Regardless of what some have said on other sites, there are a few daily quests you can complete to raise your reputation with the Alliance Vanguard. From my experience thus far I am only able to get about one bubble of reputation per day at Revered (i.e. 5%), actually slightly less than one bubble, but it's better than nothing in my opinion.

When I hit level 80 I was only about 20-25% into Revered, so this may be different for you depending on how many quests you completed that granted Alliance Vanguard reputation. I personally didn't do every single quest which granted Vanguard rep and it should only take roughly 2 weeks worth of dailies to gain exalted status. The following daily quests will gain you 137 or 138 reputation upon completion (125 for non human races, thanks Drewsy):

Break the Blockade (Howling Fjord)
Blackriver Skirmish (Grizzly Hills)
Kick 'Em While They're Down (Grizzly Hills)
Life or Death (Grizzly Hills)
Blood of the Chosen (Icecrown)
Assault by Ground (Icecrown)
Assault by Air (Icecrown)
King of the Mountain (Icecrown)
Get the Message (Icecrown)
Pushed Too Far (The Storm Peaks)

I'm sure this list is incomplete so if you know of any other dailies that increase Alliance Vanguard reputation please let me know. Hopefully this is of use to some... at least those who don't wish to just grind level 80 dungeons for reputation, nice to know there is another option I suppose. I recommend doing these dailies and then getting a 80+ dungeon group whenever you can, and it should go relatively fast.

This faction, strangely, does not count towards the "XX exalted" achievement. I am still 30/35 after getting the 30 achievement on Argent Crusade.

Basically, this rep is considered 'apart', yet 'combined'. Having exalted with this faction does not mean you will be exalted with all the 'contained' ones, shown by the fact that I have revered with them, and yet no rep with the covenant. I assume doing VE rep will give you AV rep, but not certain if it does work that way. Most of the rest of the reps have a hidden 'container' value, that is an average of the contained ones, this one is very different.
This is also why it doesn't count as a rep for the achievement.

The faction's opening blurb is incorrect in that you do not have to have exalted with two of the contained factions to get exalted with this one. You earn Alliance Vanguard reputation by not wearing a tabard inside any of the level 80 instances. I currently have exalted with AV, but not a single exalted between the containted reputation.

You Can wear the Tabard of the explorer in lvl 80 dungeons and gain rep that way

After having exalted all the "tabard gathering" reputation factions (Kirin Tor,Wyrmrest Accord,Knights of the Ebon Blade and the Argent Crusade),I stopped wearing any of these factions' tabards and while on heroics I was gathering reputation with the Alliance Vanguard.

You dont need to have all the 4 sub-factions exalted.Im almost exalted now and I have only Valliance Expedition exalted,The Silver Covenant neutral as it is not possible for gathering reputation,The Explorer's League friendly thanks to some quests in Howling Fjord and The Frostoborn honored thanks to the daily quest in The Storm Peaks.

Being exalted with the Vanguard allows many useful things among the engineering "Motorbike":P Which is not BOP and can be sold.It is a multi-passenger mount and can hold 2 people(the rider and the co-rider)

This is one of five different factions which which you can gain reputation by killing things in level 80 dungeons. They all have solo daily quests that award substantial reputation...except for the Kirin Tor, which has only a small amount of solo repeatable reputation, and only if you have the trade skill.

As such, if you want reputation with the Kirin Tor, you should always wear its tabard when in a level 80 dungeon. The other reps...you can get without needing to put together a group.

Kirin Tor: 150 rep/day for cooking + 25 rep/day for jewelcrafting
Wyrmrest Accord: 750 rep/day (Dragonblight and Borean Tundra dailies)
Argent Crusade: 1100 rep/day with Icecrown and Zul'Drak dailies
Alliance Vanguard / Horde Expedition: 1163 / 1375 rep/day with Icecrown and Grizzly Hills dailies (includes 50% of the rep you get from the Valiance Expedition / Warsong Offensive daily quests)
Knights of the Ebon Blade: 1500 rep/day with Icecrown dailies, plus 10 rep repeatable non-daily

Is it possible to earn alot of gold with the Mekgineer's Chopper recipe in selling the AH?

