"From beneath you it devours" was frequently mentioned as a more or less cryptic warning from the coming apocalypse (yet another one) during that season.

Drops off of the lurker below in SSC. kind of strange since few items with resil drop in raids. (this is the only one ive seen so far and my guild has cleared SSC,kara, and is up to kael in the eye)

Horrible for them PVE, but in the eyes of a balance spec druid this is by far the best PVP ring in game. A lot of good Moonkin gear comes from either honor, arenas, or clothing down from drops. Its nice to see something for us from PVE thats designed with the moonkin in mind.

There is obviously better stuff out there for pve if youve cleared this far but I don't believe this is a shard on sight type of drop... give it to any druid thats ever dreamed of spamming moonfire in PVP. (PS spamming moonfire + being a moonkin = noob... just being a moonkin =/= noob)

This, the strongest caster class PvP ring in-game is a higher drop rate than listed here, however due to this recently being added makes it lower than actual.

It has about a 12% drop rate.

The reason it would be decent for a druid tank is because of the amazing armor and stamina, rather than the resilience.

Primarily a moonkin ring as they will get the most out of the armor stat. A good ring for Warlocks too - extremely high stamina for a ring makes it pretty usefull in PvE/P, but the resilience stat ofc makes it drool-gear for PvP. I wish my warlock had this for PvP tbh. If you look at the Season 2 warlock gear you can see that stacking armor as well as stamina can provide excelent anti-melee defences that are essential in PvP, specifically arena where locks are often top of the kill list.

also - Tankadins!!! perfect for PvE tanking pally (rare but they do exist). The spell dmg for holding aggro, and the rest are tank stats.

Armor is gravy? No, I disagree. This is not made for "casters" in general. This is made for the moonkin druids (pvp oriented ones) and not the mages, locks, shadowpriests and whatever. Okay, that shockadin might want it, but nobody cares about shockadins, especially not blizzard =)

In Moonkin form armor is increased by 400%, making this high armor ring (for a caster that is) only really useful for that plate mage rooting & shooting. For you other casters, as you know armor isn't your main prio.

I never said there's anything wrong with moonkins, I play one myself, raiding ssc/tk. This trinket is for us moonkins who prefers pvp!

Let me make it clear.

For raiding and pvp purposes (totally ignoring healers who wants spelldmg for grinding) the spelldmg narrows this down to

Warlocks
Mages
Balance Druids
Elemental Shamans
Shadowpriests.
Prot and in some parts ret pallies.

The high stamina is good for anybody in pvp, however, in pve you might want to lower that int for some hit or crit, again, except for prot pallies.

Spell damage stat is obviously good for all of these.

Resilience is again obviously good for all of these when you want to pvp. However, any real prot pally tank would not maximize resilience to gain crit immunity in pve instead of defense. And again, prot pallies are not used for arena pvp, hence making this item rather useless for them. The resilience, as you know, is a pvp stat. A prot paladin would prefer to change the resilience for defense or block.

The last stat is the high armor, going even higher than the tanking ring from G'eras, sold for badges, the ring of unyielding force. Now, think. Which class makes great use for high armor in pvp? We already ruled pve out due to the resilience.

Warlocks? Mages? Shadowpriests? Ret pallies? In a way, yes, but they'd remove that armor for other stats if they'd got to chose. Moonkin druids? Bingo. Moonkin druids gain 400% armor from items, making this item great for moonkin druids, WAY greater than the rest of the mentioned classes. One of the things that makes us moonkin druids unique is our armor.

Actually Shadow priests do get alot of use from Armor, Arena tier sets give them afair bit (Should give more, but they nerfed it) Plus this and inner fire. So in shadowform the migration all adds up. What other stats would a shadowpriest want? It has Stamina, Spell damage, resiliance and armor. What more can a PvPing shadowpriest ask for?

Don't be so block headed and claim it's for boomkins just because it has extra armor added to it. it's a CASTER PvP Ring and anyone in a raiding guild would know that no one gets preference on pvp items, so why is there a big dicussion on what class it's best for?

I have this on my moonkin and love it.

I've no idea why so many people focus on one stat and then make an assumption about an item.
If the ring said: 225 armor, 33 stam and 25 dmg/heal; then people would treat it differently.

Ignore the resilliance rating, and see the huge armor and stam it gives us moonkin!

(the resilliance is just a nice bonus really)

You all realise that armor provides bigger mitigation per point when you have lower levels of armor? Stop claiming this is a moonkin-only item simply because it has armor, mages, priest and warlocks in pvp gear will get roughly 1.5-2% physical mitigation from it.

This ring is great for any dps caster who pvps. Stop the thottbot-esque discussion of which class deserves it more please.

People overlook this, but what about Warlock tanks for the Leotheras fight and other fights beyond SSC? Resilience is nice for the clothie tanks because there isn't a single piece of cloth armor with +def on it. Stacking the Resistance only reduces how much damage is taken (acting like Armor). Adding in that Resilience factor helps with the burst damage from crits.

Although this item drops in SSC, Mage tanks for Krosh in the High King Maulgar fight can also benefit from this item.

