The pattern for this is now available for tokens from the Jewelcrafting trainer in Dalaran.

This is also the best gem to use in blue slots for shadow priests and i imagine every other caster that benefits from spirit aswell.

for a lock w/ Fel Armor (30% SPI to SP) and GoLT (20% SPI to SP) effects, would it be correct to say this would be equivalent to 17SP total out of a blue socket slot?

Upgrade from Purified Twilight Opal. Normally the cost would be prohibitive to upgrade for a non-JC, however being able to purchase these gems with honor points or emblems make's it a worthwhile upgrade, especially when your meta requires a blue gem to activate.

Royal one would be a better choice for disc priest, if you need blue socket for meta, disregarding if you're going for throughput or longevity.

I use these to fill in blue slots on my mage. The Spirit helps to add a little crit rating when using Molten Armor. As others have said it helps to meet blue and red requirements for a meta gem.
