The fact that the mats are well over 100g makes less appealing than just a pile of stamina, in my mind.

Perhaps for tankadins, where you're aggroing 5 guys at once and landing a lot of blocks on all of them...

Commento di RichoDemus

Really great for aoe grinding paladins, I can't wait to get this on my shield.

Commento di Goliat

great combo with the sporeggard shield, this is a multi tanking thing, not recommended for bosses, stamina enchant is better for that, with a shield with block and defense.

Commento di 27308

as a tankadin, this is pretty much a MUST have. when combined with Retribution aura, Consecration, Blessing of Sanctuary (+Holy Shield), a good shield (like the sporeggar one or an alternative), this enchanted on it and perhaps a form of thorns or the crystal spire buff https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=11567 from Un'Goro Crater in Kalimdor, and ur looking at an awful lot of block damage reflection.

However as posted above, this is more a grinding enchant, not what should be used for boss fights, where +block or +stamina would be preferable.

Commento di MarcusGaius

i disagree, cuz paladin doesn't benefit from physical dmg returned. any return is good, but i would much rather have +18sta, than this, speccialy cuz pala tanking gear realy lacks stamina, when compared to warrior gear of same level/quality/use.

Commento di 35454

you all need to learn to read

aoe tanking is different from boss tanking

I'm assuming you can attach this spike to a BOE shield and then still sell/trade it to someone, but I'd like to confirm before I waste a lot of money; anyone tried that before?

Commento di 14657

A buddy of mine put it on his twinks redbeard crest. It does more damage than my twinks Assassin's Blade.

Recipe is from Thrallmar rep Exalted

Commento di 5315

How much aggro make those "SPIKE" ?

Commento di Divyraen

This is the best shield "enchantment" for a level 19 warrior/paladin twink! 26~38 damage on block is deadly...

This spike is not expensive at all if you managed to afford a Shadowfang.

Commento di sneakygnome

As a level 37 paladin, could I get a 350+ blacksmith to attach this to my shield? I don't see any level requirements, for the player or for the shield.

Commento di 107640

anyone knows if the dmg and aggro of it are affected by defstance?

Commento di VanCleef

Can this be attached to a BoE shield and then be traded to someone that doesn't have 350 blacksmithing?

Commento di 53060

Do you have to be a blacksmith to wear a shield with a spike or do they have to put it on? Never really looked up to much on these kinda things can someone help me out?

Commento di 99905

Amazing on 19 Warrior/Paladin Twinks.

2.4.2 PTR patch notes:

Items that enchant other items no longer have tradeskill requirements
(Mithril Spurs, Shield Spikes, Weapon Chains, etc.).

Commento di Shivacode

This is basically like putting Mongoose on a weapon for a warrior/rogue...only for a Prot paladin. The alpha and omega of twink shield enchants, if you're leveling a pally 40-60 this is well worth the cash. Mats aren;t even that hard to farm if you know a BS who can make it.

While fruitlessly grinding Shattered Halls to get a Figurine of the Colossus to drop, my Thrallmar rep started to pile up in a real hurry. When the trinket dropped after about the sixteenth run, I said what the hell, and did another three or four runs to get to exalted just to get the plans for this spike.

The materials are expensive, but lo and behold, I can flip the finished product on the AH for over 350 a pop, making this an extremely profitable blacksmithing reward (the only profitable rep grind reward in BC, in my opinion) from a long rep grind. What's more, there are so few blacksmiths who have this recipe, you can pretty much name your own price once the word gets out that you even have the recipe at all.

This is an extremely popular item for the "money is no object" twinking crowd, and highly sought after by protection paladins looking to maximize the potential of the Petrified Lichen Guard in their grinding sets.

Commento di 161970

Since nobody has calculated the base materials, I shall.

4 Felsteel Bar:
3 Fel Iron Bars made by 2 Fel Iron Ore each.
You'll need 4 Felsteel Bars, so Need a total of 12 Fel Iron Bars or 24 Fel Iron Ore.

2 Eternium Bars made by 2 Eternium Ore each.
So once again, 4 Bars, total of 8 Eternium Bars or 16 Eternium Ore.

Primal Fire:
10 Motes of Fire each. ---> 40 Motes of Fire total.

Primal Earth
10 Motes of Earth each ----> 40 Motes of Earth total.

Hope someone gets some use out of this so they don't waste buying materials in the AH :)

Commento di 112649

Now great for Prot Warr Farming :) pop these on a shield and your G2G :)

Patch 3.0.2

Commento di 260995

Why dont use in boss...? much damage more agro... right?

Commento di 111889

Don't forget, you don't deal this 26-38 damage to your enemies unless you block their attack.

I made that mistake and thought my spike had bugged!

Commento di 230912

is there no shield spikes for lvl 80s? a northrend equalient?

would be nice if any1 could link it or say what it's called
thanks

Titanium Shield Spikes - Taught by trainers in Northrend.

Commento di Guanyin

Got this spike on a level 1 paladin twink :) Alot of fun and immensely overpowered :P
I soloed Gamon without much trouble just to try out the spike :)

Commento di Allakhazam

The Thorium shield spike does 20-30 damage on a succesfull block.
So unless ur getting exalted with TM anyway, i personally wouldn't bother grinding for the recipe.

Also it only costs 20g max to get made, this one sets u back quite a bit more.

Commento di Allakhazam

Great, the materials cost more than the price you can get for this item.

Commento di Allakhazam

On http://www.realmhistory.net you can view who can craft this on your realm or add yourself as a crafter

Commento di Dorfie

Exalted rep required with HH Alliance so assume same for Horde, Recipe cost is 5g 70s.

Commento di ravencrows
