Note that although you do not need to be on the quest to get the ore, it is an Alliance-only quest. If you're a Horde player and you're in Redridge and you're not ganking people on the bridge, and you come across this, then your best bet is to sell it on the neutral auction house to an Alliance player as it's probably not much use to you.

Had my miner collect ore and killed the entire cave. Got 11 ore total from both killing and mining. Cords for cave are 19 26.

You have to be in the cave to find it on the drops.

It takes awhile to get them off the drudgers. It took me about 3 respawns on all the guys in the cave to get all 5.

Ive seen these drop from the Copper Veins in Rethban Caverns.

Your best bet is to be or conscript a miner, as the drop rate is just average as far as the monsters go, but mining will get you Rethban Ore almost every time you find a vein in the cavern.

Actually. I got these before I had the quest. saved up about a stack of em while I was in there. Too bad they can't be used for anything else.

You still get it if you go in the cave. Quest or not quest.

Because nobody want it, and there is nothing useful to do, selling is not possible to vendors, thus it's only quest item.

I went back to Redridge to farm cloth and ore... Picked up a bunch of the ore, even though I'd completed the quest a LONG time ago. Will try it on AH =)

Collected 12 during quest when I only needed 5. Sold the remaining 7 in AH for one silver a piece.

It drops too from the mobs. Just kill some of them in the mine. Looks they are only from Drudgers.

Don't listen to people saying the price has gone up. This stuff is sometimes on the AH for way too much in stacks of 20...

HOWEVER: these quest related ores are best put up for auction in stacks of 6, or whatever amount the quest calls for.

I did a similar quest in Ironforge--can't remember the name--it needed some kind of red coloured ore--and bought it at the auction house for a handful of silver and didn't have to find a miner and go to the mine to complete the quest.

Rite now, on Crushridge, (Alliance) I see a couple of stacks of 20 for around 5g, but there is a stack of 6 up there for 50s, which is a little steep for a low level quest item.

Can't be used for anything except the quest,
but when I did it, I sold the rest 20s each,
so I guess people bought it for the q, instead of finding it themselves.

They can also be gathered from pickpocketing.

i had more luck finding rethban ore from mining the tin ore deposits :D

I went mining and got 9 Rethban Ore and mailed them to other characters to complete quest without even having to do it, LOL! :)

this stuff is pretty stupid. is you can only do the quest once why did blizzard even bother making you get it without the quest.

If you're on Smolderthorn and you need some ore, send a mail to Celbotta - I have a large reserve for sale (too stubborn to use AH because of the inconsistent demand; hate that deposit cost).

Have killed like 50 of these redridges, and no !@#$in drop. Do they drop ?

this is one of these items that you can get anytime, but they serve no other purpose than a quest(Speaking of Fortitude in Stormwind in this case).

Haha I'm on the Horde and was just running around Redridge killing lowbie and exploring and I got this, it doesn't say quest on the one I got but, if it's just for an alliance quest it's just trash to me.

Apparently, you may now sell redundant Rethban ore at the vendor, for a nominal fee. Just thuoght y' all would like to know...

Note to miners: this is a decent enough area to get to 125 mining, and to iron. I only found one silver lode, but that was over by Thelsamar. That also has a godo selection of copper and tin, but I think there's more in the Rethban cavern if you run around both inside the cave and in the surrounding areas.

As soon as I hit 125, I thought, "Huzzah! Iron!", lol.

drop rate seems to have been greatly increased, no need for miners for this.

I'm pretty sure it's only the drudgers that drop this. That's what QuestHelper had as it's info, and I killed an awful lot of bashers with no drops. Although, the drop rate in general for me was absolutely horrendous.
