To get to Malas the Corrupter, enter the crashed Necropolis at 59, 79 and make a right. Go up the path of green stepping stones (located on a ramp) and you'll see an tunnel at the top (60, 80). Go through the tunnel and follow the path to the top of the Necropolis.

If you're trying to solo him be aware that he will use this constantly:

Wavering Will - Increases the time between an enemy's attacks speed by 25%, slows its casting speed by 20%, and slows its movement by 50%. Lasts 15 sec.

I soloed her as a 77 frost mage, was hard but I did it first try. Used my healing pots, mana gems and went thru a few ice barriers and mana shields, just don't stand in the fire and use the water ele to agro bounce her. And frost mages should not have a problem

difficult but possible on a warrior, wear tanking gear and keep enough rage to always spell reflect "Raging Shadow", it has a 3 second cast time, it does about 1800 damage and will stun the mob.

Solo'd as 77 enhanc shaman. fight was easy. Healing stream, SOE, Winfury, and Fire elemental totems and my wolves out before pulling to next to the fire. What i didn't realize that there was a hole and mid way through the first i fell through. The fall actually helped a bit gave me time to cast yet another instant heal, as Malas ran down to get me. Met Malas mid way up stairs and popped Shamanistic Rage to reduce damage since my wolves were gone at that point.

I solo's him as a 76 prot. warrior, i have around 18k armor, and 17k health, when the fight was done i had 2k health left. it was a tough fight.

Soloed as a 76 Deathknight. Was specced along the lines of 16/0/51. For the most part, spend your runes mainly on keeping your diseases up and deathstriking as much as possible. Use Icebound Fortitude every time the cooldown comes up and anti-magic shell as well. The gargoyle in the unholy tree can help a lot in dropping his health down to decrease the amount of time the fight takes. If your blood make good use out of your Mark of Blood ability and use dancing rune blade whenever possible to decrease the amount of time the fight takes. Decreasing the amount of time the fight takes increases the chance that you will survive. In the end, the key is to keep your diseases up and runes free for deathstriking.

Solo'd as a 77 feral druid. Did the kitty "stunlock", then went bear and hit Berserk. She died with me having about 4k HP left, but didn't use any pots or Frenzied Regen. Much harder than Ursoc, but easily doable.

As usual 2-man group quests are soloable by demon spec locks. But this was so easy it took me by surprise. I did it at lvl 75 from the first attempt.
Sent in the felguard first and stead at distance. I kept my Curse Of Agony, Immolate and Corruption on the cycle at all times, and in between kept healing my minion. Didn't do any more dps not to steal it's aggro. The fire it casts does constant damage on the minion but was no match for health funnel+fel armor. In fact i stopped the channeling several times because the fel was at full hp already. In what felt like less than 2 mins it's 80k+ hp was gone. Kept the pants from quest reward.

Soloed at 76 sm/felguard warlock. Got pat to tank her down until he ran out of mana( with my constant dots on her) and then just nuked her. Didn't even need pet to tank, easy.

Soloed her with no major problems as a 76 Balance druid with 1,2k spell power. Basically just kited her around and around the top, healing with HoTs and keeping Moonfire and Insect Swarm up all the time. Also used treants in the beginning.

Resto druids will have an even easier time soloing her as they can outheal her damage easily, even with poor gear.

Soloed as 75 shadow priest with 1360 spell power. As someone stated, do a full rotation to begin with (VT=>SW:P, MB=>DP, MF).

Then shield yourself and run around the ring (don't fall, but it might be a good idea to clear the single mob below in case you do). Keep SW:P and DP on him and if you gain some distance, use MF to refresh SW:P. Always dispel his slow effect on you (might also be useful to have a pvp trinket to remove his stun if you get low in health).

Had to pop a healing pot and unSForm to heal once before he died. Not too bad.

ps. Don't run too far away (if you get to the opposite of the circle as him), he'll reset.

Soloed as a lvl 78 forst mage. Was very hard and i succeded on 3rd try :) Just kited him around with ice lance and fireblast... When he got to close i used Iceblock and made him attack my Water Elemental. Used coldsnap and repeated. Used Deepfreeze everytime fingers of frost where up.

