Ok for 74 frost DK (beta build 8820) and probably any other DK, I used this strategy to solo him:

Start in Frost presence because you want to build a lot of threat ASAP so he doesn't deaggro and run back.

Wait for him near where he paths closest to Moa'ki Harbor. Spam Chains of Ice and Death Coil until you are at Moa'ki Harbor. With the frost talent Chill of the Grave you should be able to DC him every 2 chains. The tuskarr will not help you, it's best to take him here so you do not aggro any of the nearby wolvars while you are doing your kiting routine.

At this point it's safe to use your ghoul to help you out and use Blood Presence or Unholy Presence to get the speed boost (if you need it). Just kite him back and forth along the northern perimeter of the village. Keep doing this and maybe even throw in a Death and Decay or even Icy Touch to wittle his health away without getting touched (much). Find an opportunity to bandage a bit if he does manage a few swings in.

He hits for about 1.5K on 38% damage reduction from armor. He does an attack that will do about 3K+ damage.

Co ord's are pretty accurate, he patrols around the little village to the SE of Agmar's Hammer, it's marked on your map by a cluster of 3 houses.

This is soloable as a Death Knight, but it takes a bit more work than just killing a normal elite.

First off, your best friend is Death Strike, as always. Spam it every time it's up. If you run low on HP, you can actually Chains of Ice this guy and bandage up. Use Icebound Fortitude every single time it's up, don't wait for your HP to drop low.

The most important part, NEVER STOP MOVING. You have to continually walk backwards in order to solo him because his Gigantaur Smash ability will tear you apart, however it has a very very small range, so by moving backwards you'll get out of it before it goes off.

It took me 3 tries. First time I didn't move, used potion, got him down to 26k. Second time I didn't move, sac'd Ghoul/used potion, got him down to 9k. Third time I moved, didn't use any cooldowns other than Gargoyle and IBF, and won with ~100% HP.

Hope that helps.

Edit: Also ensure that you have Frost Presence on, else he hits like a bloody truck.

This is another one that Crit-Chickens (Moonkin Druids) can solo with tea and cake. The mob likes to wander around the wolverine village, from near the Azure Dragonshrine all the way to the other end of the village and back. Just hunt for him in this area. Then do the usual: Root, wrath until the roots break, re-root.

The changes to Roots that make them break at a fixed amount of damage make this a very predictable fight. :)

Found him a little south of coord, He doesn't have that big of wandering path, but how can you miss something that big & ugly? Tried solo as a 75 Unholy/Blood DK, forget it, even with Frost Presence was taking serious damage with 15k armor & still smacking me for 900-1k+. Got him down to 30k but too much life at this point.. Best idea, grab someone & have fun.. It can be done with just 2 so 3 is just overkill unless they need the quest as well..

Good place to tank him is on the cliff area just after he turns around (around 51, 64)... No pats, mobs in the area, so you don't have to worry about anything extra spawning.

Soloable as a lvl 72 ret pali, difficult but still soloable. However you do need some moderately good gear. The idea is to time the heals right in addition to keeping the dmg up. Whatever you do don't consecrate, it'll just cause you to burn up you're mana pool that much faster. As soon as you get flung from his big boom (or whatever its called) tap a holy light, if you have sheath of light specced and get a crit it'll make this fight all the more easier. I didn't have to use my bubble or lay on hands, but expect to do so anyways.

Solo'ed as 75 Hunter, dident have the quest though. just wanted to see if i could :p
Key point to do this is, keep pet healing up. take agro by distraction shot when ur pet is getting low on health, and do some smart kiting with disengage :p
(did it with a dps pet btw, getting a tank pet with taunt and last stand etc will make it alot easier)

Solo'd as a 74 arcane mage, Northrend quest greens with a couple of quest blues thrown in.

Very easy fight if you are good at kiting. Slow him and you can outrun him. Then its a simple matter of keeping slow up AT ALL TIMES, while kiting and spamming ABarrage and Fire Blast.

He can hit for 4k+ on cloth - my first attempt I had him down to 2% health (~5000hp) and my slow buff was wearing off of him, but I *thought* I could just stand still and chop him down with my Missle Barrage & Arcane Barrage finishing combo....wrong, he 2 shotted me before I could.

Second attempt was fouled by an alliance druid @ 90%, not even close. 3rd attempt he didnt even get a single hit on me. There is a fairly big area with no mobs where you can kite him in a huge square/circle, say about: 48, 63 to 50, 63, (top points of square) and 48,66 to 50,66 (bottom points).

