Look at the use effect, it says that the entire effect lasts 20 seconds.
That means every time a stack is added, the time left won't be refreshed.

how much spell dmg do we actually see in raids these days? lot's... well even tho its only a 2min c/d, and yeah 6k+ armour is alot off of a hard hitting boss, i can only see this being a trinket you keep in your bags for specific encounters, for mellee heavy bosses, i woudnt ditch very many trinkets with this as a replacement, more of a backup option, by the time its fully stacked on heavy hitting bosses ( wich normally hit slow) i can see maybe 10- seconds left on a full stacked duration, so i unno. i han't crunched any numbers so its theory craft so w/e... tbh id rather keep a def heavy trinket and stack more hp, 3 hit rule keeps getting harder and harder to keep up with, and all the spell dmg loves to negate tradtional EH

just downrate me if you need to =/

Compared to Furnace Stone this is barely an upgrade.

You gain 9 dodge, which isn't an awful lot these days, and the proc is 6325 armor but only when all 5 stacks are reached. Assuming a boss with a 2 second swing timer, it would take 10 seconds to reach this point, meaning the actual amount of effective armor provided barely surpasses that of the trinket 13 ilevels lower if at all. I could see this being taken as an upgrade, but a very small one, all of these new "use: stacks a buff up to 5 times, entire effect lasts 20 seconds" trinkets are rather woefully poor compared to trinkets from previous tiers of raid content which maintain their stacks endlessly and don't require a click to use.

The value of this trinket depends on the class you play. If you are a mitigation-capable tank (shield wearing Paladin/Warrior) this is far less valuable then other trikets available.

If however you play an Avoidance tank (Druid or Death Knight) then this is one of the better trinkets available to you at this level (especially Bear-form Druids). DKs in particular built threat from dodging so it may be better to look at what class your tank is and what Role he plays in a raid.

The Off-tank keeping 3-4 level 82 adds busy would greatly benefit from this since 20% more armor goes a long(er) way against trash mobs and mini-bosses.

Remember just because something "sucks" for you, it may not necessarily be the case for everyone else.

As a Frost Dk, I'm finding this trinket pretty enjoyable actually. It's great for situations when you know fast hits are coming in (i.e. When the twin valkyr shield goes up and you start getting hit faster). However, even in slow swing situation this trinket is nice as you can pop it, wait for the stacks to build and then pop UBA for some extra mitigation. It may not be a huge amount but I still find it nice.

I got this trinket yesterday, it's a good 2% boost to dodge, but I swapped it from Essence of Gossamer which was over 1k +hp unbuffed. I think I'll be swapping those trinkets, using the Essence when there is more magic damage flying around.

I find the use effect kind of weird considering the passive effect though. If you get this trinket you're probably going for avoidance, and when you're avoiding a blow the buff doesn't proc hence you won't get the extra armor. When fighting a boss you probably won't even get hit 5 times during 20 seconds to make full effect of it. Good for AoE packs maybe, but then I'd rather be using my block gear as a paladin at least. Can see how DK's or druids would like it.

I don't understand why people think that druids would love this trinket. I guess people figure that dodge is a druid's only source of avoidance, so dodge rating must be a great stat. But, just to be safe, let's think about it.

Darkmoon Card: Greatness is much better for druid tanks. Druids get more dodge from agility than all other tanking classes, and since agility is a druid's highest stat (not the case for other tanks) they'll get +300 agility. I can get into the math if you'd like, but it will give a druid, on average, almost twice as much dodge at the cost of a little armor (if any, since the actual armor received from this trinket is highly dependent on the situation).

Stamina trinkets and avoidance trinkets are good for different reasons. I wouldn't say that one is a good match for the other, but I would say that a great avoidance trinket doesn't make a good stamina trinket obsolete. This is an avoidance trinket, so it should be replacing your Valor Medal, not your Black Heart.

While you are right that Agility generally gives more Dodge point for point that Dodge Rating people aren't completely wrong in the idea that Dodge is a druid's ONLY source of Avoidance. I've yet to see a Druid Parry and they obviously can't block so unless your relying on a bosses miss chance against you Dodge is your only source of Avoidance.

Great trinket for tanking Anub, I would pick this up.
Lots of Dodge + Armor helps save your healers a lot since you don't need a stupid amount of HP tanking him.

Edit:
After playing around with it, Ive found it to be less useful. I rarely seem to get past 3 stacks before the buff falls off.

Infact - due to Leeching Swarm in phase 3, you could even say that having more health is a negative thing :) My guild really seems to prefer having me stamina-stacked - but I did get the trinket even if purely for Anub'arak HC-mode :)

I picked this up today on my warrior for my offspec as no one needed/wanted it. I wasn't very impressed with it and didn't give it much of a thought really. Later on in the day my guild ran heroic 25 ToGC, and on the Faction Champions I was asked to toss on prot gear and spam demo shout to try and keep aggro on as many of them as I could. (Using Demo Shout on this boss helps *maintain* aggro on targets quite well). With 5-6 of them beating on me at once I was going down just a tad too fast, so I looked in my bags for possible answers and found this.

Getting to 5 stacks on this boss takes maybe a second if you blow it on charge. With the armor gained from this so quickly on the initial pull I didn't have to blow shield wall right away. It was like having an extra 'oh no' button, and using it helped me save my bigger 'oh no' buttons for when I needed them most.

This isn't the best trinket out there, but find a situation where you are getting hit fast and often (Emalon ads, Auriaya pull, etc) and this trinket still has its uses.

This and the heroic version use effects stack. You can trigger both trinkets at the same time and get some nice armor.

Eitrigg's Oath probably refers to Eitrigg telling Tirion that they are brothers in blood and honor, after Eitrigg saved Tirion and Tirion Eitrigg.
When you do the Death Knight quest as Horde, read the letter Mograine asks you to give Thrall. At the end it says "and ask Eitrigg to come with me, if you'd allow it. I need a good Orc in Northrend." (I paraphrased). And now, Eitrigg is in Northrend. Anyway, lots of history. And Tirion runs this place, so it fits.