Soloed as 77 elemental shaman. Don't use your flame shock, you need earth shock for interrupts(yes earth shock). kite, use grounding whenever its up. User your fire elemental and make sure that once it dies to drop your searing totem. Heal as needed

Soloed as lvl 76 ret paladin , wasnt to hard .
Hammer of Justice for wining some healing time and walking out of flames , as well Holy Wrath both work on her , Exorcism works as well so hit it on ewery CD . Seal of Wisdom , Judgment of Wisdom and Blessing of Wisdom to geep mana up , probly can replace Blessing of Wisdom with Blessing of Might , Turn Evil works to if any need for extra time , dint use any CD abilitys so shuld be easy to solo to any paladin .
Died in end toh , not cause of mob , killed her healed my self up looted my q item and rand off the ramp , met ground at hig speed so had to corpse run :P

i tried soloing him on my alliance ele shaman, he was just hitting too hard(around 1k, stuns, and have to avoid aoe fires) so i died. i saw an orc death knight down below so i /wave at him and /point at the tower. trying to get him to help me. Good thing he needed the quest too because he was /point at Malas, I /nod and /ready. He charged in and down him no problem. I then /wait and he /nod. My attempt failed because the death knight used this one move where a sword appears and copys all of his moves and it killed me. I don't think he knew that it was his own ability that killed because on our third attempt, he used the same move but much later during the fight so it wasn't that big of a deal.

I know, useless information but I thought it was a neat story.

As a 77 shadowpriest, u can easily solo her.
tips :
Until ur PW:S breaks, use all ur offensive spells
When it breaks, heal yourself
Heal urself with flash heal while he dps you, when Weakened Soul ends, re-shield yourself and get back into Shadowform to use all ur abilities once again
Use ur Dispersion to reduce damage, as Shadowfiend will almost recover enough mana to kill her.

I didnt dispel her debuffs, but got out of fires as soon as she casts it

Was able to solo this as a L80 combat dagger rogue, completed with 24% health left. Based upon what I read above, I made sure that I buffed with the "mojo" 1hr buff for the area (gave me over 250ap iirc), a strength and stamina scroll, equipped wound poison to both daggers, then flew to the top of the structure near Malas.

Stealthed, then Cheap Shot, Backstab, Adrenaline Rush, Backstab, spammed Sinister Strike , Kidney Shot w/5 combo, Backstab, spammed Sinister Strike 'til 5 combos, then Evicerate, then Sinister Strike 'til done.

Toon had all Northrend Blues and 3 Trollwoven Epics. I think it would have been much, much closer without the scrolls and the "mojo" buff.

Is possible as a 76 holy priest...I basically used Holy fire to pull, then Shadow word pain: and continued to kite around the top of the structure...i used shield and renew when needed but kept up shadow word pain and holy fire....when he was down to ~8k health i just turned around and finished him off....if a 76 holy priest can solo this anyone should be able to

Tried to solo with a level 77 prot warrior. 18k health, ucrittable (536 def), 51% avoidance. Used battle shout to buff me, charged in, pop'd demoralizing shout, shield wall and started shield-slam/revenge/sunder rotation. I tried to interrupt his casting with the typical tools (shield-bash, revenge, concussion blow, shockwave). I used up the CD on last stand, enraged regeneration, etc. I got him to about 40%. Pretty confident that he's not soloable by a well equipped 77 prot warrior.

Very easy to solo the comments helped. I did it as a 76 DK nothing special just keep your diseases up and spam deathstrike to keep your health up. Using death and decay and the gargoyle will help out tremendously with that added dps since he does have 106k hp. Also make sure to move out of the AoE fire he does and not fall off, lol.

Tip for Mages:

Im pretty much full frost specced Mage and what I did is I popped out Pet, Icy veins, Barrier, started nuking, got lucky Fingers of Frost right at the beginning to get Deep Freeze. So I nuked, blinked away when he got to me and iceblocked. Then he gone to my pet, and I got more spare time to nuke. I was semi-oom, around 30% mana, and I actually fell of the edge to center 2nd floor of the Necropolis. There I evocated, coldsnapped, and got the bastard down to 3.7k hp and wiped.

Bleh. But basically, idea of this post is to say, that the elite will follow you down to 2nd floor, if you jump down. It takes him quite a while. You could kill 1 non-elite mob in the meanwhile, like I did. EDIT: So be sure to clear the center 2nd floor aswell. There is 1 mob chilling out.

EDIT2: Finally got him down, didn't follow the pattern I posted tho. All messed up, jumped down, kited him through the 2nd floor to 3rd and vice versa. Phew..

76 frost mage, popped CD's trinket etc and gave him hell, IB when he was about to smash me so he went to water elemental, again nuek then just running aroung the top and spamming ice lance. Took me a mana gem. When he cast's that slowing-thingie I jumped down to the "abomination factory room" and evocated and continued running around icelancespam. Not easy, but doable.

Soloed easily when leveling my pally @75 ^^

I don't think this kiting advice works. As a resto druid I had no luck at all. First as the above poster says casts a 50% movement debuff and second if you kite around she resets. Barely even dented her.

