I dont know if it is a bug, or by design, but after handing in this quest, and getting the achievement associated with the chain, every NPC except the flightmaster in Fordragon Hold De-Spawned... or became invisible.... has anyone else seen that happen?

Bug or response is confirmed, I did this today on 2 alliance toons w/ the same response. I lagged out to disconnect the first time, the second toon was fine, though none of the NPC's are in the camp at all anymore except for the flight master.

Does this go anywhere afterward? Alexstrasza whispers me to "Come to her", but I head over to her, and nothing happens, save a Dialog between her and Korialstrasz.

- This quest chains to "reborn from the ashes".

- There is a event where Saurfang jr. and Fordragon attack the wrath gate and are both killed.

- Alliance take the Shield of Fordragon to Varian Wrynn in Stormwind.
- Horde take the Armor of Saurfang to Saurfang sr. in Grommash Hold.

- Varian Wrynn asks you and Jaina Proudmoore to take a portal to Orgrimmar and talk to Thrall.
- Saurfang sr. asks you to talk to Thrall in Orgrimmar.
- At this point we learn that Varimathras and Putress have betrayed the Horde and have taken over Undercity.

- Wrynn asks you to meet with Broll Bearmantle outside the sewers in Tirisfal Glades.
- Thrall asks you to meet with Vol'jin outside the sewers in Tirisfal Glades.

- Both factions attack the Undercity.
- There is a 5 minute wait time before beginning and you dont have to be grouped to have multiple people get credit for the event (similar to the battle of Lights Hope Chapel for deathknights)
- Wrynn/Thrall gives the buff "strength of wrynn/thrall" increasing hp by 30000 and heals 10000 when damage it taken.
- Jaina/Sylvanas gives the buff "improved brilliance aura" increasing rage/mana/energy/runicpower regenaration by alot and gives a run speed buff.
- Let Wrynn/Thrall tank the bosses (Putress/Varimathas) as they can hit for over a million on cloth.

- Alliance find and kill Putress.
- Horde find and kill Varimathras.

- The Alliance group hears Thrall's battle cry and finds its way to the Horde group where Thrall and Wrynn have a dialogue before the 2 groups start fighting. Jaina enters and freezes everyone, then teleports the alliance back to Stormwind to stop the fighting. (im not sure if this part happens in a different way for the Horde or not)

- At the end of the quest you are rewarded with a choice of 6 rare quality pants "Wrynn's/Thrall's leggings/legguards of foresight/heroism/valor/carnage/wisdom/brutality", and are also given a rare quality trinket called a "medallion of heroism". it has increased crit rating and a heal on use effect

My game was nice enough to crash as soon as I turned this quest in (i.e. no cinematic/cutscene for me). Now I'm stuck with the silence debuff and the NPCs are missing (probably off participating in the cutscene). Great.

I crashed as well but was able to see the cinematic by talking to Alexstrasza and getting the quest to grab Bolvars shield. Being silenced just meant I have to exit to Dragonblight for the debuff to fade.

I dont know what exactly i did wrong but:

After i handed in the Quest to Bolvar, nothing happened except that the server "phased". instantly after handing in the quest i got the achievement but I didnt see the cutscene, the battlefield burned, and alextrasza and krasus stood there.
I was able to take the Quest to retrieve Bolvars Shield, but when i clicked on alextraszas " Show me what happened here" nothing else happens.
Its really sad since i wanted to see that cutscene badly :(

EDIT: i just talked to a Gamemaster: According to him, the cutscene might not play properly if you installed one of the language packages ( as i did with my german version to english). So all that play with a language package beware!

EDIT2: It seems that as of Wrath of the Lich King, i cannot watch ANY cutscenes from the games main menu ( like the intros of vanilla,bc and wotlk)

Haven't found a way to get your falling 65 yards achievement yet? You'll get a buff after turning in this quest that renders you invulnerable. Hop off the cliff you're standing on and it's yours.

UPDATE: The buff no longer makes you invulnerable and this comment won't work. Lame :(

Before I make the rush to get this chain completed, can someone in the know answer this question:
Are there are NPC questgivers that get phased out who give quests outside the main chain?
That is, if i just want to do this chain and come back to Dragonblight later, will I be missing out on any quests?

Another way to see the cinematic without loading WoW is to go to your World of WarCraft folder in whatever drive you've installed it in.

Then go to Data -> enUS -> Interface -> Cinematics.

The WrathGate video should be there in .avi format, along with all 3 intro cinematics and a short clip showing Blizzard's logo. There are 2 of each videos in 2 resolutions, 1024x768 & 800x600.

The cinematic doesn't show up at all if you're using a language pack, confirmed by a GM I sent a ticket about it to. You can't watch it by talking to the dragon, either.

The GM said you can watch the cinematic by reverting the language to the original language of your installation. If you want to watch it in another language, though, download it from the official world of warcraft site. Be sure to choose the right language site, as the English site only has the English video, the German one has the German video etc. That's what I did.

