assuming your hat has a meta slot...

Glyph of the Gladiator plus the 12 agility meta works out to .83% avoidance & .5% crit reduction.

factoring in the dodge and miss from the def, the 18 sta meta + glyph of the defender works out to 1.44% mitigation and .3% crit reduction.

.2% crit reduction is 10 def rating, so you can make that up w/ the new chest or cloak enchant.

Glyph of the Gladiator vs Glyph of the Defender - feral tank point of view

For a feral tank, resilience is better to reach crit immunity as its cheaper in item budget - it allows you to stack other stats higher. Thats why this glyph is better than the defender one.

I think it is worth noting that this enchant only costs 25g as opposed to the others that are 100g (minus rep discount).
Edit: It appears that the information in wowhead is incorrect. This item costs 100g (minus rep discount) on the PTR currently.

Any way I can use this on something (like a Blood Elf Bandit Mask or a Green-Tinted Goggles) on my main and send it to my twink? +18 stamina and 20 resil is great for 19s, who ever heard of a twink with resil?

To build on Shadowhoof's post above, here are the numbers on the differences between Glyph of the Gladiator and Glyph of the defender for feral druid tanks. By taking Glyph of the Gladiator you'll lose about 2.92% dodge/miss and gain 0.236% crit immunity and 278.1 hit points (292.005 for Tauren).

Judging by these numbers I wouldn't say that either is the clear winner. If you're easily crit immune and are in more need of avoidance than health then I'd take Glyph of the Defender. However, if you're struggling to reach crit immunity or need more health and have plenty of avoidance then Glyph of the Gladiator is your answer. Like most of the new items in 2.4 this is designed for higher end people who left the Heavy Clefthoof Set behind long ago and need help staying crit immune.

as a feral tank, it is easy to get resilience which can eventually take care of your anti-crit worries. wearing 2 pieces of gladiator is a large amount of resilience, and has a healthy amount of armor, stamina, and if you really want to go that far, threat generation as well. in fact.. personally s1 gladiator helm > t4 helm on tanking, tho t4 helm is better dps wise.

when dealing with spelldamage mobs, dodge and armor gets thrown out the window. Ever tried tanking a pack of 4 casters? the new magister's terrace has that, even with CC you got a good chance to go down with insufficient health and a small mistake. stam and resil is godsend.

And then at the end of the raid/run, you can go take your trustly gladiator helm to pvp with too. good stuff!

When going from Glyph of the Defender to Glyph of the Gladiator...

18 Stamina is gained.
Resilience reduces the defense skill need of warriors to 477.3 (as found on the character sheet)
(This is a net "gain" of 14.46 defense rating, for the purpose of crit removal)

at the cost of...

1.704% Avoidance is lost (1.17 Dodge, .267 Parry, .267 Miss)
.267% Block Chance is lost.

There is a significant increase in effective health gained by choosing the Glyph of the Gladiator (Wowhead Forums Post), making it preferable for Progresion (High Effective Health) Gearing.

When going from Presence of Might to Glyph of the Gladiator...

80 increased Effective Health
0.34% increased Crit Reduction

Presence of Might gives...

~0.67% avoidance/block (from defense rating)
15 Shield Block Value

Certain players lacking Crit Reduction can greatly benefit from Glyph of the Gladiator over any other helm enchant at this time. Without complex math, one can see that 180 health > 100 health. Please note that Glyph of the Defender (see the above comment) has more total avoidance & block than any of these.

I am too lazy to get all that thrallmar rep for my other head enchant options, so this guy wins by default! More res/sta certainly can't hurt.

According to my calcuations, 17 dodge rating adds 0.90% dodge, and 16 defense rating adds 0.24% dodge/miss. So the Defender Glyph only adds 1.14% dodge, not 2.92%. So you're only losing 1.14% dodge.

20 Resilience Rating adds 0.5% crit immunity, whereas defense adds 0.236%. So you're gaining 0.264% crit immunity.

Net loss of 1.14% dodge for net gain of 0.264% crit immunity, and 278.1hp (292.005 Tauren).

Still though - it depends on the situation. If you've been gemming resilience instead of defense, that dodge rating might be more useful.

I'd pick Glyph of the Gladiator if I were you, for PvP anyway. Stacking resilience is one of the main things you should do, as they lower chances to be hit with crits, and if you are hit by one, the damage is lower. Besides that, they even lower damage from dot's...

Anyway, Glyph of Ferocity has hit rating, which you don't need that much in PvP anyway (I think 45 is enough?).

So to sum up:

Ferocity:

AP : always nice ofc
hit rating : only if your gear is like really lacking hit

Gladiator

stamina: more hit point = takes enemies longer to kill you
resilience: take less damage from less frequent crits and dots, so takes enemies longere to kill you too :-)

The exploit whereby you mail the item to your alt (or whoever) while the Glyph is being applied still works.

The item will arrive with the enchant on it and be soulbound to the recipient.

HOWEVER, this is obvious exploitation of game mechanics, and will result in (at the minimum) the enchant being removed by blizzard.

Trust me, as soon as someone notices it, you will be instantly reported. And, now that opposing factions can inspect each others gear freely, that exploit will be noticed and reported immediately :-)

How does this compare the Glyph of Ferocity(34 attack power 16 hit rating) for a warrior?

I'm at 31.3% crit and 1604 attack power. But I only have 353 resil. Should I pick up Glyph of the Gladiator to keep things balanced?

u can put it on a twink u just need to have ur main have the piece and a BoE headpiece for ur twink and he puts on the armor patch and u mail it to ur twink

Ok can someone plz ask Velindra how she did it or give positive 100% info on how to put it on your head cause id love to know.
Cause i dont think u can have someone put it on the armor for u that u know while u hold it or if u are able to put it on and then mail it to your twink.
Plz come with some good info on how to put it on your twinks head piece.

ACTUALLY, it is possible by having a 70 put the glyph or whatever on thro the trade onto the headslot. Thus u have a sweet head on a twink, but u cant have the 70 put the ehancement on the item then trade it over becuase the said item becomes Bop.

Can some one explain how you out this on the engineering 150 goggles? since this item is soulbound once its bought and can't be done over the will not be traded slot.

It is posible. i have seen it myselfe. But how, i don`t know.