I thought about it, and if you are capable of making the chopper, it should be also possible to craft the chopper, and sell it with 2000-4000 gold profit?

Can someone confirm this question?

I never saw someone selling the expensive non-engineer chopper, and it's difficult to trust someone with 12.000- 14.000 gold. I saw a chance in making money with it, but i wanna get this confirmed plz :).

The chopper is an exalted rep reward of the Alliance Vanguard.

This is a list of non-PVP dailies for Alliance that to my knowledge don't require you to any group missions as a prereq, which will give Alliance Vanguard rep:

Argent Tournament (quest givers vary by race)
Learning The Reins or The Grand Melee and/or Among the Champions
Training In The Field or A Valiant's Field Training and/or Taking Battle to the Enemy
A Worthy Weapon or The Edge of Winter or A Blade Fit for a champion
Jack Me Some Lumber
A Chip Off the Ulduar Block
At the Enemy's Gates and/or Battle Before the Citadel

Icecrown
Blood of the Chosen (Skybreaker)
Assault by Ground (Valley of Lost Hope)
Assault by Air (Valley of Lost Hope)

Storm Peaks
Pushed Too Far (Frosthold)

Howling Fjord

Here's how you can cycle through these with least amount of running around. I have just been flying between each point with my gathering skills trackers on, picking up a little extra cash that way.

I recommend you set your hearthstone in the Argent Tournament.

1. Pick up these in Argent Tournament: Learning the Reins or The Grand Melee and/or Among the Champions, Training in the Field or A Valiant's Field Training, At the Enemy's Gates and/or Battle Before the Citadel, A Worthy Weapon or The Edge of Winter, Jack Me Some Lumber, and A Chip off the Ulduar Block. Go ahead and get Learning the Reins/The Grand Melee/Among the Champions out of the way.

2. Fly to Icecrown and pick up Blood of the Chosen on the Skybreaker, top level

3. Fly to Valley of Lost Hope and pick up Assault by Ground and Assault by Air

4. Do Assault by Air to get it out of the way

5. Do Assault by Ground

6. When you get to the top, Kill guys in town to fill out Training in the Field/A Valiant's Field Training/Taking Battle to the Enemy and Blood of the Chosen

7. Go back to Valley of Lost Hope and turn in Assault by Ground and Assault by Air

8. Go to the Skybreaker and turn in Blood of the Chosen

9. If you have acheived Valiant status in Argent Tournament, go to the Court of Bones and do At The Enemy's Gates, and if you've achieved Champion status, at the same time do Battle Before the Citadel

10. If you have A Worthy Weapon, fly to the border with Crystalsong and get the 4 lillies

11. Get the lumber for Jack Me Some Lumber. Don't bother killing the treants that spawn -- just run

(This is a good spot to insert the Dalaran cooking and fishing dailies if you do those)

12. If you have The Edge of Winter, fly to the Crystal Vice and kill Lord Everblaze

13. Fly to Frosthold in Storm Peaks and pick up Pushed Too Far. Fly on the bird you get for that quest to Engine of the Makers

14. Do Pushed Too Far, then dismount, and do A Chip Off the Ulduar Block

15. Fly back to Frosthold and turnin Pushed Too Far

16. If you have A Worthy Weapon, fly to the Zul'Drak/Dragonblight border to get the weapon for A Worthy Weapon

17. If you have A Blade Fit for a champion, fly to Grizzly Hills just south of Camp Oneqwah and get to smooching.

18. If you have The Edge of Winter, fly to the lake in northern Howling Fjord and use the embers on the dryad to get Winter's Edge

19. Fly to Howling Fjord and do Steel Gate Patrol

20. Go to Westguard Keep and do Breaking the Blockade (You don't need to ride the zeppelin -- just fly to a ship, land, and let loose)

21. Hearth back to Argent Tournament and turnin.

Also, do all the quests in both Howling Fjord and Borean Tundra, and do the initial quest chains in Argent Tournament.

There is no tabard for this faction. You will get rep if you haven't any of WotlK reputation tabards equiped.

