I read of this quest before the launch, but getting to Agmar's Hammer and this quest on your own, and afterwards nearly getting fed to Agmar's wolves for holding another letter and delivering it to him, I really got goosebumps from the atmosphere there... and I didn't even finish the Borean Tundra quests yet, a friend told me that Agmar's Hammer would look rather different then.

Messenger Torvus is not whispering me; I cannot seem to grab this quest.

My boyfriend has been doing the same quests as me (and with me in fact), and he told me he got this quest. Can you imagine my confusion? Is there a prereq for this I somehow managed to not get? Or is there a bug going around...?

EDIT: Today he decided I was worthy of his quest. I have NO idea why. I guess this quest is just completely random in when you get it.

This is a creepy quest. It makes you wonder if the Horde is going back to the ways of WC and WC2 orcs, despite Thrall doing his best to stop it. The Horde has, after all, grudgingly accepted the help of the Forsaken, and even orc warlocks and death knights. What's next? Grudgingly accepting demonic blood to kill a night elven demi-god? Oh wait.

Sorry for asking... but would someone please tell me how to get this quest? I go to Messenger Torvus, and he doesn't speak to me or give me a quest.. Any ideas are appreciated.

I must apologize for the secrecy. Agmar demands that all mail is read before delivery - too many traitors and thieves there, as the wanted poster no doubt displays. There are delicate matters herein that could easily be misconstrued by the new guard.

For a soldier of the Horde, loss is absolute. Loss means death and there is no negotiation or interpretation with death. One can only hope that the manner of their death was honorable.

But victory ... Victory can mean many things. As you have probably noticed, the Kor'kron are there in full force. The Warchief has sent his elite guard to help secure victory in Northrend. They, along with you and other heroes, are pushing the Lich King and his forces towards an inevitable conclusion. With each challenge you overcome, we are one step closer to ridding our world of Arthas and the Scourge.

And therein lays the dilemma. For you see our forces in Northrend work under the auspices of young Hellscream. Each victory bolsters the morale of the Horde forces here, which carries through to the rest of Azeroth.

It is unfortunate, then, that Hellscream employs such savage tactics. As victory approaches, Hellscream gains further justification for his methods, which in turn brings us closer to a place we have not been in many years: a dark place.

I have sent my son to command our forces at the Wrathgate. I know that he will battle with honor and I remain hopeful that his courage and tenacity will be noticed and emulated by our forces. He is my heart and strength in a place that I cannot be... You will be my eyes and ears. Together, we will make it right.

Blood and Thunder ... May your arrival bring them both.

Anyone know if there's a follow up quest? The messager said he would inform someone (Thrall or Hellscream i believe), So it kinda leaves you hanging in what is gonna happen next....

The closest thing i can think of is to do the chain quest that ends with "Get to Getry"

Those were the only major questlines that i actually completed in borean tundra with my shaman that got this quest. Plus it makes sense.

Since the quest is from Saurfang, i just did all quests in Borean involving him. I first went to howling with that char, no quest, and then did those qs involving him in borean, and the q was there.

One character of mine did all the Borean Tundra quests, including the exodus of the Taunka, and followed the "breadcrumbs" to the Hammer. It got this quest.

The other character of mine did all the Howling Fjord quests. It did not get this quest.

So, what are you accepting when you do this quest? Does it lead to anything later, or do you just get to read the letter?

Getting this letter makes the events at the Wrath Gate more poignant. Of course, doing the Hand of Vengeance quests from Howling Fjord and bringing the Blight to Dragonblight is even more wrenching.

I did all of Borean Tundra with the exception of The Plains of Nasam. After turning in The Plains of Nasam I received and completed Hellscream's Champion. After turning that in Messenger Torvus would speak to me.

I should add I completed all of the quests in Agamar's Hammer before turning in The Plains of Nasam. I was saving it so a friend could drive the tank and see it. I am pretty sure that Hellscream's Champion is the prerequisite that triggers Messenger Torvus.

It makes sense that you have to complete the quest lines involving Saurfang as he aids you and takes you into his confidence during those quests. Obviously he wouldn't write a letter to a complete stranger.

Interesting quest. It's kind of an immersion thing. The developers basically seem to have put this quest in kind of to reassure Horde fans that "Yeah, things are going to be alright". You basically go up to this point in Northrend hacking off dwarf brains, poisoning dragon whelps and being dishonourable. Then one of the Horde's largest heroes mails you and tells you exactly what's going on.

I cleared Howling Fjord on arriving in Northrend then went to Dragonblight. Following Jame's leveling add-on, I was puzzled when I couldn't get this quest.

Following other wowhead comments, and just confirming this tonight, for those of you who never ran any Borean Tundra quests, you must do the following to become eligible for this quest:

Defense of Warsong Hold chain
The Wondrous Bloodspore chain

Upon finishing both chains and completing the final quest Hellscream's Champion, you will be eligible for this quest.

A lot of people seem to think that Garrosh will soon go the way of Arthas, and I agree. Blizz is really doing everything they can to make him out to be a bad guy.

well i got annoyed enough at this, that i abandoned it. then it came back available and i was able to complete it. easy enough.

I went to get this quest from him and there was no quest to get.... not sure why. But this quest isn't working.

it must be bugged as I have done all the quests on borean tundra and could not get the quest. yet others haven't done all the quests there and have gotten the quest. weird
