You will find Grulloc at 60, 47. Use the Sablemane's Sleeping Powder to put him to sleep and grab his sack. He will only sleep for a few seconds so grab it and run away!

It's not instant cast ... i believed what you said and went close him and ... died casting the powder ^^
(about 1-1,5 sec cast time)

It's also true it can break very fast ...
Description is 'up to 30sec' but 2nd time i died again - he slept only about 5 sec :P

Make sure you have a spot free in your inventory before trying this. I didn't have any space and realised that when I started looting the sac. Luckily, he was sleeped for around 10 seconds so I managed to do it. :)

He can also resist the powdercast! And he hits clothies for 1200-1800.

This is how I did when I finally completed it:
1) Get close enough to use the powder and use the first charge.
2) Run close enough to grab the bag, and use the second charge.
3) Grab the bag and use the third charge.
4) Run away.
5) ???
6) Profit!

It's Great for those that had no problem with this quest. I applaud your LUCK. I'm a 68 Warrior w/ over 10k armor and 8.3k life and died trying to apply the powder cause all three charges were RESISTED. For those of you that get upset easily at dumb quests....pass this one up or you may have a heart attack. By far the worst quest i have seen in WoW thus far. 3 charges that may not work and even if the first one does, it may only work for one second and the next two may not work...i'd say a 20% chance TOPS to complete this quest the first try without dying.

68 lock - stand far enough away, and just creep forward, while clicking on item... once it worked, i ran up, looted, and ran straight away until i left combat - first try, lucky apparently

and this is very much worth doing as its such a lengthy chain...

easy doing this technique:

This is how I did when I finally completed it:
1) Get close enough to use the powder and use the first charge.

2nd charge-worked, ran in, looted bag, INVENTORY IF FULL!!, ran away.
3rd charge-worked, looted, BoPed and ran away. SUCCESS!

First i Tried Sap, but he was immune.. then i thoght, hey, i can use cheap shot and stun him for 4sec, but he was immune to that aswell, so i got one hit and had 95hp left :)

I just made it with the sleeping powder ang got the sack, and used Vanish :)

68 Shadow priest, powdered him once, ran at the bag and got it, he woke up and gave me some tasty hits but i just powdered him again and ran away. No resists here. :)

Got the sack , but he got 2 hits on me while i was running away. One of wich was a bleed effect , 50 seconds , 675 damage per tick :( died while eating ...

My quest line took me to a different chain. One where I had to control a marmot and poison kegs in Bloodmaul camp. Then after, instead of using sleeping powder on Grulloc, Rexxar gives you a boar to make him chase around while you loot it, from there the chain continues as stated.

Got it with only one shot (as a druid)
Go stelthed to him, target him. Reshift to caster, powder, he stays 30 sec., loot the sack, cat, dash away. Thats it. Easy.

Here is what i did and it was as easy as killing a critter.
I walked toward him just enough space between us for me to cast the powder. I put him to sleep and grabbed the bag. When the opening and looting was done he had about 9 secs left so i cast the powder on him again which restarted the sleep time. So i took my time and mounted and ran away.

Seeing as Grulloc is someone that must be eliminated to unlock the Og'rila dalies, and seeing as they are very popular you will probably run up to an unprotected sack, seeing as he is killed a ton of times every day. Confirmed coords (60, 47).

put the powder in my actionbar, walked up (didnt agg him) used sleeping powder, got bag, used invisibility while running away. Once i was past that huge fire i blinked and he wasnt even chasing

p.s. i wouldnt waste me time though the sleeping powder is only 30 seconds long and the bag takes like 5 seconds, plus running up there and getting away, i can see where this would be hard for other classes

As a Frost mage this quest is rly easy... First two times i tried to make him sleep by going close and putting powder... i died from 2 hits... Get pet out and attack him with pet, start casting powder, dissmis pet blink to bag, get item, blink out, cast invisibility and that's most safe way :D

For a druid or enhancement shaman (in fact, any shammy with Improved Ghost Wolf maxed) this quest is simplicity itself to beat: Just dope Grulloc, steal the bag, shift, and hightail it back to the Baron. Ta-dah!

As a hunter I put him to sleep, looted the sack. I aggrod him, but with aspect of the cheetah active I could run out of agro range, because it took a while, before he came after me. Wouldn't have aggrod him, if I just used another powder on him =)

btw warlocks: put minion on passive. i hit the sleeping powder and the felguard went for him on defensive. fortunately he didn't charge so i had time to call him back, but still, there was the potential for disaster.

I really don't know what's up with this quest, or Blizzard for that matter!
Sablemane's Sleeping Powder was resisted 9 @%#*@$@ times now! and I'm lvl 68. And yes, I know how to read and follow instructions.

OMG the 10th time it "actually" works! WAY TO GO Blizzard!

Coords: 59,47

Mob Objective: Grulloc (Put to sleep using, Sablemane's Sleeping Powder)

Basically, put the Powder in your hotbar. Target Grulloc from a distance.

Watch the powder in the hotbar. Once it goes from dark to light (meaning you are in range), use it. Key is staying at the maximum distance for using the powder in case it is resisted, and to prevent agro prior to using.

