A little over 1% armor ignore for each of these gems you have socketed because 15.39 ArP Rating ignores 1% of an enemy's armor.

As a hunter, I can see a Marksmanship hunter benefiting more from stacking these gems. However, myself being BM, I would not stack these because ArP only increases the Hunter's damage whereas AP/Agi will affect both the hunter's and pet's damage output.

Should be more valuable when 3.1 comes out. Armor pen is getting 25% increase and arms warriors (especially mace spec) will be getting even more buff from ArP. Get 'em now before the patch comes out.

if you want to go whit arms spec to a instance or raid then u gonna need alot of this one unless u are laking hit

Am I the only person who thinks it's a little weird that a jewelcrafter is needed to cut this gem? I mean, come on. Blacksmith Hammer + Scarlet Ruby = Fractured Scarlet Ruby. You do not need training for this.

After the 3.1 ArPen buff, this is looking to be one of the top DPS gems for rogues, and combat rogues in particular, perhaps even beating out AP/Agi gems depending on your particular gear/spec.

For an ARMS warrior:

Fractured Scarlet Ruby gives 27.96 dps per gem

compared too

Bold Scarlet Ruby which gives 14.43 dps per gem

With the buff to to armor penetration rating, you lose more AP from socketing armor penetration but your dps will be much higher.

As of 3.1 I replaced all my +16 STR gems for armor pen, and got a hefty 200-300 dps increase even while losing 333 AP and gaining 12% armor pen rating.

With Mace Specialization and in Battle Stance I was sitting around 45% armor pen self buffed.

These seem to be the best choice for DPS ferals at the moment.
I got a ~120 DPS increase when I changed my agility gems to these.

Any idea why armor penetration rating is a red colored gem ?
Every other gem which gives ratings is yellow.

Arms Warrior PvP'ers: This is the BEST gem to use for every socket of your gear. By stacking ArP, you will do considerably more DPS against Heavy armor classes (Plate/Mail), than if you used the Bold Scarlet Ruby. You will do slightly less damage against light armor wearers (Mage/Priest/Warlock), but generally you don't see them in high level Arena PvP.

P.S. Get Jewelcrafting up to 400 for the ArP prismatic gems, then Blacksmithing or Engineering.
