To clarify, Unique Equipped (3) means that you can only wear gear with 3 of these gems at a single time.

You can make as many as you like but only have 3 at a time on your person.

According to most people parry is always "useless". Yet this gem is available. Some have to rethink their news sources "elites". Blizzard aren't mentally retarded to release this and "always" be "useless".

Start by thinking of diminishing returns on dodge and that parry has an free swing property dodge doesn't.

It's really very hard to believe Blizzard aren't just trying to *balance* those two. Not make any better.

Patch 3.2 Prismatic/Jeweler's Gems changes:

"In the next major content patch we will be removing the prismatic quality of the jewelcrafter-only Dragon’s Eye gems. Like other gems, they will have to match the socket color to receive a socket bonus. When this change occurs, players with qualifying jewelcrafting skill will be provided a yet to be determined amount of Dalaran Jewelcrafter Tokens as compensation."

This means Jewelcrafters will now have to play by the same rules everyone else does when it comes to meta gem requirements.

To recap:

"Prismatic" quality no longer exists and the "Jeweler's Gems" icons are now adequately mono-colored, a visual indication showing they'll only match one socket type.

The only benefit you'll get is the flat added value to your favorite stat which will only activate socket bonuses of the appropriate color.

Their value is being upgraded in the same patch, but that's the time when unlimited use epic quality gems are also being introduced.