Only other thing to note is that its a fairly long battle, upwards of 4 minutes. I had on all the spirit gear I have (~370 regen while casting) and still had to use my mana gem twice. Make sure you have some way of keeping mana up for the duration. He is NOT immune to frost nova, so you can try a nova/evocate combo but its dicey as his attack range seemed to be only marginally shorter than the range of my frost nova, so if you get a little too close and he gets a lucky crit, thats half your health...

Ive tried a few times to solo this guy and deemed it impossible as of now. You simply cannot advoid his main damage move.. That smash thing or whatever. Either A. Your hamstringed and cant move quick enough or it seems if you try to move while he is casting he just instantly finishes the cast time of the spell and hits you anyway. I can out heal it as a 72 ele shaman but you just go oom too fast if you cant advoid that damage. GG

Edit: Ok i change my mind. I can make this fight very simple: If he hamstrings you, you loose the game. Thats it.

Did him as a 75 ret paladin. Just having 10k hp and a pool of 4700 this was a very, very hard fight. I had to bubble and use lay on hand. The first thing i noticed during the first few seconds of the fight was that i cant outheal his dmg output and do dmg at same time. It wasnt hard to get away from his smack. I dragged him down to the town and the guards killed him. I bubbled, healed, waited, he came at me with 50% hp left. A while later i used lay on hands and he was down to 15% at that point i could "kite" him. It was just luck.

Soloed as a lvl 73 Blood sped death knight.

its alot easier if you have your back face against a wall.

summon ghoul and get on mount and get aggro and run down the ledge without taking fall damage. have back face against a wall. pop icebound fort and apply mark of blood. Time it right to use blood pact. build up rp for gargoyle and keep reapplying dot and death strike (don't use death coil or rune strike). use pot first, then rune tap when needed. reapply icebound fort when its back up.

if you have control of your ghoul, use gnaw to stun it whenever it is up.

Soloed as a 76 Lock (26/41). Let the voidwalker tank, watch your aggro (I could not place more than two dots safely) and use health funnel to keep voidy alive. He really hits hard, so have soulshatter handy if you overcook it -- you will not live long if he starts beating on you.

Basically just take your time :-).

Solod as a lvl 72 Prot Paladin for

At first i didnt know about his blow so yes silly me pulled him at a edge, wich then got thrown down there, i had to use Lay on hands because he was after me no time to heal and healing would take all my mana at the begin of the fight
fairly easy, get you back against something, so when he hits you wont be flying all over the place .
Also dont use consecrete you will need the mana, when you are high at hp use divine plea if you are low on mana
Keep holy shield up and if you do it right, most of his blows will miss or get dodged
keep seal of light on and use the judgement of light
if you get a blow pop a holy light or a flash of light depends on how low on hp you are takes some time to get him killed but its easy
i did pop divine shield at the end, cause i saw a allie walking by and he only had 1k hp left

For those feral druids out there, he is not immune to Entangling Roots.

Throw on a tanking set, kite with a mix of Nature's Grasp, Entangling Roots, and Feral Faerie Fire. Take him to the harbor, let the guards help you out. More often then not, there will be a few players of either faction around, so watch your maul and roar, else you hit a player of the opposite faction.

As a 73 demo/destro lock (still in T4 equivalent 70 epics) you can brute force it with a felguard as long as you keep health funnel up a decent chunk of the time. I'd assume if you spec'd into Improved Health Funnel it'd take much less funnelling. I tried throwing in spells occasionally but that just added to my healing threat so I'd catch up with my pet's threat even faster so I just went with funnelling then popping demonic empowerment every time it was up and Curse of Weakness every time it dropped off. If you feel like messing with los'ing with trees you could probably dodge his special attack but it's pretty simple to heal through it.

I'm stunned no one has mentioned easy mode on this guy. Assuming you've done some questing and you're friendly with The Kalu'ak, wait for him and tag him at around 51.68, then kite him toward Moa'ki Harbor. You should have ample time to get to around 49.71 where there are plenty of Moa'ki Warriors just dying to help you kill this guy on the way. The only problem might be avoiding the Snowfall Glade Reavers so you may want to clear a few of them first, but the guards will help with them too. Easily soloable as a 72 warlock using this method.

I just solo'd Gigantaur & Dreadtalon as a lvl 70 Frost Spec DK. Making my way towards the B.Elf now! =)
I took most damage from "Gigantic Blow" or summat like that. It hit me for... 15% health? and knocked me back a bit.

