Is it just me or can you not pick up this thing at 70 because I have the quest but when i kill him he doesn't have it.

Those are the correct coords, rounded down, but the reality is that those map into the mountains. The little camp where you find Anilia has an archway sort of thing at the back. You go through the archway, slowly if you are not way out of proportion for this sort of thing, and there is no trouble single pulling. Geltharis is a L31 that hits harder than the bears or spiders. I had to use the same strategy (as a L31 priest) that I did if I aggroed two of the mobs in the camp, redotting, and reshielding partway through, finished low mana and mid health. The coordinates are about +0.5 or +0.8 in both directions.

You can carfully sneak hugging the mountains till you go through the gate, then you can carefully pull the demons 1 by one until all thats left is him and one other demon next to him. If you wait till they are farthest apart, pull him out and engage. He's nothing to tough, no tricks up his sleave really. I did with a lv 28 druid. When your done sneak out and enjoy.

As of patch 2.3.3 Geltharis is Level 32. Solo'd as a level 30 druid w/ no problems though. He's actually a pretty easy kill.

Geltharis is located 78,42. He's level 32 non-elite.
Manage to solo him with a 27 Feral Druid. Cast Regrowth and Rejuvenation and go Cat and fight... When you need health, simply cast Nature's Grasp and run away and heal. Easy :)

Solo'd as a level 26 feral druid in somewhat twinked out tank gear.

Killed all his mobs (eventually the casters come to melee you) in cat form. Put on any food buffs you can, make sure you have full mana, then cast both healing over time spells on yourself to help. Go into cat, wait a few seconds for energy, try to Shred if you want.

Then just go rake until the DoT appears and start clawing. If you get low on health, hopefully you have a potion (saves a load of effort). I used my potion, next time I got lowish I cast Survival Instincts, unmorphed and healed, and then went into Bear Form. The next time I got low, I cast Nature's Grasp then backed up and healed myself, then went into cat form and finished the job.

Not too tough. To be honest, hardest part is getting to him.

Now I have to get away.

There is sometimes a 32r mob there called Prince Raze who can be pulled away from Geltharis, however, if you have a melee pet or are a melee class, it is easy to body pull them both if you get close and with the odd stealthy Satyr and the annoying 100% heal they cast (Gift of the Xavian you can get overwhelmed quickly if they are not killed in time.

Geltharis is through that arch behind Anilia's body. You have to fight a few satyrs before getting him, he's right at the back.

I'm a 32 hunter, and it was a piece of cake. I didn't even aggro the other satyr standing next to him. I guess that was a bit of luck :)

Ok......... It is easy as 1,2,3.

After you get the quest for "The Branch of Cenarius" look north you should be at the location of 78,45 for those of you that have locations.

If you look north there is an archway (its the only one!), go under and you should see a 32 named Prince Raze he is a unique mob not an elite as some have mentioned.

Also I have read that some people have killed him and not received the item, that might be because it�s the wrong guy!

The easy way to tackle this is to stay close to the left and pass Prince Raze; jump down to fight Geltharis and his friend. Remember to stay to the left so as not to disrupt the Prince.

This was quiet easy for me as a 34 druid in bear form.

Needless to say I then turned and killed Prince Raze and his friend just for fun. Hit him with a DOT before clawing him to death. Make sure you kill him before his friend or you could be in some trouble!

Once done, head back to the "Shrine of Aessina" at the location given 22,53 which is correct and hand your quest in. The next part will then be given.

Apparently, since patch 2.0, Illiyana has been moved to Forest Song, far to the east in Ashenvale. It's the same spot where Kayneth Stillwind is.

The place has been built up and is populated by others now as well.

I'm a rogue who went from level 27 to 28 on this quest.

I stealthed over to Anilia's body and clicked for the quest. After accepting it quickly, I promptly vanished after drawing aggro from every enemy around.

Geltharis is through the arch to the north, as directed in the quest. Stealth through the arch into the L-shaped area. There are three satyrs in addition to Geltharis. If you're careful, you can kill the first two separately. The next satyr is next to Geltharis. You can actually pull Geltharis and not draw the other satyr with a well-placed throwing knife. Kill him, take the branch, and rejoice.

another easy quest made by blizzard. kinda fun though the xavian creatures have a fast spawn rate, if your a high level 20 or low level 30 watch out, i had a few spawn on top of me while casting healing spells and using mana drinks. other then that it was pretty easy..

Mage: use your dampen magic buff, along with your mage armor buff, right before you go into battle buff yourself with mana shield to absorb all physical damage. and cast away =D

I have submitted a few screenshots for visual refference.

