Its a damn expensive to make.
Price is at least 12500g (this is vendor mats cost).

You need:
12 x Titansteel Bar (20hours cooldown to make 1) price 100g+ for one
40 x Handful of Cobalt Bolts (easy to make and even 40 dont change price :) )
2 x Arctic Fur (quite expensive at start of WoTLK but lets hope it will be better - lets count 100g for one)
1 x Salvaged Iron Golem Parts (you can buy it from vendor for 3000g)
8 x Goblin-machined Piston (also vendor item 1000g for one)
1 x Elementium-plated Exhaust Pipe (from vendor too for 1500g)

At the moment price should be around 19k + (if friend will make it for you and wont charge you too much).

All vendor items can be bought only by eng with 450 skill and chopper recipe.
Better find someone from good guild to make it for you - you need to give money first and wait for crafter to get parts and make it :)

It's waste of time to farm Horde Expedition rep for it when it gives only this recipe. All your friends will ride red drakes before you ;(

Won't be surprised to see 1st one for 30k +

You can get all parts in one place. From Roxi Ramrocket <Cold Weather Flying Trainer> at K3 in The Storm Peaks (you will only see this items if you are engi and you have recipe).

Well that sucks that it is like 15k to buy because the mammoth is 20k and they are the only multi-person mounts. I can't wait to get noobs and say "Wanna see something cool?" then drive them off a cliff dismount and bubble. :D

The total price for all vendor mats is 12500 Gold.
I make them on the Chromaggus Realm for Titansteel+cobalt+fur and 14k gold for mats and build fee. Most days you can pick up those non-vendor mats for about 1.5k to 2k gold.

Side Note: It's called trolls.jpg because this is where I send Trade Chat trolls when they call me a liar and a crook :-)

Is this considered a mount or a vehicle? Vehicles are more annoying to handle I find.

it may be 400g if u are not exalted but you can't buy it if you're not exalted ... so ...

no vehicle mounts act like they did before, all of them should be considered "mounts" now.

They all take fall dmg, they all can mount/dismount instantly, and they all work with crusader aura now.

A recent patch did in fact fix several issues with vehicle mounts including changing mounts like flying carpets from vehicles to regular mounts. However, mounts that can carry passengers and have other functions are still considered vehicles. This includes at least these vehicle mounts:

Alliance

Mekgineer's Chopper
Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth
Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth

Horde

Mechano-hog
Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth
Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth

Don't forget the Black War Mammoth

If you are a tauren, you are freakingly huge. That's a REALLY serious problem when trying to go through all the doors of the game, going on a mount. The ones in Dalaran are specially disturbing. I tried myself most of the rest of the mounts in the game, finding always some door too small for me to go through while mounted :(

Well, the Mechano-hog AT LAST finishes all your problems! as it gives you the same height the walking motions have (after all, your character is a bit leaned back when riding the hog), all those nasty moments will be lost in time... this is your mount taurens, to be entirely free... the tiranny of the gnome sized doors in Dalaran and other places, is OVER!

Note that Tauren that are stacking Size Increases can go into the Passenger Seat of, say, a Blood Elf with a Shrink Effect. The result is that you basically see a Tauren sitting down scooting around with a small wheel coming out of his left foot. And he can go through doors that he normally can't go through because of size. It's really, really funny.

I have a alliance character which has enough engineering. I want to give the bike to my horde character. So can i buy the schematics, mail it to my alliance character, have him make the bike and then mail it back to my horde character? I really need to know if this works before actually doing it...

Yes i know that... but i am not going to gain all that engineering again on my horde character just so i can make a bike. What i want to do is buy the "horde" schematic, mail to my alliance character have him make the "horde" mechano hog, and then mail the bike back to my horde character... I know about the race restrictions which why I am having my alliance character make the "horde" mechano hog.

So please can someone tell me if this will work not?

As you are an Alliance player, I wouldn't think you'd even see this Horde bike schematic to buy since you will never get exalted with Horde Expedition...

To make this sexy piece of a ride somewhat cheaper I have a tip for all of you. Do NOT buy the crafted and farmed mats on AH. It's so easy to get them alot cheaper just by writing in trade channel.

For example.
On my server (Outland-EU), Titansteel Bar sells for approximately 140-150g on AH (158g actually the day I built my Hog). But when I wrote in trade channel that I wanted 12 and that could pay 1100 in total for them (796g off AH price) I got whispers immediately. People see a four digit number and goes crazy.

See this as a reminder, because I know what a pain in the 4$$ it can be to get the gold you need for this. Although, as we speak there is no way around the 12,500g vendor mats.

Edit:
Well ofcourse I forgot. Worth noticing is that you might be lucky to find the Elementium-plated Exhaust Pipe on Auction House really cheap (reeeeally cheap, if someone is stupid enough) since it drops from mobs that can be engineered by engineers.
