Also on top of that since tier10 bonus is (2) Set: Your Riptide spell grants 20% spell haste for your next spellcast within 10 sec you will use Riptide very often anyway.

I bought and tried this out. It's wonderful when it's at three stacks, but I found it surprisingly difficult to maintain. I use Riptide as often as possible, and I even got 2 pieces of tier 8 to reduce to CD to 5 seconds, but whether you're in the heat of battle using a lot of GCD's or running to the next trash mob in heroics, it'll take you a minimum of 10 seconds to activate the full proc bonus, and that proc will be the fastest 15 seconds in your life.

I personally use the Totem of the Third Wind right now and I'm finding it's much better than this for Heroics; for raids, this is better than Totem of Calming Tides if you can maintain it.

I thought this was less difficult to maintain than the 264 Elemental totem however, so if you're looking for something to spend your frost embs on, this is it.

How can the proc stack 3 times when you can't cast riptide 3 times in 15 seconds considering a 6 sec cooldown? Haste does not effect (non-global) cooldowns.

I know you guys are all determined to find the "best" item to wear, but have you thought about maybe using different sets depending on the fight? This is an awesome totem on fights where raid damage is sporadic, especially with the 2 set bonus of t10. However, in fights with a lot of raid wide damage, this totem loses its luster.

I know I'm going to pick this totem up, but I'm still saving my totem of the calming tides. Blizz gave us a built in Equipment Manager, I suggest some of you try it out for something other than dual specs. I hate how everyone thinks healing can be cookie cuttered. Some fights you want more haste, some you want more mp5 and int. Hell, I even have some pieces with hit available, so I'm not totally useless when no one needs heals.

I found the buff infinitely easier to maintain by using a timer in the addon Power Auras Classic. However, if you have Solace of the Fallen/Defeated, you'll run into problems in that both buffs are named Energized. Instead of checking by the name Energized, use the texture of the totem's buff:
