i think all Dwarves/gnomes/people who did all their quests in the old world should start at honored or somthing. think of all the Troggs and dark irons we've killed for these guys.

p.s. It would be cool if you can meet that guy who was trapped in the outhouse in the Searing Gorge

My guess is that there will NOT be a quartermaster for each of the 4 factions of the Alliance Vanguard. There is a quartermaster for the Alliance Vanguard as a whole though, so my guess is you have to increase all the factions of Alliance Vanguard to get rep rewards and there isn't a tabard since all level 80 instances give Alliance Vanguard rep if you don't have a rep tabard on.

I've done all quests in Howling Fjord, and a couple of the dailys, and I'm halfway to honored... It will take a LONG time getting to exalted by just doing that daily quest. Any ideas?

do i automatically get rep with alliance vanguard by doing quests or earning rep with any of the associated factions?

I've been looking through the rep for the individual factions that belong to vanguard and I see where it gives rep for them, but not for alliance vanguard. I would really like to get exalted with vanguard asap - what's the best way to do that?

Has anyone found more daily quests past honored? Once you tickover into honored, you can no longer do the flying quest at Steel gate. Exalted is currently locked out.

Just like all factions in wow you'll get the odd rep gain just by doing quests. You'll be exalted by the Explorer's League before you're an 80. When you gain rep for any of the Alliance Vanguard factions 50% of the rep gained goes into Alliance Vanguard. So even at exalted with Explorer's League you'll gain 75 rep to Alliance Vanguard by doing the daily quests in Howling Fjord.

There are also pvp dalies for Exlorer's League in Grizzly Hills and dailys in Ice Crown for Alliance Vanguard.

At 80 by questing alone you should be roughly 1/3 of the way (7500/21000) to exalted with alliance Vanguard.

Doing all the dailys available gives (off the top of my head) about1500 rep to Alliance vanguard. Toss in the odd lvl 80 instance without wearing a tabbard and you should be exalted in about 2 weeks, about the same timeframe as it took with the Netherwing.

Dumb question time. How do you "meet" and start gaining reputation with this faction? I just figured if you went to Howling Fjord you would start the rep but I have done 27 quests in this zone and they haven't shown in my reputation tab.

To meet this you have to do the quest chain that starts with The Human League.

It's interesting that there are Explorers' League questgivers in Grizzly Hills, but you don't get any reputation from that quests...

Anyone else get the feeling they're going to pull another wildhammer rep dump? What I mean is in hinterlands you used to be able to rep up with the wildhammer dwarves (no real point just a side project) but that faction was removed completely presumably in prep for when they were going to have wildhammer dwarves in shadowmoon and wanted to level the playing field. I'm guessing there'll be some kind of rep associated with Ulduar (although maybe not since the others don't yet) but if so they usually don't want others "ahead" like that. Maybe an offshoot rep like sha'tar/aldor/scryer became sso. "Brann's Expedition" as a faction or whatever.

...there are a number of very easy to acquire items that can help you look like a Prospector.

Head: Russet Hat. Sold by many cloth armor vendors.
Shirt: Rugged Trapper's Shirt. Level 1 Dwarf and Night Elf hunters start with these. Not soulbound.
Pants: Rugged Trapper's Pants. Level 1 Dwarf and Night Elf hunters start with these. Not soulbound.
Feet: Rugged Trapper's Boots. Level 1 Dwarf and Night Elf hunters start with these. Not soulbound.
Belt: Thick Cloth Belt. Sold by the same cloth armor vendors as the Russet Hat.

For an extra special touch, make a guild with a turquoise tabard, a white, untextured border, and a white crossed-pickax logo, and equip the tabard.

I'm a little confused. Given everything that happens in Northrend, I would have thought that Brann Bronzebeard would be considered part of the Explorer's League. If I recall correctly, he suggests a link to the Explorer's League in the initial communicator messages. However, they don't show him on the list here.

Is Bran part of the EL or isn't he?

Brann is part of the Explorer's League. He is not, however, one of the two founding members. Those two would be Munin and Tomli Magellas.

High Explorer Brann Bronzebeard

Voted in through a severely compromised election, Brann quickly made up for his questionable rise to power by creating a new, flexible image for the crown. He served for five and a half years before resigning to return to exploration in the field.