Accidentally engaged while in PVP gear with ~1600SP, so had trouble with mana near the end.
Unable to fear, kept renew up, shield when CD up, and used lightwell. Had to fiend once.
Avoid the fire on ground at all cost and just SWP, holy fire, MB, smite, burn it down :)

As a frost/frostfire mage I found this VERY hard to solo. Lvl 77, wearing very good dungeon gear from Gundrak and the like.

What I kept attempting was starting with the icyveins+pewpew, then stunning with deep freeze if possible. When Malas got close I would drop my WE and start running, trying to get to max frostbolt/frostfirebolt range from my elemental. Then pew until ice barrier breaks (which is Very Fast) and then iceblock. Stay in iceblock while Malas heads over to the WE, making sure to hit Follow->Attack to get the WE out of the fire if she casts it on him. As soon as iceblock breaks make sure ice barrier is up and go back to pewing. This would get her down from 60k to ~20-30k, depending largely on fingers of frost (and thus also deep freeze) procs.

I think the trick is to keep kiting after that. It seems like if you kite from a longer range (~15+ yards) she doesn't hit you with the 50% speed debuff as often. The time that I finally got her down I did this, and just kept hitting her with icelance and fire blast whenever possible and keeping ice barrier up. Had to use a mana shield, health pot, and mana gem as well. It worked so well that last time that I think this may work well regardless of the elaborate WE+iceblock combo I was trying above.

Some tricks to this fight:
Frost nova mysteriously doesnt work, even though it's a mage's only real survival, while plate armor, healing, pets, etc. seem to work fine. The ring she's on is *just* too wide to shoot her across from, so it's tough to get any real range from her. Blink breaks between the purple platforms and the grey stone (of course) so you have to be careful to save until you first step on one terrain type.

The purple platform to the right of Malas has a crack going halfway through it. It's very small, but big enough to fall through. With the 50% speed debuff it's tough to jump over too. PLUS the height its at results in ~2500 falling damage. I also found that Malas reset almost every time I jumped or fell down to the 2nd floor. Even walking down the ramp reset her. A few times she didn't reset, but I'm not sure what made the difference. Her spider friends will aggro to you if she gets near them, and one even walks all the way up the ramp, so the adds are sure to wipe you. If you're having trouble, try jumping down (slowfall if almost dead) to reset the fight and avoid a corpse run.

Also beware that there's some really obnoxious terrain here. Some area can't be walked up randomly. At some places the purple platform can't be jumped onto either, making you walk back around to the ramp. On the stone ramp up to the top level, there's actually places on the ramp that you can't walk up either, which is annoying as it looks like a regular ramp. Being at the top of of a necropolis also meant some major framerate hiccups whenever I got near an edge and distant objects had to be loaded and drawn.

All in all, this fight is a pain in the ass. Like all the elites in BC content, it seems to be tuned specifically so that mages can't solo it, while most other classes in the game (with armor, pet, heals, or both) can do so easily. I'd recommend finding help on this one unless you want a challenge and don't mind dying. If you're on a low pop server like me and can't find anyone, I'd just drop the quest.

Soloed as hunter, although at 79 and ended up being close due to a few add respawns. I was survival, so pet had some threat generation issues - as BM it would've been easy. But kiting him is definitely possible, even with the slow debuff, as my pet died while Malas still had 26k HP and I had an add running after me as well, yet I managed to kite him down. You just have to be sure to move the pet occasionally to avoid the fires, which I failed at due to the adds and all.

Just soloed him as a 75 Blood DK, just what sworndeath34 said but I didn't have a gargoyle. Keep diseases up, use deathstrike as often as possible and keep out of the fire. Use empowered rune weapon when you need to for two more extra deathstrikes.

Far from easy, but not all that difficult. Just make sure you don't fall off the ledge like I did on my first try.

Soloed as a 75 feral druid.
Not very complicated. Important to note that you CANNOT shift out of his slow, but he CAN be stunned. Keep mangle and lacerate up, work your way around the circle to stay out of fires, and once your health starts getting low: wait until the very end of wavering will (keep an eye on the debuff duration) then bash and run 1/4 of the circle or so ahead and heal it up. Lather, rinse repeat.

Prot Paladins -
Pull with AS, use exorcism on CD, aswell as all your normal tools. ;) Use Shadow Resistance aura and HOJ+Holy Wrath the Raging Shadows cast. Dispel the magic debuff and move out of fire.

