I am so glad that they finally changed the way Spellstones and Firestones are used. Lets face it, hardly anyone used the old ones when they took your wands spot, but now that they're a weapon enhancement, like the Sup Wizzy Oil, they're much much better to use.

The old useless chance to do fire damage on melee attack is still active once you enchant your weapon with the Firestone, despite what the tooltip says.

so with master conjurer this would be upped to 3% dmg increase or 126 spell damage? or both?

can anyone confirm/disprove?

Seems you can add these to heirloom weapons as well.
