Dreadtalon patrols around the small area of 45,44. If you don't have a ranged pull (I play retribution paladin) you can stand on his nest and the carcass and he'll be body pulled.

Pretty easy for a feral druid, but really any druid would have a good time with this one. He's vulnerable to roots, only hits for about 400 damage when you're in bear, and is stunnable. Only annoying part is his 104k health... took me about 3 minutes to kill him, I'd just natures grasp whenever I got a bit low on health, run back, heal myself, then go back in.

He likely is vulnerable to most snares, but I can't say for sure.

Very easy as a level 74 Feral Druid. No upgrades in WTLK, just using my old TBC gear all be it fairly decent stuff (5 x T6 + BT & badge) and it never got me below 95% HP.

As a paladin with the standard (10 yard) range on my judgements I can not do this quest solo. He flies higher then 10 yards high in the air.
Thanks alot Blizzard, making me run around jumping both on and off my mount :(

Crit-Chickens (Moonkin) can solo this easily. He is rootable. Might take a while to whittle down his health, but if you pay attention to your roots and wraths, you never get hit.

Easily soloed as a 72 Death Knight. Plague Strike, Icy Touch, Blood Strike, Death Strike and you're good to go! Feel free to throw in some Death Coil, Unholy Blight and Scourge Strike to add some extra flavor.

i soloed him on a 63 Shadow Preist. He's not that hard at all and he's just North of Ruby Dragonshire on a Peak Looking down at it.

Soloed as a lvl 74 Ret Pally. This quest can be done as a Ret Pally. I, too, could not draw him down to attack.

In reading the above posts, even if you stand on the carcass or his eggs, he wouldn't attack.

I positioned myself in his nest on top of the eggs. Finally, with a well timed jump, I was able to get him to attack. Lots of heals later, and one mana pot, and presto, one dead bird.

Solo'ed as a level 72 Holy/Disc Priest (Smite Spec w/ Imp Spirit)

Always kept a renew up and was liberal about my shield. Each renew would usually heal through all of the attacks.

On cloth, I was usually being hit for 600-630. Aside from the occasional crit (1500+), this quest is fairly easy. Just make sure you use your mana fiend when you are at about ~65% mana.

When you get low on Mana, just sit and regen. Keep a shield and renew up with the occasional PoM. And just wand him.

As a level 72 Enhancement Shaman, first I used my Earth Elemental Totem. Whenever I got aggro I would you wind shock. I would keep the elemental healed as well. When the totem faded I used my dogs and I too only 2k damage from the boss.

easy soled by 74 lvl T4 Enhancement Shammy... Put Str, mana and wf totems... pull him by LB... summon wolfs, use BL and Shamanistic Rage... now just nuke...

Solo'd as a 72 DK. Unholy spec.

I died and came back as ghoul, as i was stupid with the diseases, but if you got the pet up and use 1 disease you should be fine. Rotate between Icy touch + Plauge strike for each deathstrike.

Should be easy then.

Solo'd it with a 73 Affliction warlock was very easy haunt+ siphon life+ drain life and just recasted dots when needed, i was using felhunter, note i am in t5/s2/badge gear whith 1200 spell power, with just fel armor buffed.

Solo'd as a lvl 71 Ret Pally, and for me, it was extremely hard. If you're planning on doing this and you don't have epic gear from TBC, don't try this. I had to pop both my LoH and a bubble, and I STILL almost died. I learned pretty quickly in this fight not to try it with SoB, and stick to SoComm, that old standby. Eventually, you'll run out of mana and will have to stick with Judgements to get it back (if you specced into that). All in all, a challenging fight with a good reward.

Fairly easy quest for a 74 Protection Warrior.
I just just kept Command Shout up and made sure Dreadtalon had Demoralizing Shout and Thunder Clap on him.
He was hitting me for about 300-500.
It took me a few minutes to kill him, just because I lack in Dps.

Soloed as 73 pvp surv spec, put down a frost trap and ran around it with him always being in it and renew it whenever cooldown was up, fd viper to full mana then get aggro back from pet with distracting shot

Easy tank and spank i even was able to judge the wisdom instead of light, just the regular stuff consecrete etc
very easy to solo ended up with full hp and 50% mana

As level 72 warlock,I was able to solo this quest. I am full demonology and used my voidwalker. I did immolation,corruption and curse of agony followed by incinerate and
searing pain. would then heal my voidwalker and then drain life. just keep doing all these and drain life and heal VW as needed.

Solo'd as a 73 enhance shaman with regular quest greens from Borean Tundra.

Just use Earth Elemental and DPS while keeping him healed. If you gain aggro just keep DPSing, nothing special. I burned him down just when my elemental's totem expired--2 mins.