Completed in this manner at level 77 wearing mostly instance/quest and 2.4 badge/za gear. Best BC pieces are T6 helm and Myrmidon's treads. Had Corrin's coin + Gnomer autoblocker. Also using the emblem +experience shoulders.

Solo'ed as a 79 Holy Paladin, it took a long while as my DPS is low, but what seemed to work best for me was Seal of Righteousness (only seal a holy paladin can do decent damage with high spell power and low atk power), Judgement of Light, spamming the judgement, hand of reckoning, shield of righteousness, exorcism, holy wrath and hammer of justice to interrupt the casts. With shadow resistance aura up, the only time I took significant damage was when I was standing in the fire she summons. It's kind of a pain to get out of the way because she slows your movement speed. I did use holy shock on her a few times, but I think it would be best saved for healing when you get stuck in the fire so you can cast it on yourself AS you run out of the fire. Used Blessing of Wisdom (though I do have kings available to me) and with one Divine Plea was at max mana 90% of the fight.

Solo'd as a level 77 Enh shaman with quest/dungeon blues.

Dropped strength, flametongue, windfury, mana spring just out of the 30 yrd range, ran in and grabbed aggro before pulling her back to my totems. I spam earth shock as part of my dps rotation without really paying attention to when she casts, but I think it interupts her.

Popped feral spirit, their healing easily covers her damage, which is pretty low. Healed once using the insta heal from maelstrom.

Your damage should cause her to die long before you do as long as feral spirit is up.

Incredibly easy as a hunter, even with a Tenacity pet. Use Intimidation every time it's up (as well as any other stuns you may have, warstomp, etc), pop rapid fire and every trinket or cooldown and just go all out.

Just make sure to keep mend pet up 100% of the time.

I finally managed to solo this as a Discipline Priest at level 78.
At first I made the mistake of confronting the mob face to face and died quickly.
After 4 more attempts I started kiting him around the roof(He stops to cast quite frequently,
and if you are far enough, his stun will miss you) while using only Shadow Word: Pain and Holy Fire while constantly dispelling his debuff to avoid getting stuck in the fire and keeping myself alive through shielding and healing(Renew was a great help since you don't want to stop moving for very long). It took a while and some help from the shadow fiend, but if a priest can do it, anyone can.

I was fine as a level 75 prot warrior with 14k health (popped last stand, one health pot, and lifeblood), 421 defense. They may have made this easier. Just keep moving out of the flames, keep up the stuns, and spell reflect whenever you see it casting Raging Shadows. Good reflexes help a bit - I managed to reflect Raging Shadows every time.

soloed as level 76 prot pally, 15,820 health, 456 defense, 18333 armor, just use the 96969 rotation, keep out of the way of the fire, heal when you're at 2/3 health and it wasn't too bad, didn't even have to bubble.

just fyi, the movement debuff can be cleared with cleanse, but malas puts it back on with his/her next attack so it's of little use to you

Soloed as L77 Fury Warrior. Had Commanding Shout up and Blessing of Kings from Zim'Torga. I sat in Defensive Stance the whole time, Glyph of Bloodthirst and Enraged Regeneration healing me for quite a bit. The Raging Shadows spell can be Spell Reflected, and it definately should be.
I had about 9k HP (50%) after Malas died. No healing potion.

Solo'd as lvl 76 Enh shaman using strat above. NP at all, popped feral spirits at 50% life and kept walking backwards out of the fire on the ground. I saved Maelstroms to help out with self-healing, but probably could have used a few insta bolts instead.

Just soloed as a 75 shadow priest. Mostly quest/dungeon/crafted blues. Pretty simple fight. Bubble and allow weakened soul to cooldown so you can bubble immediately when its down. Start with shadowfiend to hold aggro while you place all dots, then just rotate mind blast/flay and redot when needed while continuously walking backwards to avoid his fire. Stun proc from blackout talent should help a good bit and use mind flay whenever you have some room. Though i didnt try it, it may work to turn and run quickly when you do proc blackout, then mindflay to slow his approach. Keep bubble up when you can and heal if you have to, as you most likely will. About halfway through the fight i had to pop dispersion to allow weakened soul to cooldown and it saved my ass as i was almost dead. I didnt worry about wavering will, was not a problem for me...Pretty easy fight if you keep on top of bubbling and healing.

An Unholy Death Knight with Crypt Fever/Ebon Plague has a very easy time with this quest. Spamming Death Strike with three diseases up will allow you to pretty much solo this boss while standing steadfastly (or unwittingly) in the fire.

Level 80 Holy Priest. Soloed it.

Opened with Holy Fire, SW:P, Dev Plague.. Bubble
She'll stun you every now and then.
She will also set the ground on fire (were you are standing) move out of this, (you are slowed down).

