The effect of this glyph (seen by clicking here: Glyph of Safe Fall), does this:

Effect : Add Flat Modifier (3)
Value: 10

A Rogue's passive Safe Fall skill does:

Effect : Safe Fall
Value: 17

So it adds just over an extra half of your default distance that you can currently fall before you start taking damage.

This brings a rogue's potential passive safe fall up to a value of 27.

Edit: removed Duskbat Drape math from this post since it was nerfed to +10 hit rating instead of safe fall :(
Edit #2: Somewhere within the past 3 months since I made this post, the Glyph of Safe Fall was changed to add a value of 10 instead of 8. Adjusted the above math accordingly.

So what does this mean for our maximum survivable fall distance, unaided by parchute cloaks and similar?

Well, I know for a fact that if you jump off the highest level of the tower in the starting area for Night Elves with the Duskbat Drape, you'll land with about 9% health left. Without the drape, you die.

If I knew the distances of how far you have to fall normally, and then how much you'd take with only the drape, I could accurately pinpoint the distance for any fall modifier.

I would like to note that you CANNOT stack several glyphs of the same type to increase the effect. Upon attempting to inscribe a duplicate Glyph at the Lexicon of Power you recieve the message:

"That Glyph is already inscribed in your spellbook."

According to my extensive testing this glyph is not sufficient to survive the fall off the Aldor rise in Shatt.

I think terminal fall heights kill you no matter what amount of safe fall you have. Safe fall just prevents *up to* certain amount of regular fall damage, possibly taking no damage whatsoever, unless the jump would have killed you. But correct me if I'm wrong.

I can see a lot of Rogues dying shortly after buying this Glyph.

"Psh...with this thing, I can jump off the side of the Lumber Mill! DEATH FROM ABOVE!"

A good test would be to jump of scryers tier!
I know that it barely leaves you alive when not being a rogue but have no numbers with my rogue (jumped of it once a long time ago)
Anyways, this glyph is worth picking up due to the most minor rogue glyphs being horrible

With this glyph, i can jump down the hole in Sunken temple with about 5% health left. In my opinion, this is a very powerful glyph that no rogue should pass up.

Definitely a great glyph, probably my favorite minor glyph of all. I can jump off of zeppelin towers and from zeppelins without losing any health.

It's always fun to do it in front of other classes, who just stare at you and wonder "How the hell did he not take any damage?"

So, what do people think of this glyph in general now that fall damage supposedly doesn't break stealth? I'd like to get a new rogue made and glyph'ed up, but this seems less impressive with that change in place.

Whenever I did that with levitate I always got destroyed at the bottom

Sunken Temple is officially my least favourite instance. Always get lost there.
