A great spawn point for Shoveltusk is at 26,61 - right in front of the tram/lift. Not a good drop rate for flank, but you get lots of chilled meat.

Shoveltusk Meat obtained during the quest, "Shoveltusk Soup Again?" is now correctly flagged as a quest item with no sell price.

I do believe any meat you come across after completing the quest can still be vendored.

I was farming for Shoveltusk flanks in Howling Fjord and got a ton of this as well. It is not listed as a quest item, and I wasn't doing the quest anyway (done it already), so not sure why it's dropping. Vendors for 25s each.

This meat was originally intended for use with the Shoveltusk Soup recipe, which was removed from being a quest reward prior to Wrath's release.

The recent 3.08 patch notes have confirmed that the recipe is being removed entirely from the game, including the achievements it is linked to, making this meat entirely pointless to hang on to. You may as well just vendor or trash it.

The meat isnt *totally* worthless, to a Hunter anyway. Gives max Happiness when fed to a lvl 80 meat-eating pet.

3.0.8 will render this item "useless" because the recipe that uses it was not obtainable in 3.0.3 and is being removed in 3.0.8. Hunter pets will still be able to eat it.

After the patch 3.0.8 I logged onto my 80 rogue who had completed the quest while lvling to find a stack of the meat flagged as a quest item in my inventory(was not in there when I logged off)... the quest was done for me so I couldn't find another use for it...so I just destroyed it.

Item cannot be vendored anymore, only thing u can do is destroy em.

Dear Wowhead Readers,

Recently, I discussed the location where these meats are aquired with the insightful Isobella. Collectively we agreed that by only providing a limited market of this product to the habbitants of the Howling Fjord is "so sad".

Moving forward, we would urge the presidents of northrend and warcraft to consider populating the western side of the continent with such shoveltuskians in order to ease the traveling pains of the community. I assure you that by doing such with show a high amount of profits.

Alliance only quest? WTH!

I have 6 those these on my rogue which was sent from my paladin (I'm horde of course)

Obviously my paladin must have sent this meat long time ago but if these meat are for Alliance quest how the hell did my paladin even get hands on them?

I just started powerlvling cooking with my rogue so there is no chance a cheap miser like myself would have bought this meat with my paladin from an AH just because it's cheap.

Dudes, this meat is valuable. Tender Shoveltusk Steak is awesome for casters. 22500 health in 10 secs. Requires level 70, gives 46 spell power, 40 stamina for one hour. Not too shabby. Sure you really want to vendor that meat?