Pretty much just keep a renew on you, keep your dots up, Holy fire as usual and smite etc, Keep moving. And have your SHadowFiend at your finger tips should you run low on mana (>20% imo, since you could be trying to cast a Greather Heal and then you'd be stunned, so gives you more options having more mana - but thats obvious).

Immune to Fearing.

Quite a slow dance. 66k health.

If a Holy Priest can do this (80) then others 80s would have no problem eh?

(Doing this and all the argent crusade quests at 80 just for rep farming btw).

Solo'ed as a moonkin because of all the posts saying you could kite him.

Some useful things to know are :

1. He is not rootable. So dont try.

2. Always keep enough distance and dont stop to cast long spells

What I did was simply start the fight with a starfire followed by moonfire and insect swarm. You will see that the top of the necropolis looks like a square, make sure you dont go farther than one side away from him or he could reset. Also, when you use ur instants or dots, keep running, you must always be farther than your casting range from him or he will cast wavering will on you...

Soloed as a lvl 76 shadow priest the key to this fight is the ability to dispel magic since the slowing debuff is magic in nature and can be dispels just run around the platform doting her and dispels takes a few minutes but its more then doable not really that hard for any class that can dot and dispel that slow effect.

Solo'd as 75 BM Hunter with Gorilla Pet. Made sure I used all cooldowns when they were up and always kept a HOT on my pet. Take pet off "Defensive" whenever boss drops fire on the ground to move him out and "kite" him. Had to use a Mana pot.

Solo'd as a 80 MM Hunter. Pet was a gorilla to keep aggro going, but had to keep it on Passive so I could pull it back and reattack once she casts the fire. Also had Aspect of Beast on to avoid creating too much heat.
For whatever spec you may be employing, take out the one mob on the ramp prior to engaging her. I was able aggro'd it while standing above it. Very annoying to have it run up and attack me in the middle of the fight!

Well, in 3.1 he's unsoloable. it now stuns as well as slows, and the stun is around the same duration as a paladin's stun.
the fire damage seems more than 650/second also. Combine this with much less healing from death strike, and you get killed.

As a 79 Arcane Mage it was very difficult even with kiting. My strategy was Frostfirebolt him until he was withing melee range then fall into the hole in the center (the abomination room, plus make sure the room is clear before you attempt) and kept hitting him hard. Without trinket help to boost spell power probably couldn't have done it. Very difficult for squishies.

I completed this as a 79 Ret Pally.

First watch out and take care not to fall of the platform. You'll lose your tag if another player comes along.

Keep a health pot ready (use lay on hands only for a dire emergency). Malas can be stunned so use HoJ every time it comes off cooldown. Preferably when it is about to cast. The fire spell is deadly. Move out of it immediately.

With some quick, well timed heals this quest is definitely manageable.

Soloed as a 78 assassination rogue. I opened with cheap shot, mutilated and had 5 combo points (thanks to critting on the mutilate). Right as cheap shot wore off, I used the 5 cp's for a kidney shot. Worked up 5 more combos with mutilate and did a cold blood envenom. Immediately hit evasion and continued dps'ing. I highly recommend walking backwards around the rim as you dps to avoid fire. I used kidney shot again once if was available, had to use on runic healing potion.. finished with 30% life.

Very easy as a 78 feral druid. Started out in cat form to get 35 seconds of 30% more damage (Savage Roar, i.e goodness) then went bear and just moved out of the fire when he had that down.
Edit: Why is this rated down? Im giving advice on how to kill the NPC as a feral druid and that can be helpful to alot of people.

Looked all the way for a useful coment for a fire mage and didn't found one so there it is. Tried 2 times with FFB PvE spec - 53 17 (since I'm 79) failed terribly. Then switched to my pvp spec with breath, blast wave, impact etc. Started like this -> Combustion - pyro - living bomb then started runing around. The fight was spaming fire blast and living bomb, never stop. Trinket is not working against his debuff even tho it's applying slow effect. He got to me just once after 2 hits blazing speed activated removed the debuff and I went on the other side.
3 things that you should know:
1. Impact IS working. Use it.
2. Dragon's breath is not. Don't waste your mana.
3. Blast wave IS working - it's pushing him way back. That's the reason he got to me only once - blast waved him the other 2 times without taking damage. No potions used no block, just a sapphire.

Level 75 elemental shaman sick of getting slaughtered? Here's how I eventually managed it, with both elemental totems on cooldown.

Don't use Flame Shock; save Earth Shock for interrupting every single shadow stun. I was dying to being stunned inside the fire AoE so simply don't get stunned. Take your time, kite her around, interrupting and LBing when you have enough health.

