The only intelligent way to do this quest is while using Xink's Shredder Control Device.
Do this quest along with Lumber Hack.

Found the Mistress at 46,11. She is a 74 elite and can be soloed using the Shredder.

Note: using the shredder on the non-elites prevents you from getting XP or loot.

If you forgot to do this quest while you are doing the Shredder one, you can still get the Shredder from Xink, just talk with him.

quest is bugged, can't use any abilities, very frustrating.

74 Belf priest in Sunwell gear: cast renew on yourself, and PoM, go shadow; PWS, VT, SWP, VE, MB, MF spam; when bubble breaks, recast. If you can silence (either spec'ed or Belf racial) interrupt her cast. Fear if you get into trouble. Disperse with max DoTs on her. She dies pretty easily this way...

Above coords are good, but she snuck up on me and layed the smackdown on me. After the corpse run, I noticed in my log that she does huge chunks of nature damage, so hunters, here's another great opportunity to use Aspect of the Wild, then she's a piece of cake.

There are prerequisites to get this quest. You have to do the quest from all 3 gnomes:

Then it opens other quests. I'm not sure which one is required, but I did:

After I did these quests, "Harp on this" was available. Note that Lumber Hack was not required, but I did it at the same time.

Note that there are two of her. One "image" or something on the left down where you come up to the harpies, and one much further nw, in the valley. We spent ages trying to attack the image before we checked at the coords posted above and managed to kill her.
Anyone that knows what the image is for anyway, except to annoy questers?

Soloed Mistress of the Coldwin as a 76 bm hunter. just let pet tank and mend pet and use all cooldowns and it should be fine.

I messed this one up and didn't use the shredder. She is a lvl 74 elite with 51000+ health. She has a hit that does 2400+ damage...almsot died as lvl 78 dk but someone came along to help at the last moment lol. Keep the shredder, you will need it...if you don't have bring a couple people

If, while you're doing you also have you can use Xink's Shredder to easily take out the Coldwind Harpies as well as Mistress of the Coldwind!

I soloed it on accident without the shredder because i forgot and died got it down to 5k health as an enhancement shaman lvl 73 it has 50k health and i went back with shredder and killed it. (im so stupid lol)

i was able to solo this as a lvl 72 demo warlock. took one healthstone, and alot of fearing.

must have the shredder,from the tree quest you just did, you can get another from the quest giver, with him it's cake.

The shredder whartanto refers to comes from the Lumber Hack quest. Do them at the same time since the boss is hard to solo normally but much easier if you're using the goblin shredder from the Lumber Hack quest, which you do in the same area anyway.

Even if you're a dum dum like me and turn the shredder quest in before completing this one you can go back to Xink and he will give you another Shredder Control thingy.

Kill the Mistress of the Coldwind and 15 Coldwind harpies in the mountains northwest of Nozzlerust Post. Return to Narf once the task is complete.
