Here is a list of what you get when you do the hand ins.

A Donation of Wool = 60x Wool Cloth (at lvl 50 you get 400 xp and 350 Silvermoon City Rep).

A Donation of Silk = 60x Silk Cloth (at lvl 50 you get 1000 xp and 350 Silvermoon City Rep).

from honored to revered is 3200 runecloth (160 stacks)

from revered to exalted (21000 rep) takes 5600 runecloth (280 stacks)

i don't know about you, but that's a lot of magic kleenex.

Why can't I turn my Runecloth in?

this, along with the cloth turn-ins to other cities, is fairly moot for rep grinding now that we have the Argent Tournament dailys. just go the cloth turn-in route if you have some burning urge to get exalted today instead of waiting for tomorrows dailys, otherwise may as well make money while you get your rep and head over to the tournament