I was able to solo this easily as a level 80 Retribution Paladin without using any health potions, but please note that my gear was mostly the best dps gear outside of raid drops.

I also tanked this with a 76 priest and it went easily as well as I kept the aggro on me and the priest was able to DPS it well.

No idea what you're talking about. Just solo'd as a 76 Retri Paladin with ease.
Simply keep exorcism going for the guaranteed crits, as well as holy wrath for the additional stun since she's undead.
Needed to heal a couple of times and use a mana pot. Nothing major at all.

Just move out of the fire that she lays down and use cleanse to dispel the debuffs, job done. You might need to use a bubble or a LoH depending on how geared/skilled you are.

Be careful. I just tried solo'ing twice as 76 DK, and she is nasty. She will spawn fire on the ground which rips through you like no tomorrow. Also, try to get lucky. I got unlucky, and 3 times she stunned me at the same time as a fire. Instant 2000 unmitigated damage. Also, she will use a slowing spell on you, so you will most likely take another 200-400 damage getting out. This is a difficult fight for a melee'r. I personally had to get an 80 to help me.

Soloed as a 77 mutilate Rogue, I used Deadly Poison and Mind Numbing on weapons.

1 - I opened with cheap shot -> mutilate -> 5cp kidney shot (improved).
2 - Once the kidney shot wears off, start backing up around the rim to avoid the fire. After the first kidney shot, I did 2-3 mutilates to get another 5 points, then used slice n' dice. Use kick when she casts and use cloak of shadows when you get the debuff on you.
3 - I do another 2-3 mutilates to get 5cp and then I kidney shot again and bandage up (make sure you aren't in the fire!)
4 - Once kidney shot wears off I hit evasion. Do another 2-3 mutilates to get 5cp, I hit slice and dice again.
5 - 2-3 mutilates. You can either do a cold blood + eviscerate or another slice and dice (up to you).
6 - Drink a runic healing pot (pray that it crits)
7 - 2-3 mutilates to get 5cp. Hopefully by now the bandage debuff is worn off and you can do a kidney shot + bandage.
8 - Finish her off, should be almost dead.

Hope this helps, took me a few tries to get it down. Just vanish if you mess up or get caught in the fire too long.

Just solo'd this last night as a 76 Human ARMS warrior; 13k HP, 26 % Crit in Battle, 2600 AP.

What I did was charge applied Rend + MS and immediately went to Blade storm; being weary of the AoE fire. Also, I popped Enraged Regeneration as soon as Blade storm was over. I was able to racial out of one of the stuns. When I got low on HP, I jumped down into the pit and bandaged while she came down around to me. Charged her and finished her off. Had 3/4 of my HP bar left when all was said and done.

Bring a runic healing potion, just in case RNG does not favor your damage.

Oh, and be sure to clear out the spiders in the pit and along the ramp so you don't have to deal with them when she's pathing down to you.

78 Feral Druid in Bear form.

Cast Rejuvenation and Regrowth before pull, drink quickly and pull when mana is full. FFF, Demoralizing Roar. Walk backwards (don't wait for fire debuff on ground before you start moving because it helps for his stuns to miss you) while keeping up Lacerate x 5 and Mangle. I also have Maul macroed to Lacerate and Mangle. When your HP is down to 50%, use Frenzied Regeneration and Berserk. Start spamming Mangle even if Lacerate is not kept up. Use a potion if you need to.

Cast your healing spells only if you feel safe or you have been able to interrupt/stun with Bash and have Barkskin on. For this fight, you may not need to. If you have a 10% HP lead on him, you will not have to self-heal at all, just keep up the Lacerate, Mangle and Maul rotation and finish him off.

Level 77 Shadow Priest can solo Malas.

This is how I did it:

Open with Mind Blast and throw up Vamp Embrace, Shadow Word: Pain, and Devouring Plague. The rest of your damage will come from well-timed Mind Flays. Vamp Embrace is very helpful but because you will be taking damage so fast, your heals from shadow aren't going to be enough. More important is to conserve mana for PW: Shield to cover yourself when dropping shadowform.

General strategy is to move Malas around like everyone has said. Move out of flames as they drop. Keep up SW: Pain and Devouring Plague. Use Silence to get multiple Mind Flays or throw in a Mind Blast safely. You will do as much damage as you can while keeping yourself out of flame.

Healing yourself is essential for this fight. I put up PW: Shield and cast Renew, Flash Heal, then Greater Heal, trying to get as close to full health as possible before switching back to Shadowform.

