100 % drop for me. I don't think i was that lucky, that never happens to me. So I guess they improved the drop rate.

Not sure if it was any significance, and probably not, but every time i prevented the Spawns from hitting me with poison, I got a drop, I.E. Maim before their spell finished casting. got 4/5 this way, the other i got just killing normally. Prolly just a random that it happend, but cool enough to post

Wow, you're luckier than me. I got my 1st drop after 21 of them. These guys are amazingly hard to kill as a balance druid. Nature immune = bad

First time, I got a drop. But the second, well, it took about three hours, with a hundred kills. Filled the arrow bag up about twenty times.

I had to get a group of 5 for this quest. Took about 3 hours but it was worth it. I was by myself and kept getting gank'd like every minute or two.

I just did this a few minutes ago ( wowhead is open while I quest) and I got 5 drops in 9 kills. 41, 36 general area outside the Boulderfist cave.

every 3rd guy I killed I got 1 core, so the drop rate wasn't so bad for me.

I got my first after about 10 kills, the drop rate is really bad.

On the upside, you get lots of motes of water for killing these guys.

:: IMPORTANT ::

Just finished this quest. At first i was REALLY discouraged, i grinded mobs for about 15 minutes down south of Halaa, and did not get one core.

Then i decided to change my tactics. I moved up to the area south of the Boulderfist cave, and began killing the mobs. It made a huge difference. I got all 5 cores within 9 kills. I highly suggest grinding them there.

Stop being stupid. The quest is not bugged and it doesn't mather if you kill the Muck Spawns in the north or south.

It's a realy easy, realy straightforward quest.

didn't like it.. especially since the 65s seemed to be the most common

Yesterday before a server reset i couldnt find any Muck-Ridden core, i killed all Muck Spawns around Haala and still no drops. Either this q is bugged or im killing the wrong mobs. Places killing muck-spawns:

The Muck Spawns in the lake North of Halaa dropped the cores in 5 of 6 kills. Quest was no problem as a 65 druid.

LOL i killed 1 and my first kill got 1 i killed for like 2 hours (about 50 elementals atleast) and i found a couple spawns in a corner i killed them and got the following:2 Muck-Ridden Cores, a blue BoE, 5 motes of water, 4 elemental fragments, and this big grey 2h axe that soldto a vendor for 8.32.78 gold ;)

yeah, 41,38 right coords, Very easy and fast quest.... took me lees than 5 min, 4 first dropped from the 4 first mobs, and the last took me maybe 2-3 mobs later...... GLHF^^ (Good Luck Have Fun)

Took me about 20 minutes to get my first core. Then the next three dropped, so I was up to my fourth. The final core didn't drop until about 20 minutes later.

I about killed myself.

Not a hard quest took me about 15 mins killed a total of 27 mobs and got a green that vendored for 3.7g

Yeah the drop rate is very low. I love how people lie and try to make them selves look good.

I killed about 20 or so for all 5 drops. Got some good greens, good Xp, and ran into a rare elite named Goretooth who dropped a nice blue =)

this quest is nearly impossible for a frost mage to do and i've been killing them for 3 dys and haven't even got 1 quest drop

finally got the five and on the way out, i discovered that the stupid elementals weren't immune to frost which rlly pissed me off because i was using fire the whole time