Finsihing this quest will give you a buff that prevents you to cast any spell, rendering Shamans Astral Recall and Ghost Wolf not being usable. Hearth stones should be usable

I dont have a DK or mage at that level yet, but I do guess Portals and Death Gate are not allowed, as well as Warlock's and Pally's Mount, Druid's Shapeshifting not usable as well. Can someone please confirm?

The one useful NPC remaining there is the flightmaster. He can fly you to Borean Tundra, and you can take the boat from there to stormwind.

Fastest way to go, from what I've seen.

Completing this quest will display a rather impressive cutscene, and awards the Veteran of the Wrath Gate achievement.

On completion:

Korialstrasz says: My Queen, do they know?
Alexstrasza the Life-Binder says: No, my beloved.
Alexstrasza the Life-Binder says: Ashj zila gul kirasath lok ante il lok buras danashj Gul gul
Korialstrasz nods.
Korialstrasz says: They will not.
Alexstrasza whispers: Come to me, <name>.

In Draconic "Ashj zila gul kirasath lok ante il lok buras danashj Gul gul" means "They must not discover the fate of the young paladin. Not yet." when run through the in-game translator. Implying that Bolvar may have survived...one way or another.

This is from wowwiki, apparently due to bug revolving around the AQ gates, some people could gain the "Draconic" language. Does this mean we will see Fordragon as a death knight? Yet, the dragons burned the whole place down and Alexstrasza cannot see through time, that's Nozdormu's thing... or maybe she can? So what's Bolvar's fate? Discuss!

You know, there's one thing that really bugs me about the whole cut-scene...Bolvar should not be staggering around in the toxic whatever whining about how "there's no escape"! He's a friggin' pally! Bubble! Hearth! Bam!

To further strengthen the belief that Bolvar's fate has descended a darker path, one of the visions from the Yogg Saron battle has conversation as follows:

Prisoner: AAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Lich King: Your resilience... is admirable...
Prisoner: *Choking* I... AM NOT AFRAID OF YOU!
Lich King: I will break you as I broke him.
Yogg-Saron: He will learn, no king rules forever! Only death is eternal!
Yogg-Saron: <foreign language>

The voice of the prisoner seems to be that of Bolvar's, meaning that he has probabally been taken by the Lich King. As seen in the conversation between Korialstrasz and Alexstrasza above, the Wyrmrest Accord most likely knows of this and is hiding it from the Alliance in order to give them a hero in a time of crisis, and encourage them to aid the horde in retaking the Undercity. This most likely means Bolvar has been corrupted by the Lich King and could return as a possible encounter in Icecrown Citadel.

When the Lich King says "I will break you as I broke him", he may refering to Highlord Alexandros Mograine.

Lich King may also refer to Saurfang the Younger, horde leader who the Lich King killed at the Wrath Gate. Seeing how a dark orc figure walks up after he says this line.

Its posible that Bolvar still alive? I think it, its a hero, cant die T_T

It is a shame that the best cimematics and the best storyline thus far was followed by the idiocy of whatshisname, the King in Stormwind. It is that line of thinking that makes kings into Lich Kings.

In the Undercity bit, it is possible to die during the battles. Not sure how it happened unless I was smacked by Putress. I got back to my body and only found Jaina in the room with the now dead Putress. I ran down some tunnels and got to the King just as the battle started. Jaina stopped it and ported us all out. But she wasn't in Stormwind.

For those of us Alliance who have completed this quest, in regards to the game phasing, will she ever be in Stormwind again?

I did the quest a while back on my alliance alt and viewed the cutscene and was awarded the Veteran of the Wrathgate achievement. However I didn't get any follow-up quest or Bolvar's shield; I wasn't actually aware until I checked with Wowhead that the quest series didn't end there!
When I went to Tirisfal Glades (as alliance) earlier this week to do the Wicker-man festival etc for Hallow's End, I found the place empty and got messages at the top of the screen that the Alliance were battling for the sewers and that I should help - I rode along and joined in the fun (another alliance player was already there). I got the buffs from Jaina etc and went all the way to the final scene where Jaina freezes everyone etc. The battle ended and a portal for Stormwind came up. After waiting a while and with no messages coming up, I took the portal.
Tirisfal is still empty and UC is full of the rebelling Undead led by Varimathras etc. I am guessing I have problems because I have not finished this entire questline (I finished the Return to Angathar bit but went no further) - however I have nothing in my quest log and no shield of Bolvar. I did submit a ticket but never heard back.
So I can't complete all the Hallow's End fun :(
Any ideas as to what I have done wrong and what I can do to fix it?
All positive suggestions gratefully received!

If you've lost the chain here, as I have, the pre-requisite quest is On Ruby Wings. The very start of the chain is Into Hostile Territory.

I lost it because I abandoned The Chain Gun And You, not realizing it was a part of this quest line.

this quest didn't give me the 5 emblems of heroism for some reason, wasn't in the quest log, I did it at level 80 so maybe that's why?