When Malas gets lower than 15k health, there seems to be less flame thrown on the ground. Don't rest, as the melee hits I've seen were 1000 - 2500. Use Shadowfiend and Dispersion as necessary to keep a large health pool while maintaining all the dots.

76 combat rogue took a few tries. cheap shot, ar+bf, ss build combo points, kidney, snd, evasion after kidney, ALWAYS leave enough energy for kick - the stun can take half your hp away, keep snd & rup up, it drops fairly quickly with lvl 70 badge gears n crafted weapons (saronite mh sword n oh dagger, wound+deadly). back out of fire on ground (could try cloak).

on 76 unholy dk it was a joke, army of dead gg. dk could solo most group (3) or even (5) quests at same level. so are feral druid with decent tanking gear, demon locks n hunters. in comparison rogue would need a group more often.

also there is no point posting "solo'ed as lvl 80 xxx". no one cares you solo'd a lvl 76 group(2) quest at lvl 80.

About 66k hp and 76 elite.
As of 3.1.3, I don't think he is soloable by a feral druid 75. The stun is very annoying and shapeshifting doesn't remove the snare effect, so no charge to interrupt spell cast. It also often casts a gtaoe fire spell below you dealing 600+ per 2 sec. My best try was 20%, with all I could (fire pot, life pot, all the long cooldown skills, kitting...). Good luck if you try it :)

Thought I'd share.

You can solo this as a Warlock being Affliction.

What I did:

Use your Felhunter. Bind a macro to Devour Magic on yourself (see below for macro). Keep pet on Passive. Starting at Max Range, hit Malas with Haunt, then start kiting while putting up Corruption and Curse of Agony (CoA). Dispell yourself when she slows you with your Felhunter's Devour Magic. Keep kiting and keep up both Corruption and CoA. If Nightfall procs use it. After a few laps you'll have killed her.

It helps to have a PVP tinket just in case, but I did not need to use mine.

Solo'ed as a 76 Shadow Priest. Utterly trivial if you know what you're doing. Put up DoTs, use cooldowns for mana, and Vampiric Embrace + Glyph of PW:S should be enough to heal. Just remember to cleanse the slow. You might be able to get in a Mind Blast or something when he stops to cast, but otherwise just keep up DoTs and he has no chance.

I have just managed to solo Malas as a lvl 78 shadow priest.

What I did was to first cast Vampiric Touch and started to run away from him, and as I was kiting him i cast Shadow Word: Pain and Devouring Plague, and lastly Vampiric Embrace to keep myself healthy. i also used Shadow Word: Death at times to keep Malas from resetting, and to avoid to take to much damage, I used Glyphed Power Word: Sheild.
And lastly, when i started to get low mana, i simply used Shadowfiend.

Shadow Preists needs to get nerfed, we're not supposed to do stuff like this...

As a 76 Protection Paladin, I tried solo'ing him at first and died quickly because I did not realize his AoE fire attack.

I changed to Judgement and Seal of Light and kited him around the top of the building and had almost no trouble with him.

Seeing as he is undead, I'd use Hammer of Justice whenever it wasn't on CD and then while he was stunned I'd use Exorcism on him (you could also use this time to heal if you find it necessary, just make sure you're out of the fire AoE when you do).

I hope this helps! He was cake once I realized he had that AoE.

Just solo'd as a 78 Affliction Warlock. I tried my Voidwalker as a tank first but he couldn't hold aggro, especially when I was healing him. So I tried my Infernal--worked fine, no problems. He has 20K or so of health and doesn't take as much damage as the VW. I layed on the dots/drain life and didn't even pull aggo. The infernal died right at the end when Malas was at about 15-20% or so, but just have a Healthstone ready and dot/drain life when he attacks you.

Soloed, 75 enhacement shaman wearing quest greens and blues. Read all the above posts and forgot everything soon as I hit him. Hit him with lightning bolt, dropped down in cave and killed add before he showed up.Just dropped my totems. Stoneskin, Windfury, Fire Resistance, and Magma. Sent spirit wolves right away. Soon as they disapeared dropped fire elemental to finish him off. Stayed out of fire and spammed Storm Strike, Lava Lash, and Earth shock, Never once hit wind shear or lava burst and only 1 heal. He's a lot easier than I was led to believe.

Just soloed as a 76 prot warrior, not-so-great gear, 15K+ HP. Use everything - Shield Bash, Conc Blow and Shockwave are your best friends here. Keep TC and Demo Shout up, and stay out of the fire. Got stunned in it and caught a couple ticks but recovered. Melee hits 6-700 on plate. Used health pot, Last Stand and Shield Wall, ended with about 3K. Easier than I imagined, but by no means easy.