At 69 it worked first time, I got the sack, and walked off. With plenty of time to spare. Lower levels, as has been revealed, can be trickier. (Though it will work eventually if you have troubles, and is worth it in the quest line. So good luck)

loc was good of 59,47. No resists at lvl 67, and got out with enough time to get away.

Make sure you have room to loot in your bags as you don't want to stick around.

I used the powder at maximum range, went in and autolooted.

I ran normally out of range before he woke up.

67 mage, did just what 68 mage below suggested.
For clarity, i snuck around the back and stood facing HIS back. The sack was to his left.
Might be a good idea to have yr combat script window open as he's so big it's hard to see if the powder worked (other than he's not beating on you)

Loot on auto - of course.

-powder
-ran in
-Opened sack, autoloot, blinked and ran.
-kept running till blink cooled down, hit it again, kept running
-rotated camera view, Mob in pursuit but he gave up a few seconds later

Dunno what all the drama is about with this quest... it was no fuss no muss. Did it with all three of my toons (3-boxing no less).

Hot-key the powder. Walk up to the guy. When you are in range of the powder, click it. If he resists (only resisted once on my 66 warr) click again. Soon as he sleeps run to the bag at his foot to YOUR right (facing him.. you can see it before you are in range). Click the bag, loot, do a 180 and haul ass back up the canyon. You'll be out of combat before he awakes.

I made the mistake of thinking that it worked like blinding powder and it had not cast time.. so make sure you stand back grab it.. use the second one.. and run.

Worked for me on 4th try (lvl 66 Hunter). Used the powder on him, took it, ran a little and feigned death.

If he didn't resist at 65, you're lucky. The same thing happened to me at 67, where he resisted all three charges....

THE SACK...is on the ground to his left.

Use the powder to sleep him, then go around and grab the sack.

The turn in is at CIRCLE OF BLOOD.

I thought he had it on him, and attacked him. For some reason that woke him up. I died soon after.

I've done this quest a bunch of times. I tried it today with my 69 mage, figuring it would be as easy as it has always been. Wrong. He resisted the powder, much to my surprise. I didn't even bother running, and he liquified me where I was once standing. Other than that, this is one of the easiest quests in the game.

Just did it at 65 and he is RED to me. Worked first time. So I don't know what that other guy is talking about. Glad I didn't listen to him.

LvL 67 Gnome Mage.... Tried 5 times to get this damn sack... On the first time I sleeped him, he fell asleep until I got to the Sack.... ***SMACK*** One hit kill.... Second time I got to close and he smacked me again, but this time i took off my gear... third time he woke up again... I had to abandon the quest and get it again, since the powder only has 3 charges. The next time went perfectly... Sleep, Loot, Blink... End of Story... So moral of the Story, this can get really tricky... so take off your gear when you try so you dont have a repair bill when you fail.

This is a VERY simple quest if you use your sleeping powder given to you by the quest giver. Your not supped to fight him.

30s sleep? I went just to the range of sleeping powder, made him sleep and start to open the sack, once i got the quest item, he woke up and killed me whit one hit. So, he slept no more than 10sec. That was strange..

-Stand on the left of him so you see the bag.
-Inch up until the sleep works.
-Soon as it is in effect run to the bag.
-Face looking at the fire pit when opening the bag.
-Grab the loot
-Blink
-Cast invisability and run

He will never know what hit him period.

This took maybe 2 minutes... hardly worthy of the word "quest"! Get in range, use powder (he snores), run up, loot bag, run away... not a single blow... easiest 11,650 xp in the whole game!

How do you get more powder if you run out? I went back to the quest giver and he just wanted to know if I finished the quest.

Nevermind, I used my pet to attack and intimidate him. Ran up got the sack then ran like hell.

I had some fun this one. Worked first time, lucky from what i've read here, i begin to click the sack, *inventory is full* NOOOOOO i loot the sack again after destroying an item but yeh...he got me in the end :>

This was great for me ...

Someone had killed him before i got there. I waited, his corpse disappeared and then his bag spawned before he did. Ran up, looted and left. Didn't even have to use the quest item!

There are several ways to screw this up:

Don't use the powder (If you want to mess with Grulloc, that's your prerogative; have fun).

Inadvertently right clicking on Grulloc rather than the bag (The powder will cause Grulloc to fall asleep almost on top of the bag).

Taking too long to exit Grulloc's aggro radius after getting the bag (30 seconds is more than enough time, but that's the maximum, once you have the bag, don’t go AFK or admire the scenery … run).

coords are 60,47ish. i used the sleepingpowder and went in to grab his sack, at the moment i looted he woke up and got to hit me about 2-3 times before i could sleep him again, got a bleed effect so i died pretty fast.

I've outdone myself again. I've fashioned a sleeping powder for you to use on Grulloc, the gronn I spoke of who is guarding what I want.

Grulloc keeps himself at the Cursed Hollow, an area at the eastern edge of Dragons' End on the other side of the Circle of Blood.

If I were you, I wouldn't tarry long once you have his sack. The effects of the dust won't last long.
