fireplace.
The avenger snorts, clearly unimpressed.
Eitrigg says: Now we will see why this ore is so important to the Scourge.
Eitrigg says: Korfax, what can you tell from this saronite?
Crusade Commander Korfax says: Saronite you say?
Korfax approaches the ore.
Crusade Commander Korfax says: Never heard of it. Looks like pure evil.
Crusade Commander Korfax says: Let's see how it holds up to the might of my axe!
Korfax attempts to cleave apart the ore.
Crusade Commander Korfax says: What the? My reaper didn't even scratch it! That's the toughest ore I've ever seen!
Avenger Metz rolls his eyes.
Eitrigg says: Rayne, Rimblat, what about the power of nature and the elements?
Rimblat Earthshatter says: Let us see if it is truly impervious.
Rimblat and Rayne attempt to attack the ore with the powers of earth and lightning.
Rimblat Earthshatter says: Nothing.
Rayne says: By the Goddess. It's as if Nature can't touch it!
Avenger Metz says: No surprise there.
Eitrigg says: Metz?
Avenger Metz says: What?
Eitrigg says: You know what.
Avenger Metz says: Fine. Just remember though, the power of the Holy Light isn't something to be invoked casually, brother.
Metz channels Holy energy and strikes at the ore with his mace.
The ore begins to glow bright green and to emit a thin green gas.
Avenger Metz says: What's it doing?
The ore erupts, sending out a wave of malevolent power, knocking over the whole company.
Rayne says: Gah!
Crusade Commander Korfax says: Oof!
Avenger Metz says: Woah!
Eitrigg dusts himself off.
Eitrigg says: Clearly this is getting us nowhere. We need to get this saronite to Highlord Fordring for further study.
Eitrigg says: Thank you for trying, my friends. We'll unlock its secrets. Hopefully before it's too late.
Avenger Metz grunts.

Or did it never reach Fordring? (maybe some garg ate the courrier ^^)

Other than that, it seems like a funny reference to Lotr. No gnomes though ^^

Easy quest go into Kolramas at entrance 60,79 it's a big entrance so you cant miss it the 'Chunk of Saronite' or on the floor little aqua ish colour rocks bit of a shiny sparkle

We know that Kolramas, the crashed necropolis to the southeast, was carrying a large amount of an ore known as saronite when the trolls shot it down.

My scouts tell me that much of the saronite is strewn about within the innards of that thing.

Eitrigg and his friends back at The Argent Stand want a bunch of the stuff so that they can study it.

I want you to head in there and see if you can collect enough for them.