Once you are exalted with the Valiance Expedition you can still gain rep of the Alliance Vanguard by completing the rest of the quests of the Expedition (some about a half). Now I'm exalted with the Expedition and Friendly with the Explorer's League, but I already have the 4500 of exalted of the Vanguard.

You can also gain Rep with this faction by doing the dailies for the Argent Tournment. I put the Alliance Vanguard rep tracking bar up and turned in quests for the Silver Covenant at the Argent Tournament and was getting rep for both even though on screen it says you are gaining rep for the Silver Covenant. Just another way to gain rep for these guys.

You can also get to exalted if you run heroic instances and don't wear a tabard.

theres three factions taht make up the alliance vanguard: explorers league, valiance expedition, and the silver covenant so to get rep with alliance vanguard, you need to get rep with those 3 and i think it averages it out or something. im currently revered with expedition and friendly with explorers league and im honored with vanguard.

I tried to look up how to raise rep with the factions that make up the Alliance Vanguard. I actually saw a post elsewhere that shows four groups....
Explorers' League (Ironforge)
The Frostborn (Ice Dwarves)
Silver Covenant (High Elves)
Valiance Expedition (Stormwind)

Rep can be had from the Explorer's League from quests in Howling Fjord. Look up the Explorer's League faction for a list of these quests. There aren't many so I'm not sure how to take this one up to exalted. I'm still hoping to run across some sort of repeatable quest for rep with this faction but so far I've come up empty. If anyone does find a repeatable quest...please please post it ASAP. Most of these quests also give Valiance Expedition rep as well.

I have not found where you might be able to get much rep for The Frostborn or Silver Covenant posted anywhere yet. The Frostborn (per thottbot) only has 3 quests listed and the SC has none, only a list of creatures that give rep. As more content is explored, more information on these may be posted.

I've done all the quests in Borean Tundra and am halfway through honored with Valiance Expedition. There are many more quests in Howling Fjord (aside from the Explorer's League ones) as well as in Grizzly Hills that give VE rep. It seems as though simply completing the quests in these four areas should be more than enough to hit exalted.

i did all the quests for them in borean tundra, and im 8000/12000 into honored, moving onto howling fjord should increase your rep quite into revered.

I'm throwing this out here as complete supposition and have no way to verify it....but is just makes logical sense.

Most of us are interested in purchasing items from the Alliance Vangard quartermaster. It seems simple enough...get exalted with the Alliance Vanguard. Unfortunately, Blizz has done something that has turned this simple straight forward approach into a confusing pain.
Here is why this is a genuinely discombolulating issue....

To buy from the Consortium quartermaster, you must have a certain rep with the Consortium faction which is under the grouping called The Burning Crusade.
To buy from the Lower City quartermaster, you must have a certain rep with the Lower City faction which is under the grouping called Shattrath City.

(here is the confusing part)
To buy from the Alliance Vanguard quartermaster, you must have rep with the ? faction which is under the GROUPING called the ALLIANCE VANGUARD.

Valiance Expedition is a faction under the grouping called Alliance Vanguard, but does being exalted with VE let you buy from the AV quartermaster? This is what has everyone's head spinning.
I am guessing (and hoping) that being exalted with VE is enough to buy my Chopper schematic. The alternative is too horrible to contemplate....having to get exalted with EACH of the factions under the grouping of Alliance Vanguard.

Here's how it works guys. Yes, all factions below add to Alliance Vanguard rep as they increase, but here i the key that will get you to exalted. Once you are exalted with any of the factions listed below it (eg Alliance expedition) once you earn extra rep in the lower category, it automatically adds to the vanguard. This is what i have observed on my toon.

Okay.

Did Heroic Gundrak and Heroic Drak'Tharon Keep last night, and inside both got half way to exalted with them. So, I guess once you have used all the quests up, it's a Heroic grind after that.

It may be possible to grind the dungeons at Normal difficulty, get the rep for them - which might work up to (say) revered, but no further.
THEN do the quests which grant the extra rep you need.

This is how it worked in outland... No rep in normal dungeons beyond revered.

