Appears to be a random world-drop off of high-level mobs. Mine came from one of the fire elementals in Shadowmoon.

This pattern has shown up on BDF server 3 times recently (from different sellers) and seems to be averaging 200-300g for the recipie alone. I still thing the best way to gain this would be to progress through Kara with your guild so that if it drops, you already know someone who can make it... and you save the purchase price. Plus running instances will help you get that primal nether required.

Dropped for me off a Shadow warlock in shadowmoon valley. Funny because I was farming for Fel Mana/Major shadow prot recipe and those too longer to find.

Yes. The Level of the pattern Determans the Drop. Not the Level of the item its intended to Craft.

I got this drop in Neterstorm from a Disembodied Protector. I was actually farming the Khorium Boots plans but these dropped. Killed about 45 -50 before it dropped.

I was just grinding some ogres for the quest "Don't kill the fat one" and this dropped on my fourth ogre kill. What a lucky drop!! Very ironic considering I could never get any blue BS patterns I actually needed to drop for me.

Just woke up, started playing WoW.. I go to the Skettis area to farm primal waters... the very first mob I kill drops this pattern.... and the day just began!

Dropped of a Zaxxis Stalker or a Zaxxis Raider (killed several in a row, don't know to who the remains belonged)at the Heap, Netherstorm.
Strangely, this item is not listed as a possible drop with either in the lists that are featured on this site. In fact, not a single epic item is in those lists of dropped items.

To farm this pattern with a group then you should go Old hillsbrad and kill Captain Skarloc. Or kill Coilfang Siren, Coilfang Warrior.

If you want to farm this pattern alone then i prefer killing the Nethermine Flayers, as i've killed about 500 of them and got the pattern 6times.

The patter that drops of Kael in MgT is definately BoP... I've also had this same pattern as a world drop that was BoE - sold it on AH for around 400g. I don't know if they also changed the world drop to BoP in the patch, but the one that drops from Kael is BoP, as I had to train it. The item the pattern makes is BoE in both cases.

I was doing dailies when this dropped. Boy did this make me happy seeing as i'm farming for my epic flyer =D. Dropped off a demon near lord kazzak, forget the name though. Sold for 749g(inflation ftw).