If you can stealth this becomes a 2 kill quest...not counting the kills needed to talk to quest giver. Stealth along the right hand side of the arch hugging the wall...cross over to the little hill on Geltharis' left hand side and take out the rogue in the little area to the left of the small tree stump....you will pull both but this prevents others from coming at you.

If you cannot stealth just clear everything around him before going after him.

Heres a good tactic for those of us who dont like playing rough. Sneak past them by climbing over the arch at the back of the gully where Geltharis is. When you get to the other side of the arch, look left and jump up behind the tree.

From here you can pick them off one at a time and it takes them a while to get to you. If you can stop them in their tracks somehow it works a treat. I used tangling roots.

atm there's no FP in forest song... cnt locate quest givers either... bugged as with other quests in this area... :(

Yes, there is an FP.... just look up: it's on a ledge above where the head druid stands.

easily solo'd as a 27 druid.

opened up in cat form, DPS'd him till my health was down to 1/2, rooted him, healed, went to bear form and finished him off.

I had to clear all the junk out around him first.

I did this on a lvl 27 shammy with full 19 twink gear and crescent of forlorn spirits w/ 40 spell damage on it (i was going 29)

Don't try to hook to the left side the whole way... or you might just get owned by Raze.

(He is almost always there)

download wow-matrix and then open that, then you can install all the addons that you want, they have it for everything! If you want an addon to go to the toilet for you while you're playing, i guess they have that to!

I soloed this as a 29 completely feral druid, no problem. The guy you have to kill is level 32. There's a couple people around him. 2 you can kill simotaniously without teh boss, and then there's one level 30 that no matter what, you get him with teh boss, or you get teh boss with him.

As the quest text says, he's just north of where you found the poor dying dryad, almost within bowshot in fact. He had 1 rogue with him that I was able to pull off with a bow and then my bear and I took him easily.

Soloed it as lvl 30 warlock, just sent the void on the boss and took the otherone on for myself, then helped with the boss. Coordinates: 78,42

dont worry about the one next to him.
most of my equipment and wand are rare.

-pain pull, then plague
-use all spells, careful with cooldowns.
-mana potion when low
-MUST use DOTS
-low health/mana = scream, then bandage
-repeat

-beware of respawns

I forgot the vile satyrs and this follow on until I was 37, did both to clean up and got about 4000 exp out of it. Not too bad actually.

He wasn't there when I showed up to get the branch, so I cleared out the little area behind the arch and he showed up on the next set of respawns, but did not drop the branch. The next time around he spawned in the same spot and dropped a Harpyclaw Short Bow, but no branch. He dropped it after four or five kills but I didn't even notice when I looted it, so I ended up camping him for an extra half hour or so... silly me :P

He has a spawn timer of approximately 6 to 8 minutes (as do the surrounding mobs) and spawns at 77,42 (Cosmos).

got the branch from prince raze. i guess if he's around, geltharis gave it to him. normally the prince is a longer than normal spawn, according to other info here on this site.

After you complete this quest head east on the road until you've reached Talendris Point in Azshara, learn the flight path if you have not already, fly back to Astranaar, run to The Shrine of Aessina to turn in the quest, then run back to Astranaar & fly back to Talendris Point to do the next quest so you're not running back & forth through the entire zone.

I don't mean to be negative but having today done this quest for the 12th (24th, 30th?) time, I had one of those moments that led me to a conclusion. With one or two possible exceptions (in 2007 or 2008), I've done this quest every time I've leveled a druid, which would be about two or three dozen times. Probably more. Good XP and a fun quest line, which is good because my first character was a druid (in 2005) and my last character's name (a druid of course) will be on my tombstone.

But one thing struck me today: I've always taken the classical approach to killing this guy - Stealth and Ravage. Ravage failed, as it often does. OK, c'est la vie; breaks of the game; just motor on.

Then I had a surge of recognition that Ravage had always failed on this guy; not once had I managed to make it work. This led to a test, of sorts. I'll spare you the details but here's the conclusion: Ravage (or any other kind of attack from behind while stealthed in Druid form) is not only not guaranteed; it's less than 50% effective.

Maybe, after eighteen years, I still haven't learned how to play a druid? It's possible, but since this isn't coming from an institution, I doubt it. I'm no genius but I've been a druid for 18 years.

Just an observation: when Ravage says: "Ravage the target, causing 385% damage plus 162 to the target. Must be prowling and behind the target. Awards one combo point," the only thing that's true about that is the combo point. The rest is a roll of the dice.

I'm OK with that; Druids rule; others drool, as the old saying goes, but don't get frustrated if you run into the same issue I have. There are many other reasons to play a Druid.
