I flew off and did a few other quest and when I came back (maybe 30 mins later) I was able to take the quest and save the girl. =)

If you get the " you don't meet the requirements " thing, someone else is doing the quest. When the dragons return, however, you will still not be able to pick up the quest until you relog.

There must be several bugs to this quest. I too got the error message. I was both mounted and in a group when it bugged. I read the forums, dropped group, unmounted, relogged, nothing. Restarted WoW, nothing. Quested elsewhere for a few hours (with a few relogs interspersed), nothing. Logged out for the night, still bugged in the morning. I also saw the dragons disappear and reappear in front of me, so there's no issue of someone else constantly being on the quest.

EDIT: Like magic, it started working about an hour later. The only thing that changed in between was I finished the DHETA quests. Maybe there's an unintended prereq there also? Or maybe there's something else entirely that I can't explain.

If you get "You do not meet the requirements for this quest" just do the following:

1. Wait for the dragons to come back
2. Relog
3. Accept the quest!

Just have to emphasize YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RELOG.

The quest will appear shortly after the dragons reappear.

I believe the reason is that there can only be one person on the quest at a time.

For some people, waiting/relogging are not enough. I had tried waiting for about a half an hour and tried relogging as well, and I still couldn't pick up the quest. The dragons came back multiple times. I finally opened a ticket and a GM helped me find a solution. So for those of you who are still stuck, here you go:

1) Run back to the tower at Amber Ledge.
2) Log off inside of the tower.
3) Disable all of your mods.
4) Log back in.

That should do it. Good luck!

I followed palindromes advices but the questgiver does not show exclamation anymore, talked to a few horde players by the amber ledge and everybody saying not able to continue the quest.

I opened a ticket to a GM, and he told me that if I already did try to relog and disable addons there is nothing I could do to solve the issue.

I hope to be able to complete borean tundra quest achievement despite not being able to do this series of quest, according to wowhead this quest leads to other 4 more.

What happened for me was, I turned it in as someone was leaving on the dragons. The quest npc was standing alone, with the dragons flying off into the distance. It let me turn in the quest, then promptly made the sound for quest failure while simultaneously playing the quest completed music, and then said in the system text "You are not qualified for this quest." or something similar.

He then had nothing more for me to do - I was worried, but stood around waiting for the dragons to return to see if anything would happen. When they respawned, nothing happened at first, but eventually a ! appeared over his head, and I was able to finish the chain. It just took a short wait for this to happen, very odd, but nothing had to be done on my part, just the waiting (maybe 30 seconds after they respawned). Hope this helps.

The trick seems to be causing the quest giver to disappear.

I had to fly all the way back to Warsong Hold, then return before he reset properly.

I got the "do you don't meet the requirements for that quest" message. I waited for the dragons to come back, and nothing. I waited longer still, and someone eventually came talked to the battlemage, then took the dragons.

So, I relogged. Then I got to do the quest.

The quest reappeared for me while alt+tabbing to check this web page.

So it doesn't take long at all, just make sure you are unmounted, out of a party, the wyrms are present, etc.

I got no such message at all. My poartied friend got it fine, for me i accepted the quest but it didnt take me flying at all. no error message or anything, i have the quest in my log, it just doesnt take me flying.

Altough, you guys talk of waiting for some dragons tor espawn, there was none when i got there and after 20 minutes of abandoning quest and retrying, i never saw any spawn

I got that message about not meeting requirements. Now the icon above his head wont come back and ive relogged 3 times. I can talk to him when the dragons arent there but as soon as they appear i cant talk to him

This was my fix after the - TAKING FLIGHT - quest to be able to get - RESCUING EVANOR-

I made sure I was unmounted. I logged in the tower.
I deleted my WTF folder. Moved all addons to a temp folder.
Restarted wow. ran over unmounted. and I was able to get the quest. and complete - DRAGONSPEAK - and - TRAVERSING THE RIFT.-

ALL 4 quests done. and Now Friendly with Kirin Tor.

In order to get this quest, you must first complete Reforging the Key.

if u was moving or mounted u must delete the quest and relog then the quest 'll open for u

If you are mounted you will need to logout and back in before the quest will show again, at least as of 3.0.3

You will also have to log out and back in again if you accept the quest and you are not level 71.

I didn't realise the level restriction and the message said you do not meet the requirements for this quest.

Anzim doesn't offer the quest again and it is removed from you quest log. To get Anzim to offer the quest again, log out and back in.