Everything I read said this was going to be a long fight so as a 72 BM hunter with a level 71 cat pet here's how I soloed Dreadtalon (DT).
To keep my mana up, I just ran with Aspect of the Viper on all the time until the very end. Brought him down to the ground with Serpent Sting then basically set the pet on him, immediately cast Mend Pet and watched the pets health.
DT damaged my pet more than the heals healed him, so whenever my pet got below 50%, I recast Mend Pet, Concussive shotted DT then hit him with Distracting Shot and set off running.
When he caught up with me, the timing was just about right for the pet to Growl him back (meanwhile, the pet had got 3-4 heals in while DT was chasing me). Then I just rinsed and repeated, reapplying Serpent Sting and bandaging myself when DT got a few hits in on me.
Slow fight took me around 5 minutes but because Aspect of the Viper knocked down my damage by so much, I never really had aggro on me for more than a few seconds.
AoTV kept my mana around 90% throughout the whole fight. Location 44,41

I waited out to solo the group quests until 76 as Moonkin.

It was incredibly easy, I downed him without ever having to leave Moonkin to heal. Simply root, dot, treant, and use Eclipse dps routine.

I'm really surprised i'm the first mage to comment here - as frost he is stupidly easy, just time consuming.
Just use mana gems as soon as you get to 75% mana so the CD is off again before the end of the fight, and make sure your WE is up most of if not all of the time :)

He is slowed enough for you to literally never get hit without running away, just blink or nova and step back a little if blink is on CD, and you'll beat him easy.

(I'm level 72, in leveling gear)

When we already have 1001 of the same class and level ‘toons imparting tales of epic conquests, wouldn't it be better to save your stories for the grandkids or your therapist? Jeezus H. Kristos, peeps: Now we know (from all five druids who posted here) that druids can solo this; and we know (from all 5 pallies that posted here as well) that pallies got it all locked up nice an tight here too... Same goes for the reposting of the shammies and the dks and the locks...

Thankfully only one (count it - 1) priest, one warrior, and one mage posted here letting anyone who hasn't done this one quest that it's possible for that class and level range to solo this quest...

How about any class that hasn't filled us in yet, go ahead and give us the scoop, and any class that's been here before - just keep it to yourself (ok, maybe you can tell the barkeep too ‘cause he might seem like he gives a rats a$$...).

Props to the 3 posters who gave us valuable game-play info without getting into self-congratulatory accolades.

Easily solo'd by a 75 shadow priest. Didn't drop below 80% of health, even.
Shield,DoT, VE, MB, MF,MF, MF, MB, etc.
Surprisingly easy.

This is a very easy quest for Retri paladin,, Pull with HoR-Judge-DS-CS- rep. and throw in som Exorcsim,, no need for heals, just HoJ one time and use DS and you should be at full hp

Soloed as a level 72 shadowpriest.
I pulled with vt+swp+dp then just kited him around the pile of bones while refreshing swp+dp and if he slowed down i would renew vt.
Healing from ve and shielding on every cooldown. Use shadowfield as either a distraction and fade and get some mind blast or mind flays or use dispersion if he crits and your shield fails while on cooldown

Easily solo'd as a 74 demo lock. Used vw to hold aggro and dotted him to death. With demo spec the damage I did healed my vw so the only way I could have failed is if I ran out of mana.

I couldn't make it as a 72 Combat Rogue wearing mostly greens and some blues. Had to use my bow to lure him down = no stealth and no Cheap Shot to give me advantage and combo points.
Popped Evasion and Adrenaline Rush, then got 5 combo points. Tried both with Rupture and Eviscerate.

Drank Health Potion, used Bandage, but he never got below 40%.

Again, Rogues suffer.

easy to solo as a 72 demo lock, used felguard. no problems keeping the pets health up, putted dots on the mob and spammed health funnel. i didn't even use metamorphosis. took me 2-3 mins to kill him

72 Prot pally, soloing him as a write this. using seal of light and judement of light keeping devine plea up... this is very very easy...Brb....Just went out to have a smoke, came back and was at 45% life...yeah easy mode for prot pally wearing the Cobalt tanking set with the husk shield.

Point and case super easy as prot.

Solo'd as a level 71 Frost Mage. Was pretty easy, with the frostbolt slows, ice barrier, and frost nova, he didn't touch me mouch. Did almost run out of mana a few times but I used a mana potion and evocation when he was frozen once.

Ridiculously easy.

Had less than 1k hp missing at the end of the battle, took me ~3 minutes to solo as a level 73 unholy death knight.

Dreadtalon makes his home on a bluff overlooking the Ruby Dragonshrine, east of Agmar's Hammer. He should be approached with extreme caution. Do not engage solo!