This can also benefit all Caster DPS classes. By reducing your chance to be crit, you are reducing the amount of reactive healing done to you as a result of a crit and conserving your Raid Healers mana pool. Plus, if you pull aggro from a boss, you are lowering your chance to be crit, keeping you up on that boss fight to continue fighting. A small amount of resilience is great for PvE purposes. Some bosses have the ability to target random raid member and cast spell 'x' which has a chance to crit kill you.

I just think this ring kicks ass for those who PVP on the SIDE, and don't want to spend all their honour points on TWO rings when they can have this as a substitute for a while. It's perfect, I love it, and I have it on my lovely little lock =) Definitely a ring for anyone who has spell damage!

I got this on my Panzerkin (Moonkin Tank). Its effectivly the holy grail of Panzerkin rings. Resil is our way of becoming crit immune, and we have a stam deficiency compared to other tank classes. ~300 armor become ~1200 armor, and the spell damage is our means of threat generation. Its, quite frankly, amazing.

I see that alot of ppls see this as a caster ring, but I dont see it very usefull for any caser in PvE.
Imo this Ring seems perfect for a tankadin (as the matter of fact I got it the other day on my PvE tankadin). Sure, its a nice caster ring in a PvP situation when any melee is going crazy on you, the dmg reduction can prove a life-saver.

But I think this Ring is mainly for Tankadins. (even tho i would prefer Def over Res.)

picked it up on my priest today.

Its a quite nice addition for arenas, beats the crap out of any other ring for 2v2 / 3v3 vs melee combos thats for sure.

Got this second or third time we killed Lurker. Didnt even know it existed. As only Moonkin in raid/guild I got it for start-bid, nobody bidded over.

don't put a damn class priority on it.. if it WAS for moonkin or warlocks or priests or mages only, it would say Class: *insert class here*

Armor, stamina, and spell dmg. hmmm find me a caster who doesn't want that.. and added resilience = secksee!

all in all the best PVP ring available for any caster.. I def will be going for this on my warlock. be nice to hit that 450 resilience mark.

Rings with armour on them are so few and far between (and this is the only armour / spell damage ring I could find in the whole game...) that it is really unfair not to prioritise Moonkin druids for this one .... certainly casters of any sort may want them for PvP but the relative benefit is much higher for Moonkin with the multiplier.

And anyone who's played a Moonkin controlling BM adds or Hurricane tanking etc knows that 'Moonkins don't need armour in PvE' is a load of bollocks.

Hell yeah i'd take this for my warlock anyday. I dont think its fair to prioritise certain classes for a ring like this. Moonkins would benefit alot from the armour with the multiplier, but i wouldnt say this is an oomkin only ring

TBH with spell dmg and stamina in abundance, you could almost see a Lock take this for the leo fight. Altho as a lock thats normally tanking him myself i'd certainly prefer https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=30109/ring-of-endless-coils from Vashj as its got more crit and a bit better for holding aggro with that searing pain spammage. Think i could suit a pala tank or any PvPing caster whos sad enough to be interested in this as a "quality PvE ring".

Moonkins should have first priority on this ring. For any other caster 295 armor is meaningless, that is approximately 0% added mitigation. for a moonkin it is nearly 1.2k extra armor. I roll a moonkin and if I won this I would wear it pretty much all the time. Unbelievable stats for pvp.

ok first off i have a moonkin level 70 and raids and u know what 1.2k armor is pointless who cares how much armor u got u want to stack as much crit as u can i as a moonkin would not want this as it has no crit on it i will keep my 2 crit rings and stick with the mass crit damg a little more armor is not going to matter you are there to do damg not tank somthing and i allso have a 70 prot pally that does ssc and i would give it to him way way befor my moonkin

yes it gives you 1200 armor, but 1200 armor when you have18k armor isn't doesnt result in nearly as much damage reduction as when you only have 1.8k armor. armor is about reducing damage taken from physical attacks not about jerking off to "look how much armor i have"

ok for you moonkin @#$%^&s shut the F**K up THIS is obviously a lock ring(sarcasm) it doesnt say MOONKIN or WARLOCK or hell even #$%ADIN(no offence =P) it just has stats and from beneath you it devours(weird buffy stuff that I dont wanna know) so everyone espically you oomkins shut the hell up.

this is a good ring for prot paladins' resist sets: on boss fights where you wear a resist set, you generally don't need to be uncrushable (achieved through avoidance) but still do need to be uncrittable (achieved through defense+resilience), and resilience has better value for that than defense does. however, on resist fights the armor on this ring is largely wasted. (two other items to look for when building resist sets are the seal of the exorcist, purchasable with spirit shards, and the pendant of dominance, which are also both stamina+spell damage+resilience items.)

it's also a reasonable item for your non-uncrushable raid set, i.e. the set you wear against lower-damage bosses and trash mobs. and it's a great item for heroics, where you never need to be uncrushable, because everything is level 72 or lower.

once your raid's prot paladin has this there are no other people who can put this to any legitimate pve use, so your moonkin can have one for funsies and then you should probably just shard the rest.
