A very nice upgrade for paladins who didn't find the shields available in Ulduar too interesting due to their Expertise rating, and who were unable to complete 10man Hodir hardmode.

Compared to Wall of Terror, you lose a bit of defense and block, but at the gain of stamina, strength, armor, block value and dodge, all of which is very nice for tanking paladins at the current level of content.

However, if you were able to do Hodir hardmode on 10man, and won the shield, it's a bit of a toss up. Compared to The Boreal Guard, you gain stamina, strength, armor, block value, exactly 1 defense rating and 37 dodge at the cost of 37 parry, 33 block and, most importantly, a red and a blue socket.

I think most people would prefer dodge over parry, though that depends on your gear, 33 block is not really relevant at the current level of contant due to bosses and trash hitting like trains, but the two sockets are huge. If you make use of the new epic gems (and to be honest, you should), you can offset the loss of dodge on the Boreal Guard, so you will be trading 37 parry, 33 block and a bit of dodge for 6 stamina, 32 strength, 349 armor and 126 block value.

This armor bonus seems unnaturally bigger than the previous Ulduar shields. But this is just me. I have got to say, this is close to 100% perfectly itemized for the shield wearing tanks. High str, stam, Dodge, Block Value, high base block, high armor. All of those stats are perfect for Warriors and Pallies.

This dropped for me on my guilds 2nd week in the new raid, it was an obvious upgrade over the patchwerk shield that I was using. Its nice to see a shield drop so early with the far off and few shields from ulduar. It is arguable that this shield could be an upgrade to all ulduar shields.

Its also a very nice shield for those tanks that are still stuck with shields from naxx and didnt get the chance of getting one of of the shields dropping in ulduar, its like the next Wall of Terror :) wich was once best in slot

Very solid upgrade over Splintered Door of the Citadel which I was using for a few good months there, and it was driving me crazy. Picked this up yesterday.

Not only does it have a solid fashion and style value over the Splintered Door, it is well itemized, except for the stamina . The block value is very nice for me, as a warrior, since block rating is not very important, considering every 30 seconds I have a 100% chance to block w/ Shield Block and Block Value lets me block for more. Dodge & Defense is always cool. Again, it looks pretty awesome, and was a huge upgrade for me, although, I do intend to use Neverending Winter when it finally drops off the Gunship for me, it's nice to be using a shield that is not a door or a face for once, and an actual solid metallic shield-shaped object.
