Honor system changed
---------------------------------------

To get items , you dont need rank anymore but honor and AV, exemple: High Warlord's Battle axe requires 45,500 honor and 40 AV marks

The 2-h weapons , bow , gun , crossbow and epic armor requires : 45,500 honor and 40 AV mark.

The 1-h weapons , daggers , swords , daggers , maces, axes and blue armor requires: 22,500 honor and 40 Arathi Basin Marks

Later you can also go to arena and get arena points for better weapons but only at lvl 70 at lvl 1-60 you can only do practise arenas

For maximizing these tokens on a losing battlegroup (horde probably), try to lead your team for this one. With no leadership you're guaranteed to lose 95% of the time. This can be turned in for epic PvP gloves, helm, weapons, and mount (along with honor).

Just found out recently that a character can only carry 100 of these at a time. I had 98 in inventory when I won a game, and the marks were mailed to me.
Not sure if the rule applies to just bags / inventory, or to marks in bank as well.

Atm I'm running AV as much as possible (due to the Horde dominance in our battlegroup Alliance queue rarely, so the Horde queues are ~45 mins long), and as such, I have 100 marks, and tend to get about 12-24 in the mail each day.

So what does that spell? Free potions. Sure, they may be one step down from the Super Mana and Super Healing pots, but they're absolutely free. I'm very thrifty (translation: stingy) so that's a big plus for me. Not to mention that in heroics where I hate spending money (hell, I won't even drink - thank goodness for the Underspore Pods) if a pull or boss battle goes badly and I need to pot, voila, no cost.

Tbh though, I'd much prefer them to bring back the 3 token turn ins for honor and rep. While I don't need the rep with these fellas (I *badly* need it with AB and WSG) the premise was handy, and the honor wouldn't go astray! And yes, I know they're bringing in the 1 of each badge turn-in in 2.4, but without rep it's only half as good as it should be. ^^

AV Marks are used for the following PvP rewards:

o All pre-BC AV vendor rewards (from (A)Gaelden Hammersmith (H)Grunnda Wolfheart)
o Head
o Hands
o Crossbow
o Two-handed weapons
o Rings
o Season 3's Battlemaster trinkets
o Health and Mana potions (note the AB/AV/WSG/EotS pots are different, you can have a 10-stack of each.)
o PvP Mounts

These can be turned in along with one Arathi Basin Mark of Honor, one Eye of the Storm Mark of Honor and one Warsong Gulch Mark of Honor for 314 honor points at the daily quest giver for battlegrounds (it is not a daily quest).

Actually the SD in the mark,is not referring to Scooby Doo,but to Blizzard's art director Samwise Didier
You could see his picture on most blizzards easter eggs in Warcraft 2 and 3,and in World of Warcraft
(Like casting bar of people using Attuned Crystal Cores adden in new patch 2.4 - a quest in the isle of quel'Dalas)

These marks are no longer used for the quest Concerted Efforts, they have been replaced by Strand of the Ancients marks in that quest.

Because the current repeatable quest Concerted Efforts allows turn-ins for AB, EOTS, WSG, and Strand of the Ancient marks only, people are not queing for AV. This is causing some conflicts depending on which server you are on. If your faction has been dominating AV then the other faction isn't queing. In result que times are up to 45-60 minutes, but you usually wind up playing 5 versus 40. This is also why people are still not going to que until they change the system.....

.....and guess what! They are going to change the quest to where AV marks are to be included in turn ins. MMO has posted it on January 14, 2009 but didn't quote the source.

I can confirm that these are used as part of the "For Great Honor" quest in patch 3.1. All 5 marks are required for a turn-in.

I've been doing nothing but Alterac Valley for the last two weeks. It's so much fun.

This is my first time playing a character beyond level 30 -- I'm a 62 Paladin running the game solo. After I hit 80 I want to try out raiding and run through the dungeons I never touched. Is the armor here worth buying or are there better drops in the world? If not, the collector in me wants to grind for the mounts.

As of 3.3 (I think, perhaps 3.2), all BG marks beyond the 100-mark limit in your currency tab will be mailed to you, and will expire in 30 days instead of the previous 24 hours. Be sure to clean/empty/spend those marks in your mailbox, otherwise you may find yourself running out of mailbox space. :)

Patch 3.3.3 has made these and most other battleground marks no longer obtainable.

Pre-Level 80 PvP rewards that required these marks, including mounts, have had their costs adjusted to no longer require them.

Leftover marks can be turned in to the NPC at the Champions' Hall in Stormwind (Alliance) or the Hall of Legends in Orgrimmar (Horde). As of this post, they are worth 185 Honor each, regardless of level.

I have 52 on my Paladin I've just not gotten around to getting the Howler with. I know they changed the costs to honor, but is there ANY way I can buy the mount with the 50 marks that I have or am I just sh1t outta luck on this one? (which...wouldn't surprise me, to be honest... <_<)

In the Before the Storm patch and after, all bg tokens are now used (along with honor) as currency for the purchase of factional and GM gear. AV tokens are used for AV factional items and for two-handed GM weapons.

What can be done with tokens we get but don't need? Can they be converted to honor anywhere? For example, if I already have, say 200 AV tokens, but fall short on honor points, can I exchange my extra tokens for the needed honor? Seems like the common sense answer would be "yes", but this is Blizzard...

Any help appreciated.

Apparently now you can only collect 100 AV Marks of Honor. Any additional marks say "I can't carry any more of those." even if you put your 100 in the bank. I have one sitting in my mailbox because I couldn't collect any more, and there's nothing I can really do about it because they're pretty much worthless at lvl 60.

You can only have 100 of these at any one time. If you have 99 and win the 3 tokens will be sent to your mailbox. They are on a 24 hour timer, so it's a case of use them or lose them..

Anybody else have any idea what AV marks can be used for other than potions etc? 'For Great Honor' used to take 1 Av, EOTS, WSG, and AB tokens and you got honor in return, now it is Strand of the Ancients, EOTS, WSG, AB... have they made AV tokens useless to turn in if you have them in excess?

you can save up 30 of WSG AV and AB to get one of the pvp mounts wich u do not have to be exalted in any one race or be one of the race to get it. except if you want a horde pvp and ur alliance

Dont bother with AV till your 60, its the one BG you get to beat the cheeze outta silly 51s, and horde usually wins so if your horde and want a quick epic mount play till ya get 50 and get the horn of frostwolf howler.
