This item is good, but I like the grapes better. Through extensive testing I have found it to be less subject to interrupts while eating, such as an aggroing mob or damage from
another player in PvP.

Grapes:

AV - 5 trials: Eaten, eaten, interrupt, eaten, interrupt.
AB - 5 trials: Eaten, eaten, eaten, eaten, interrupt.
WSG - 5 trials: Interrupt, eaten, interrupt, eaten, eaten.
EOS - 5 trials: Interrupt, interrupt, eaten, eaten, eaten.
Terokkar - 2 trials: Eaten, eaten

Mushroom:

AV - 5 trials: Eaten, eaten, interrupt, interrupt, interrupt.
AB - 5 trials: Eaten, interrupt, interrupt, eaten, interrupt.
WSG - 5 trials: Interrupt, interrupt, interrupt, interrupt, eaten.
EOS - 5 trials: Interrupt, interrupt, eaten, eaten, eaten.
Terokkar - 2 trials: Interrupt, interrupt

Also, the mushrooms have been said to lower reputation with Sporeggar by a tiny amount (around .0001 each). Therefore, I would conclude that resorting to Grapes would be a much better choice for both PvE and PvP options.
