This is a "Jewelcrafer only" type of gem.

A reward for being a JC.
Like blacksmiths and the such get bop items to use for themselves.

It should also be Unique-Equipped, however, as can be seen here http://www.mmo-champion.com/images/news/2007/july/newgems.jpg

I have not been able to test this on the PTR, so I have a question about the 'Unique-Equipped":
Does the Uniqueness apply to you entire armor set, or just the single piece?

I understand you cannot equip 2 Falling Star gems on say your shoulders, but could you put a Falling Star on your Shoulder and another on your chest piece?

Indeed this is acquired at revered with lower city and created by using a Star of Elune.

The nice thing about unique-equipped gems though, is that you can craft say 5-10 of them if you are about to drop JC, and you can still use them for future pieces of acquired gear.

there is only one color bop gems (yellow, blue or red) where is our multi colored gems (green, orange and purple) epic gems???

Tested on the PTR :) U can have as many of them as u want and also put as many u want in your gear BUT:

Here's an example:
I use for tanking and also
i CAN have 1 Falling Star in EACH of them BUT i cannot equip the 2 items with the FS at the same time.

This means u can have 1 for tanking gear and 1 for arena gear etc :_)

cant you level up JC and make maybe 15 of these then drop JC and take maybe enchanting for money then you can equip a falling star each time you get a really sweet item that youre gonna have a very long time then you dont have to have JC all the time

Every tank should be JC to get this ! =P. One hell of a gem considering you only need revered with Lower City to get the design for this sweety.

This baby is BOP which means you can only spend about 2k gold or more to get JC up to 360. Otherwise I don't think blizz will implement something like Socketing items via trade window. Ofc if you wanna reroll for JC just to get this enchant ... you are insane ! And another thing allakhazam forgot to mention is that this baby is unique-equiped (like gems from heroics).

For those tanks, like myself, who are rushing to the BOP trinkets at the end of Jewelcrafting, this is a nice little addition to your collection. And it's purchasable from the Lower City quartermaster at Revered. Just a few runs of SLabs will do it. Time for fun anyone?

Note that while you can have only 1 of these equipped at any given time, you can also socket other gear in your bags/bank with one as well. For instance, if you have a spell damage chest and an avoidance chest, you could have 1 Falling Star in each and be able to switch between the two pieces between trash and boss pulls.

For the price/availability, it's a bargain for tanks if -- and only if -- you're going after the 375 trinks.

Since it is unique-equipped could i potentially drop enchanting, level up JC and make 20 of these things and keep them in the bank, then re-learn enchanting? And does dropping enchanting remove the +12 spell dmg enchants i have on my rings?

OK what about this.. You give the jc one item that is not soulbound yet and they put it in can the item then be handed over to the person to use.?

yes, i would imagine u could equip one of every special gem like this one, then fill all the other gem slots with normal/hyjal or BT gems.

Well... given that I've been reading the comments... my question is.. if the item is bound as soon as it is made (given BOP stated in the above picture) then you wouldn't be able to make more regardless. But this seems really a waste to make the items BOP in the first place. Usable only by JC? How many people have grinded skills to 300 or even 375 who would be willing to waste those hours to relearn a new skill? I know I wouldn't. It's expensive and costly.

So great... a JC gets the pattern and gem, and can only use one to get a +6 more (normally most get Solid Star of Elune for 12 points of stamina) and that's it (or is there a 15+ gem out there?). Seems really dumb of Blizzard to make it BOP so that it can't even be passed about. Even if you can only use one, it shouldn't be BOP then.

Of course I'm of the mentality that if it has to be BOP and unique, it should give a hell of a lot more than just 18 stamina considering +12 you get from SSoE.

how is this gem unique or unique-equip? bop yes! i've seen a protect warrior on eitrigg with these gems in every single slot that he had..and no i did not mistaken this with any other gems..

a similiar gem that gives +15 stamina comes from Hyjal/BT that all top level tanks have but the best top level tanks have 1 of these. And ONLY one.

btw i did the fishing daily and the falling star was in my bag it is BOE that means it can be sold in the AH or equipped. It is a rare drop