And I just Alt+Tabbed to find he had his revenge and killed me when I typed this. D=

Solo'd as a level 71 unholy DK (No really lol), kited him around useing chains of ice, letting my ghoul stay frenzied whacking him, turned round to deathcoil every so often just made big circles in the forest area near to the Blue dragonshrine took a good 10mins though.

Pretty easy to solo as a 73 enh shaman.

I waited for him at around 51,65, and set up my totems. When he approached I used Feral Spirit and send them to attack to make sure they had initial aggro. You should be able to hold on your own until he drops to about 50-60%. You might need to use Maelstrom Weapon for heals instead of damage, safer that way. At that point I used my earth elemental. When the elemental was about to go down I started retreating towards the Kalu'ak village, using frost shock and stoneclaw totem to make sure I am in the clear from him. Kite him inside the village and let the Kalu'ak do the rest.

As of 3.2 it seems that the Kalu'ak will no longer attack Gigantaur. I just spent 5 minutes running around in their camp, slowly killing him. Still doable for any ranged class with slows, just slightly harder.

Soloed on first try with a lvl 72 feral druid - equipped with crappy outland/early northrend greenies. A few close calls and had to blow every CD I have. As said the key is to use Nature's Grasp and back away to heal/bandage. I needed to innervate, surv. inst., pot, etc. to last through it. Also did a few bash+warstomp heals which I think I wouldn't have made it without doing them :)

Oh, and make sure to plan where you attack him, as he indeed pushes you 10-15 yds back all the time (lots of mobs, hill edges close by).

All in all, yet another fun group quest to solo :)

They really made this guy difficult. I'm gonna need a party or a new tactics, as I can't deal with him (yet) as a 77 dualspec elemental / resto shaman.

The goddamn lazy walrus-people of Moa'Ki won't help you anymore, and you can't hope to kite him to Aggmar's Hammer. He breaks out of combat about 150 meters from city gates, and runs away. Coward.

I'd also like to point out that giving him a hamstring ability is a little overkill.

This one was very difficult for me as a 75 shadow priest in TBC raiding epix. Dreadtalon was a walk in the park compared to Gigantaur. I'm going to attempt kiting him to the village instead of your standard solo fight. There was just waaay too much damage coming in on a little clothie to make this doable for a spriest. If you're a priest trying to solo this guy, good luck to you.

Wow... I just kited him through hell and back. First, I kited him to Wyrmrest, to see if the guards there would attack him. They didn't, so I kept kiting east to Venomspite. The guards there didn't attack him either, so I went through Venomspite, back down the other path, and then back around west, back through Wyrmrest, and to the Horde side of the Ruby Dragonshrine, where he managed to Hamstring me as I tried to turn around and then proceeded to chop me into tiny pieces.

I'm thinking that all the guards in this zone are programmed to leave him alone.

Quite easy as a hunter, it would be better if BM, just send pet and mend it when needed, use aspect of viper as mana recovery, apply serpent sting and auto shot it, so you dont get much aggro with arcane and other shots. Hoped i helped, oh and i was lvl 75 when i killed him so, well i dont know if it changes much but whatever, bye

If you're a priest ignore this quest till someone else needs it.
This guy shows how stupid some of the elites are, able to be snared but immune to horror/fear. Will use hamstring on you so you can't run out from gigantic blow.

Just tried to solo this on a 74 Death Knight with no such luck. The backpedaling technique did not allow me to completely out range his Gigantaur Smash ability, and the area he patrols is riddled with stray mobs that you're bound to aggro if you don't take 30 minutes to clear the lot of them.

Tough solo, but for all the wrong reasons.

I guess i could do it if i had Imp. Ghost Wolf and Shamanistic focus for mana.

IDEA nr 2:

Duallspecc = resto
Put Earth elemental, and heal him.
Earth elemental took him to 85% and i was oom, it took around 1:30 min, (elemental lasts 2 mins so it would be fail anyway)

Seems that i can't solo it :(

Solo'd as a lvl 73 UH DK using frost presence on my first try. I even inadvertently aggroed two other mobs on me during the fight. I didn't bother backpedaling to avoid his ability, just spammed Death Strike every time it was up. I'm pretty geared, at 16.8k health but never fell below about 9k.

Soloed on a 73 hunter. This guy hits like a goddamn truck so your pet can't really tank him for very long. I had to essentially spam Distracting Shot and keep kiting him around with Cheetah while keeping Mend Pet active at all times. Whenever my pet's Cower came off of CD, I would use that to buy some time and swap into Viper aspect to get mana back.

But yeah, basic strategy here is to just constantly pingpong the mob back and forth between you and your pet so that your pet has time to heal up in between eating melee hits.
