So, over a few days of doing this series of dailies, I've noticed that the rewards seem somewhat… lacking. I've been tracking all the dailies I've done, and these were no exception. What I did find out after doing a little math may put you off doing this series in favor of others*.

(Please note that I'm writing this from the view of a lv80 character, and will not discuss XP rewards.)

The Troll Patrol set of dailies are started by talking to Commander Kunz, who tells you to head out and do the tasks assigned to you by 4 others. Three are Captains whose dailies vary between a set of three, and the final one, Alchemist Finklestein.

It should be noted that the gold reward at lv80 is a static (and small) 3g18s for EVERY Troll Patroll sub-quest.

The first stop on your patrol is Captain Brandon. He offers you one of three possible dailies, Troll Patrol: Can You Dig It?, Troll Patrol: High Standards, or Troll Patrol: Something for the Pain. Each of these rewards 75 rep with The Argent Crusade.

The second stop will be Captain Rupert, who offers Troll Patrol: Done to Death & Troll Patrol: Throwing Down for 75 rep each, or Troll Patrol: Intestinal Fortitude which rewards a whopping 250 rep.

Third, we have Captain Grondel, offering Troll Patrol: Couldn't Care Less & Troll Patrol: Creature Comforts at 75 rep apiece, and Troll Patrol: Whatdya Want, a Medal? offering a paltry 25 rep.

Fourth and finally, Alchemist Finklestein offers Troll Patrol: The Alchemist's Apprentice, which requires you to run around like an idiot in his lab for 75 rep.

So, if we were to average the rep reward for each stop, it would look like this:

Captain Brandon: 75
Captain Rupert: ~133
Captain Grondel: ~58
Alchemist Finklestein: 75

Added together, this is a mean average of 341 rep, or ~85 rep per daily over 4 dailies, as well as the gold reward total of 12g72s.

But, we haven't figured in the Troll Patrol rewards yet, and assuming you complete the entire patrol before you timer buff wears out, we also need to figure in Congratulations!.

(It shouldn't be a problem to complete these quests within 20 minutes, unless you're on a PvP server, in which case, good luck.)

Troll Patrol adds 250 rep and 12g69s, while Congratulations adds 350 rep and 19g05s.

This brings our total mean average rewards up to 941 rep and 44g46s, or an equated average of ~157 rep and 7g41s per daily over 6 dailies. Even as a best case scenario, you can only get a max of 1075 rep and the aforementioned gold*.

The reality of this series of dailies is, if you're looking to make gold, avoid them at all costs. There are far more lucrative dailies to be run out there. If you're looking to grind Argent Crusade rep, this and Slaves to Saronite are really your only options, unfortunately.

*I didn't include the contents of the Patroller's Pack you get as a reward from Congratulations!, since it's contents can vary in value from a few silver to several gold, or have a value completely based on your server's economy. I leave it up to those reading this to decide if it's worth going after.

As far as grinding money goes, I think these two are the best sets of dailies:

1. Ebon Blade in Icecrown. You'll need to phase Shadow Vault town in by doing some other quests first, and do a few quests there before the first set of dailies open up. I'm not 100% sure if any of the quests there are pre-requisites for the next set of 3 dailies, located at Death's Rise (20,47).

These dailies offer a total of six quests at about 14.5g each, plus a total of 1500 rep (250 each). This really is a butt-ton of reputation; I'd never waste my tabard slot on Ebon Blade reputation. Just do these each day and you'll be there in no time. Save the tabard for something else.

2. Sons of Hodir in The Storm Peaks. Again, you'll need to complete some quests down a chain in order to phase the town in and also to phase the dailies in. You get progessively more dailies as your reputation increases; I think it starts at three on friendly, two more at honored and another at revered -- again for a total of six. Since these guys have no tabard and they are the source of high-quality shoulder enchants (at honored and exalted) in WOTLK, you're going to want to do these dailies as often as you can anyway.

Luckily, they also have nice monetary rewards -- about the same as the Ebon Blade dailies, if I remember correctly. Reputation is around 1850 total.

Just between these two sets of dailies you'll knock out 12 daily quests and make about 175g. None of the quests take particularly long, you can probably knock all 12 out in about an hour. (While you're in Icecrown, consider grabbing Slaves to Saronite as well for extra money and Argent Crusade rep. It's also a fantastic place to mine if you're a miner.)

You're absolutely correct about the Troll Patrol dailies; they're best used as reputation gains, not as money gains. The most unfortunate part about them is that it actually counts as six daily quests (4 for Troll Patrol, Troll Patrol itself and Congratulations if you do it in time) despite the rewards--both money and reputation--being comparatively lackluster. Do it while Argent Crusade rep matters to you and then find some more profitable ones.

Personally, if I'm going all-out on dailies I do: Ebon Blade (6), Hodir (6), Wymrest (3), Argent Crusade (6 for Troll Patrol + slaves to Saronite in Icecrown), Jewelcrafting daily (1). If you wanted to finish up the last few you could drop in on some of the PVP dailies in Grizzly Hills.

Unlike most "plant a banner" quests in the game, the banner you place for this quest is HUGE. Quite an impressive sight.

Been in this zone for a few days doing the quests to get "The Empire of Zul" achievement. I've got 95 quests done but I'm having trouble finding any more to do. Got bored and thought I would just look for the daily quests today. Stopped in to get this one and there isn't a blue question mark over his head any longer? Quest isn't in my log either, so is this quest no longer a Daily?

That said, we've taken some heavy casualties in this campaign and we've been hitting it hard with little or no sleep for months. That all takes a toll on morale, whether we admit it or not.

It may not seem like much, but seeing our standard raised over the battlefield is of considerable comfort to a soldier. Take these banners and raise them at the pedestals in Drak'Sotra.
