The Ashen Verdict is the new faction combined from the Argent Crusade and the Knights of the Ebon Blade. It's the rep faction for Icecrown Citadel.

There is still nothing about items available at exhalted level...
I hope the last frost wyrms models added would be such reputation rewards
(IMO, the fact that those mounts are kept on elitist PvP part of the game is unfair)

Ashen Verdict seems to be a Violet Eye 2.0, giving you a path to chose from -
Tanking (Courage), Caster DPS (Destruction), Melee/ranged DPS (Vengeance), and Healing (Wisdom).
Judging by the items, you probably gain rep through killing mobs in ICC, which will give you an upgrade to the previous ring you bought, and being able to buy patterns for your professions.

As others have noted, seems to be a faction that will work similar to the kara/hyjal system in BC. As a jewelcrafter, I hope we won't be left out of having some interesting patterns from faction standing or boss drops (jewelcrafting patterns are conspicuously absent from Ulduar/ToC).

Of Course The Faction Headed By a Death Knight and Ret pally would be Devoid of Str melee dps Rings! Cant you see they want them all to themselves!

The Quartermaster for the Ashen Verdict faction, Alchemist Finkelstein, is located just to the right of the entrance, INSIDE the Icecrown Citadel raid. The other various tier vendors are located in this starting area too, with my good buddies Fordring and Bronzebeard.

u get approximately 800-1000 rep for clearing the trash before the first boss, i just rep-farmed on my paladin, and we got 800-100 rep every time we took it. xD just in clear trash out reset, and repeat for as long as you want :P
got ring that requires honored in an evening on my pala just by rep farming :P

Currently, a full run through of Icecrown Citadel 10, killing all mobs and bosses up to and including Deathbringer Saurfang grants exactly:

2070 rep. (2277 with the human racial diplomacy)

Since nobody actually provided the numbers, here's what you get for killing enemies in ICC:

Normal Trash: 15 rep per kill
Large Trash: 75 rep per kill
Bosses: 250 rep per kill

Does anyone know if ring enchants are removed from the rings when they are upgraded? It might get a little expensive enchanting them over and over.

As the poster above indicated... Yes any enchanters that chant their rings will have to re-enchant them... But to just comment on the 'It might get a little expensive' comment...

Are you serious or just making a joke... Ring enchants (only available to enchanters as a craft bonus) cost all of 8 dusts and 1 greater cosmic essence. Since the MUCH increased level of items being DE'd (thanks to bliz forcing an enchanter to use his skills without permission) the dusts and GCE prices have fallen so low its crazy... Even on my small server dusts are selling for 1g or less each (often less) and GCE have taken a similar price drop.

But lets run this out...

4 total rings in all... 1 at each rep level, friendly, honored, revered, exalted... but subtract one since you would have enchanted the 1st ring no matter what.

24 Dusts & 3 GCE ... yea I can come up with that in an hour or so of running dungeons (and not even trying).

Not exactly breaking the bank... but even if you were an enchanter without having ANYTHING to DE (then you wouldn't be raiding but thats besides the point) then a trip to the AH... and you'd be talking 50 gold (even less) if you had to buy all the mats at todays lowball prices.

Disappointing. No quests for this faction.
Also The Achievement The Ashen Verdict gives you a title: "Of the Ashen Verdict".
If I was going to sit there and get to exalted, a cool mount and also the title would be cool for sitting there for hours trying to do this.

Bit of a dumb question - but how exactly do you start earning rep for these guys? I haven't found anything like a chain of quests (similar to SoH) to start it off.

Can I just go into ICC and start killing stuff? Or is there a "starter quest" that I can pick up?

So why is it that Blizz allows and maybe even encourages people to use dual spec, so they can tank or heal in addition to dps, but then people have to pick a ring or pay 200g every time you switch?

Wouldn't it be better to offer an option to allow us to pay a 1 time fee of 1000g (same as dual spec - or something close to it) to have a second ring? Make them so you can only equip one Ashen Verdict ring at a time, so people couldn't get both dps rings or both caster rings....But you could still have an ashen verdict ring in either spec.

I mostly just find this annoying for when I'm asked to go a different spec for a particular fights, but I could see it having some value for daily randoms. A DPS player who sometimes specs as a tank for the insta que randoms is not going to spend 200g every time they tank a random. However, they might spend 1000g to have that other ring for tanking or healing or whatever.

I'm just saying that when they try to say their presenting options for flexibilty, then they do something like this that limits flexibility. Doesn't make sense to me.

And as a last note, you get 500 rep for finishing a boss off on heroic, I only tried loot^&*!... Sorry, gunship on heroic, but that gave 500.
