If you happen to destroy your Netherwhelp's Collar another one will shortly arrive in the mail.
Although if you delete them too much the mails will stop. Deleted the little guy about 5 times on my bank character for them to stop.

Absoluty usless. Ill never buy another colletor's edition ever again! What the heck is this supposed to do besides take up space in invitory...You should atleast be able to rid it in outland! I feel like I got robed! Ill sell my ce to any1 for 5bucks....sometimes, blizzard is just to retarded....

Anyone have any idea what happens if you make a character, get this item mailed to you, and then don't pick it up from the mail and it disappears? Will another one get automatically mailed to you, do you have to file a ticket, or are you basically screwed?

A: Yes, it is possible to upgrade a normal expansion pack using an expansion's Collector's Edition CD-key to get the special pet, as explained by a Blizzard moderator below:

"Please call our Billing & Account Services department (800 592-5499) and be ready to provide the following information: Account Name (and ability to fully verify account), claimed Standard Edition (expansion) Key, unused Collector’s Edition (expansion) Key."

After your expansion account has been upgraded to CE status, upon logging into the game for the first time, all of your characters will have the pet waiting for them in the mail. Be sure to login with all of your characters within 30 days, or the package containing the pet will expire and be lost forever. Note that newly created characters will also have the pet waiting for them upon entering the game world.

The full backstory to this is that Blizzard managed to pack original TBC keys with the European Collector's Edition, instead of the intended Collector's Edition key. The accounts had to be upgraded manually at the HQ in France. To verify the purchase, collectors had to send in a cutout of the bar code on the box along with a copy of the reciept of purchase. They also had to include the overview card inside a package with three exclusive tournament-legal cards from the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game (but, of course, not the TCG cards). These things would never be returned, so it was compensated with Lurky. <3

As of patch 3.0.2 you can add your Netherwhelp to the "Pets" tab of your Character Info (C) menu and throw away the Netherwhelp's Collar to save space in your bags or bank.

Prior to 3.0.2, the Netherwhelp was a level 20 minipet. I remember wandering around on my low-level druid and remarking that my minipet was a higher level than I was.

Now, however, it is only level 1 like other minipets are :(

I have normal WOW, BC already, and will get normal WotLK, however I have preordered collectors edition as well and my friend is giving me WOW and BC collectors. will I be able to get pets if my account is already upgraded ? if not, is it possible to contact GM and request it anyhow ? thank you in advance guys.

Gosh, it's just so beautiful creature! I wouldn't buy the Collector's Edition only to obtain this pet, though...Yeah yeah, must admit but I'm a pet collector in WoW, got 43 non-combat (companion or whatever you whish to name them) pets at the moment :p Not very clever as they do nothing, but it's just for fun :) To all fools like myself.

havnt got mine yet... anyone know if you can get it on your old toons or if it is only avaliable with new ones? I know on my old collectors ed you get a quest at lvl 1 and get your panda/diablo/zergling... but i want this AND my panda ><

The Netherwhelp will arrive in the mailbox of every character you have created. It's accompanied by a note thanking you for purchasing the collector's edition expansion.

I found mine in the mailbox of all my characters right after my first login.

So I got my netherwhelp and he's been running around with my pally through the past 25 levels...

Question: Has anyone seen them do a sort of shadowbolt style attack animation at something you were fighting? I'm sure it's non-damaging if it was him, but I swear -- no one was around, and, well, I'm a pally, so no shadowbolts coming from me!

When I got mine I could not get it from the mailbox I had to completely leave the letter and mailbox screen before I could accept it! My boyfriend had the same problem and he had to do the same thing.

Does the mail get created on first login, or is it sent to all your characters and start when you upgrade your account?

i.e. Do I need to go login on all my existing characters and grab it before the 27 days is up?

there's a production error in the EU collectors edition of TBC. u can find the link in the EU official wow site under 'general news'

the activation of our pets will probably take up to 10days! but as a compensation, we get another pet called Lurky the Murloc!

i cant wait till i get them both!

When European players finally recieve their Netherwhelps (they have to send off for it thanks to a manufacturing error), they will also get Lurky's Egg, which allows you to summon a white baby Murloc called Lurky. This item/spell is not currently on Thottbot.

I have no idea if this is the only compensatory pet being issued, but it's neat because I always wanted a baby murloc :)

And before you say it, I got my CE for the same price as most retail outlets were selling the standard edition...I ain't no mug.

if you buy the collecters addition, will you be able to get the netherwhelp ith futer charcters, or only the ones u have prior to upgrading ur account?
aka
will you be able to gte it with a new blood elf/drenei(sp?)
or do get like an unlimited supply, like one foe every charcter you reate, new or old?

The whelp will appear in the mailbox for all current characters, it would be wise to pick it up before 30days (after that its purged).

New characters might get it as well in their mailbox. I haven't tested if its true.

I am pretty sure if u have the WoW CE pets like diablo, panda, zergling, you still can get the netherwehelp.

Other than that theres nothing special, except you will have a unique pet that no one else has.

In the EU CE they got a production error. You need to visit http://www.wow-europe.com/en/burningcrusade/activatepet.htm
and follow the orders written on that page.

As you have to send a letter to Blizzard they compensate the extra effort by giving you the nether whelp AND Lurky.

Yes, you can have the original BC and then add the CE afterwards, but you need to call Blizz's account/billing services. I had this same problem and that is what I had to do. I had my whelp as soon as i logged back in to WoW

this might be a dumb question but, if you buy a collectors eddition, and get the pet, can you buy the colectors eddition for a new Wow ie BC and frozen throne/lich king thingy, and get that new pet?

Ok guys, Heres step by step instructions on how to get it.

Read This one if your account IS NOT upgraded to Burning Crusade.

Just go to Worldofwarcraft.com and type in your activation key at the "Upgrade to Burning Crusade" menu.

Read this if your account IS upgraded to Burning Crusade but not collectors.

You have to call Billing Support for WoW. Sorry, I forgot the number though but you can find it at the website. (Worldofwarcraft.com) And tell them that you need to upgrade your account to BC collectors. Then they Will ask for the name you typed in during account creation and your account name. Then they will look up your account, and you can tell them the Code and they will type it in your account for you. Then you should have it in the mail on all of your characters.