At level 75 she was hitting way too hard on me, so I got enough runic power before hand to cast gargoyle on her and ordered my pet to attack, then ran around the circle casting Icy Touch and Death Coil constantly while enraging/healing my pet, holding aggro off the pet, and when low on health going up and Death Striking her. She SLOWLY went down but she did, I even picked up an add along the way

Solo'd as a level 75 ele shaman.

Was pretty easy, first, I went in used my Earth Elemental and let him tank Malas while I just nuked with all my cooldowns while STAYING OUT OF THE FIRE. Then, if you have instant ghost wolf, just keep flame shock on him and kite him around in circle and lava burst when you are far away enough. Also, make sure you use WIND SHEAR to interrupt every stun. As long as you keep yourself topped off, and kite, this shouldn't be too hard. It took me a couple tries before I got it down. Hope this helps, good luck!

P.S. You CANNOT kite with earthbind totem, Malas is immune.

Easily soloed by a 77 Survival Hunter. I used a bear pet to tank, just keep Mend Pet up and use Misdirection on it. Malas don't hit that much and Mend Pet did the trick, no skill needed.
If you get aggro, use Feign Death. If Feign Death fails like mine did, just try to kite him. If you get slowed, use Disengage but since the fight is taking place on a higher platform be aware of the risks. And also, the platform is not flat so do not use Disengage when you're facing downhill (Disengage makes you leap backwards, wich would be uphill).

As I write this, I still haven't been able to solo him. For rogues out there:

While some say he is stunnable, be sure what you are using is actually a stun
Cheap Shot as an opener will work to stun him, and Kidney Shot works after that.
Both Blind, and Gouge will not work on him.

Unfortunately he will be hitting constant ~1,000s on a quest geared leather wearer. So far, my two stuns have not been enough to get him down.

76 deep Frost mage, leveling gear and some blues.

Buffed with pot, food and scroll.
Moltern armor.
mana shield, fire shield and ice barrier.

Started nuking and blinked away. He is immune to chill effects etc.
Ice blocked once to keep him to the pet.

I also had to use invisibility to lure him to my pet.

Had to use mana pot.

When he died, i had only 40HP left and my pet was not feeling to well either but we did it.

As a 76 Affliction lock, this was one of the few times i've brought out my Voidwalker instead of my Felhunter. I employed a simple strategy of only keeping Curse of Agony and Corruption up on the 'boss' while healing my Voidy in between recasts. Doing this enabled me to keep my threat level at roughly the same as my pet until the boss died.

So while certainly not a flash strategy, it enabled me to do the quest without having to move, so feel free to give this lazy method a go if you're having trouble doing this quest as a warlock.

Maybe a Hunter or Warlock could solo this since your pet would take the damage but as said before Burning Blaze is nasty and causes a lot of damage, I managed to get 'em down to about 23% before it killed me. Also it's not a dot, it's an AOE, as long as you stand in it you'll take damage, jump back and you should be fine but it can do a lot of damage quickly, seeing how a tick goes off every second.

Died 3 times until I mastered backing up as soon as the fire hit me, then following with stun, consecrate, judgement and other attacks until he threw fire again. Backup and repeat until finished. Totally doable.

78 DK solo'd with little problem. Health didn't drop below 10k, pet died once and had to resummon. Continually walked backwards around the ledge to avoid the periodic damage. Don't know if that worked but it wasn't a very hard fight.

Soloed as a 79 destro just now. I'm glyphed for Conflag so immolate doesn't get consumed. Use void obviously. Throw agony and corruption. Heal pet periodically, he won't burn him down that bad so back off health funnel unless void is down to around 5 k or so to let your Fel Armor regen HP. Spidey will come after you at around 50% HP. Land a SF, then immolate/conflag. Jump cast corruption and agony to keep that going. run away until Conflag is back up. Jump cast conflag (jumpflag?) and refresh immolate as it is about out. Stun should be up again. Use it again. Run around and around and around kiting on the platform. Eventually the void will occupy Spidey again and you can get off a chaos bolt to finish it off. Have a HS ready. Have a pot ready, you will use them. Shouldn't be too bad on mana as you are using dots, without much time to cast a nuke.

Soloable with 76lvl Shadow Priest (decently geared and buffed). I just nuked the crap out of the target, offheals from Vampiric Embrace and Power Word: Shield kept me almost at full health. Straightforward fight, really.

Soloable but at this point on classic, just skip it. JJ plus heirlooms make these quests pointless and you'll be getting 80s gear pretty quick. If you do die, the corpse run is very annoying. Come back for 80 if you need it for the achiev.