High Explorer Munin Magellas

One of the two founders of the Explorer's League, Munin was quickly reinstated after Brann left the post. He was generally well liked, and presided over the League when the true nature of Uldaman was discovered by a team of heroes. He served for five years, being outvoted by his brother, Tomli, three weeks before the Scourge unleashed its new plague.

High Explorer Tomli Magellas

The nature of Tomli's leadership may never be fully known, as he resigned as High Explorer after the Battle of the Wrathgate. He served for a total of two months.

High Explorer Brann Bronzebeard (Second Term)

Replacing Tomli in his second term, Brann rejoined the League to oversee the meeting of the Frostborn, discovery of Ulduar, and the Sons of Hodir. Though he was extremely popular during this time, after half a year, he reached the maximum term of six years and was forced to resign. Many League councilmen were in favor of changing League Law to allow Bronzebeard to remain in command.

In other words, Brann was High Explorer before during Warcraft III and the Frozen Throne. Munin became High Explorer during WoW and Burning Crusade. Tomli was elected at the start of Wrath, but resigned after the Wrathgate. Brann served again for half a year until 3.1. Dellorah Hammerspike is the current High Explorer, and is found in Ulduar.

Also unmentioned here is Yunanini Hammersmith, forcibly elected High Explorer of the League just before Warcraft III. Because he was placed in charge by the Crown, he was despised and was voted out after one term.

Bah, got exalted with Alliance Vanguard & Valiance Expedition. Until some more ways of raising rep is released I don't see the point of it, other then for the achievement.

It does seem odd that there is still only one daily that gives rep with them, and no benefits to gaining it. Muradin Bronzebeard is supposedly part of Icecrown, perhaps it'll become a supported reputation then?

Something I don't quite get about this.

In terms of lore, the explorers league, although being part of ironforge and his search for knowledge, have often proven themselves to be more neutral a faction in the pursuit of that knowledge, as a member of the horde you sometimes come across members of the explorers league around Azeroth you can interact with.

So then why are they part of the alliance vanguard, as being oppose to the horde? Brann has already proven he doesn't side with the horde/alliance war and only wants to search for knowledge.

I faction changed after doing all the horde quests(for the Taunka), and was able to do all the alliance quests for these guys, so I'm like 3000 rep into revered without once doing the daily.

I found this statement in the PTR forum, recently. Even thought it says only "Frostborn", I guess the same thing will happen for this faction, I'm exalted so i can't really check.

On EU Servers, this is true. Getting loads of Explorer's League rep from doing dungeons and raids. Not sure if I am also getting Frostborn rep atm, maybe after I hit 999/1000 exalted with TEL Frostborn will tick in, if it issnt atm, only seen TEL tick over screen, but I have gotten Frostborn rep from somewhere :)

Damn, you were a bit quicker with this comment. I just wondered the same a few days ago but didn´t bother to write here. This seems very likely due to the fact that they quite recently changed the rep gains to make getting exalted that much easier.

I wish they´d make an achievement about getting exalted with them though... Maybe an Indiana Jones-themed outfit as reward or smth :)

Once you've done all other quests, the remaining ways to get reputation with this faction are the Steel Gate Patrol daily (+250 rep), and then (at least) these four Argent Tournament dailies once you've maxed out The Silver Covenant: Among the Champions, Battle Before The Citadel, Taking Battle To The Enemy, and Threat From Above (or their respective Death Knight versions), each giving +62.5 reputation, for a daily total of 500 reputation, or 437.5 if you aren't able to do Threat From Above. (You also get 51.79 G, up to 4×Champion's Purse and 5×Champion's Seal.)

I haven't verified it personally but I would also assume you get some Explorers' League reputation from the earlier sets of dailies you have to grind in order to get to Exalted Argent Champion of the Alliance, such as A Blade Fit For A Champion or A Valiant's Field Training. The formula appears to be that, once you're at 999/1000 Exalted, every 4 points of The Silver Covenant reputation is rewarded as one point of Explorers' League reputation. I was well on my way in Revered once I was done with all of those and had done Loremaster of Northrend, so I only had like 11k reputation to grind with the remaining four reputation-giving Tournament dailies and Steel Gate Patrol.
