When you get the quest take the closest slope down and you will see him at the end of the cave.
He is bigger then the other murlocs so spotting him will not be a problem.

after someone finishes the quest, the quest giver runs out of the cave. So if hes not in the cage when you come to return the quest just wait for him to respawn.

Monitoring the Rift: Winterfin Cavern and Them! and On Noes, the Tadpoles! and Keymaster Urmgrgl can all be done at the same time, then once those are finished, start Escape from the Winterfin Caverns on your way out.

This one had me wandering, even with coordinates.

Go past the entrance of the cave, and take the first right. Go down the narrow corridor until you reach the fork. Stay right, and you should see the ramp immediately. Circle down the ramp. At the bottom, in the room ahead of you, Keymaster is in the back. He's an easy kill.

To finish, go back up the ramp and into the room on your right. You should see your prisoner immediately ahead of you.

You can help speed up the respawn by helping him exit the cave. As soon as he makes it out he disappears and respawns at the cage withing 20secs or so.

He respawns in less than a few minutes.

Edit: And in the minute I took to write that comment, he respawned again.

Funfact: ~~although the respawn time is reportedly 10 minutes~~*, when I was down there he respawned every 2 minutes or so, such that there were at one point 4 of his corpses on the floor simultaneously.

*this refers to information that used to be displayed on wowhead but has since been removed. The mechanic I describe - of rapidly respawning quest-related mobs - was introduced some time early in WOTLK to resolve the notorious old problem of a mob being constantly required, camped and on a long respawn timer. Quest-objective mobs will now respawn very shortly after being killed. It affects old content retroactively, and is a good reason to get out of the habit of standing on a quest mob for any length of time after you've killed it.

I don't intend to be controlled like these others!

Keymaster Urmgrgl is in the cave below and to the south. He holds the key to my cage. Get it from him and bring it back so that I can unlock my cage and get out of here.
