Well to start your journey, after getting the quest in Stormwind, head to Menethil Harbor, just Northwest of Ironforge. Once there, go to the LEFT side of the docks, and take the next boat that shows up. Once the boat reaches the next destination, Thelsamore, follow along the road, all the way into the Berrens, and down towards Thousand Needles. At the BORDER, right before The Great Lift, take a RIGHT, and you are there. If that doesn't work...just stay on the right side, on the wall, until you come to it. It should be about 40-50 yards from The Great Lift.

Also, all the creatures there used to be just Regular Level 22-28's, but Blizzard found that that was too easy and changed them ALL to Elites. So make sure that you get AT THE LEAST 1 lvl 35+ with you. Or, 3-4 lvl 30-34's. If you don't have that, you CANNOT make it through there. I was a Level 26 Dwarf Warrior with a Level 30 Rogue, and we did not make it very far...UNTIL we got 2 Level 42 friends...so make sure you either have a big group, or a High Level Person with you. I finished this instance only with a friend...just the two of us vs all the instance lol...lvl 40 both...Priest & Warrior, the best combination for group without doubt.

Roogug is on the left when u enter Razorfren, follow the tunnel then on the first turn on the left through there.

I was wondering coudn't u buy the instance vial at AH or is it soulbound?

Just soloed this as a 31 Warrior. Used an armor potion, 120 HP potion, and had Well Fed. With a little skill, you don't need a group.

1 LV28 Warrior + 1 LV28 Paladin and we could beat him. The only thing that will help you is to choose the left path at the first fork. You don't have to beat the instance to find the guy. It won't take more than a half hour to get where he is.

i was lvl41 warrior when i went to get the vial head into the instance and kill the first few enemys was no problem for me..lol. and take the first left carry on straight up till u reach the cliff and then go accross the big vine , root thing that acts a a bridge follow it round to the left past the big couldron thing and then stay on the right and that where i found rogug kill him and it should drop first time... well it did for me anyway! hope this helps

I am level 26 and I killed this boss with a 26 paladin. I'm protection spec, he's holy spec. My advice is to do something along these lines. This guy is easy to find, pretty much take lefts anytime to you find a fork in the road, and pull the casters way back to fight them. Hope this helps!

Im a lvl 36 dwarf warrior, solo'd all of this quest so far at this lvl. When u enter Razorfen Kraul go left at 1st fork in road, then follow it round till u are walking on wot appears to be huge vines, follow that around killing and pulling the mobs 1 by 1, u will then get to a large cauldron, just past and to the right of this is Roogug! Kill all the mobs before attacking him, the casters can be a real pain.

"Well with this any GOOD player with some brains would buy some pots should be able to solo this, most ppl above lvl 20 should know that most quest items are BOP, if you have trouble i should tell you i can solo this at lvl 28, but if you are new or ain't got the best stuff around a warrior/pally or warrior/druid combo should be enough to solo this place."

just so you know, your "brains" comment in your post made my day. you think others are stupid after you write this drivel. if you think a 20 can solo this you are wrong. i highly doubt you can solo this at 28. i love how you actually punctuated "ain't" lol. and then to say a warrior/pally could solo? you do know what solo means right? or maybe when you said you could solo at 28 you meant you soloed it with a two man group you half-wit. don't mock what people write you waste of space. i'm sure alot of players "ain't" got the best gear, but still don't want to wait 8 levels to "solo" this quest, because by then the armor is obsolete. but even if they do wait, asking for advice is the best way to learn ways of doing things. speaking of that, if you didn't need advice, why are you on this thread? did you find this thread after you completed it just so you could try to make yourself sound sweet? get bent you nothing.

solo'd at 30, if you are any good as a war its not too tough, theyre elites yes - but that doesnt make them hard. just play smart, pop ur shield on and silence the casters if you need to. use sweeping strikes and cleeve for totems and pets etc.
go left at the first fork, over the vine and hes just in there past a few 28s

when i was entering at south barrens, i saw a pig battleguard at lvl 35 elite, the are even better now :S. But good luck everybody, u need a lvl 43+ minimum :S

This Quest is so Tough! I tried it with a 58 (im 27) we couldnt last 5 minutes in instance. Maybe im going the wrong way but these guys are 35+ some guys have ? for me. This is really tough if u think i need more than 1 lvl 58 (or 35 up) then please let me Know. I went into dumb cave and went through instance and we searched as far as one fourth into the cave. Nothing am I screwin up? this is so dumb its pissing me off! let me know ASAP.

the instance is razorfen kraul its in the south barrens, the name of the guy that drops the vail of phlogiston is named Roogug hes a 28 elite.

To find the Vial for the warrior quest go left when you enter RFK. You will come to the end of the rold where it looks like you have to drop down. DO NOT DROP DOWN - get on the root to the right and follow it across you will meet up with the your man with the quest item on the other side

I followed the instructions posted by Tyrade and found Roogug really easy - thank you.

I solo'd as a level 37 Warrior and had no problems at all.

The vial will not drop for me! I JUST got the quest, lvl 20, and a 58 DK went with me. The DK killed Roogug the first time and I did not get any loot; we reset the instance and I made sure to hit Roogug this time, I got loot but no vial. Am I too low level for this to drop? Is the DK too high level to help me? Does it just not drop all the time?

We killed Roogug at least 5 times last night and he never dropped the vial. It says it drops 34% of the time, but we had no luck. Anyone else having this much bad luck? :)

I solo'd Roogug and the way up to him (Human Warrior lvl 35). just pull the mobs one by one and they fall pretty easy (hamstring also works wonders below 20%). Had a Fiery War Axe as a 2h though.

Soloable at level 30 (Arms, Orc), with no special/blue items.

Most mobs can be solo-pulled with a ranged attack, except for the one pair of Quilguards before the vine-bridge and Roogug's own set of guards.
Mind that every Quilboar enemy will try to flee at low health, so Hamstringing them or pull them back towards the entrance where they won't alert other mobs.

The most dangerous/annoying mobs are by far the Death's Head Adepts (only encountered past the bridge), who can root you in place for 20+ seconds if you do not interrupt their Chains of Ice spell. If they do, they will try to back away and pelt you with Frostbolts/refresh the Chains from afar.
Try breaking their line of sight when pulling them, and position youself in a way that they will have a wall right behind them - this will prevent them from backing off even if they do get to root you.

For Roogug I popped Retaliation (+ a Healing Potion once I got to 50%), focused him down, looted him, then let his entourage kill me. Done in exactly 20 minutes.
