The "source of the corruption" is not the wandering named Death Knight; but instead the banshee underneath the tree at the center of the Dragonshrine (once a high elf by the name of Dalilah). The entrance to the under-tree cave is towards the western side.

I'm a bit ashamed to admit I spent a good half-hour killing and rekilling the DK and wondering why my quest wasn't completing before I found Dalilah :(

The Necromancers is all around the tree and the corruption is not the Death Knight it is a banshee under the tree, entrance is at the south side of the tree.

The entrance is exactly at 48, 50. Kill the banshee named Dahlia Suntouch.

Dahlia spits on the ground at the thought of the name.
Remnant of Dahlia Suntouch says: The Lich King is stretching his hand far now... fearlessly treading on the most sacred land of all the flights. He intends to force us to action.

After killing Dahlia, go clockwise around the edge of the shrine to find a nice group of Frigid Necromancers.

Pretty simple quest,,, I went in at 49,44 ( has the least resistance). Killed 6 x Necromancers around the large tree in the center. The cave entrance is located at 48,49 for the 2nd part. You'll also loot a pendant for another quest.

Okay, all the above info is correct and on the money, but:

If you are dense like me -- you looked for a cave in the mountains that surround this little glade. You will not find the cave there.

The cave is actually under the Tree in the center. Not big, you'll see the needed mob from the entrance. But the entrance to the "tree-mound" cave is hard to see unless you are looking right at it -- from the south-east side.

Hope that helps someone and keeps them from being a dork like me and searching the nearby hills over and over. gl <3

Enter the Ruby Dragonshrine through one of the northern or southern passes, then kill 6 Frigid Necromancers and eliminate the source of the corruption under the shrine. Return to Ceristrasz once the task is complete.

I have one final task for you, <race>... one that should turn the tide of this fight.

Return to the shrine and kill the necromancers that are fueling this onslaught. With them dead, we should be able to beat these forces back and eventually retake the shrine.

I also need you to find the source of the corruption under the shrine and put an end to it.

I know I have asked a lot of you, but if you do this for me, we will win this battle.