I don't agree with the above poster. Most people probably wouldn't be exalted with all the factions before first becoming exalted with the vanguard (I'm midway thru revered and 0/3000 neutral with the elves)
However, if you want to avoid heroics, it may be the way to do it.

The Alliance Vanguard encompasses all the forces fighting for the Alliance including:

* Explorers' League (Ironforge)
* The Frostborn (Frost dwarves)
* The Silver Covenant (High elves)

Their Horde counterpart is the Horde Expedition.

Half of the reputation gains from the Alliance Vanguard's four sub-factions count towards this the Alliance Vanguard's reputation.

For example, doing a quest for the Valiance Expedition, earning you 250 reputation with the Valiance Expedition, also gives 125 reputation with the Alliance Vanguard. Therefore, you must have two of the four sub-factions at Exalted in order to be exalted with the Alliance Vanguard, or the equivalent amount of reputation spread across all four.

Allright, i heard that if you do Level 80 dungeons with no tabbard you get Rep. with Alliance Vanguard. My question is does that mean heroics only, and any heroic? Also what if your wearing "Tabard of the Shattered Sun" for example which does not give Rep. when wearig it like the WOTLK tabards, do you still get Rep. for Alliance Vanguard when doing level 80 instances? Thank you!

When questing, you gain exactly half of the rep for alliance vanguard that you get for any specific AV faction.

When you get reputation with one of the Sub Factions, half of that also goes into this faction. Also, I am exhalted with Valiance Expedition, and when I do a quest that would give rep, including dailies, it still adds to this reputation.

To gain Alliance Vanguard Rep just do any 75 Plus instance with no tabard on.
If you want to build some rep for other factions as well just put on the factions tabard before each boss fight and you get the bulk rep for the boss towards the faction you are wearing.
Remember to take the tabard off after fight to gain Vanguard rep for all the mobs

You do NOT have to be on heroic to get the rep.
It does NOT have to be an 80 only instance.
Lightning Halls and Pinnacle both give rep and you can go to those at 78

There are a few dungens wich give rep souly for AV Halls of lighning Culling of stratholme in CoT and few others that where listed. There is no tabard that u can buy from them. But easy way to lvl and get exaulted with them is if u started in Valance expidition and did all the quest for them then goto HF and start the quests there and do all of them up inot grizzly hills , by the time u get done with all the quests there u should be exaulted or realy close to it and can run a few dungens to get the rest. For those that want the Bike they can be baught on the Ah on m server there about 2k.

For the record, Heroics (with no tabard) will give 1 rep per non-elite kill, 15 rep per elite kill, and 250 rep for bosses. It's a fast way to get the rep, though I'd rather be doing dailies for the $ to get my bike built.

Vendormats, can only be purchased when reaching exalted with the Alliance Vanguard. Just do heroics with no tabard equipped.
And skill your engineering to 450.

Sold by an NPC at K3 by the flightpath.

Elementium-plated Exhaust Pipe = 1500g
Goblin-machined Piston = 1000g each x 8 = 8000g
Salvaged Iron Golem Parts = 3000g

The easier mats would be;
40x handful of cobalt Bolts - beats me, avg like 40g/stk = 80g?
2x Arctic Fur - avg 50g AH = 100g
12x Titansteel Bar (20h cd for miners) - avg 275 AH = 3300g

so expect this bad boy to be at least 12500 + mats or 15500 + tip to make it...

15,500 gold mats, whats a reasonable tip considering engineering to 450 is NOT a easy feat and the rep grind is horrific at best of times...... 1000-2000g doesnt seem that unreasonable.......

So based on what I just read. If one can identify all 4 sub factions and rep with them... To get exalted with the Vanguard all one has to do is just be honored with each faction + a little bit more. Honored + 1500 more towards revered. Or if from what I heard, the fourth faction has yet to be researched or found then... honored + 5000 towards revered for 3 factions to be exalted.

Just do all the leveling quests to get rep before 80, and then wear no tabbard in 80 instances and in heroics and get huge chunks of rep. 250 for each boss killed, so in instances where there are 4 bosses you get 1k rep for the bosses alone, not to mention the 13-30 rep for each mob killed on the way to the bosses.

Or if you dont mind grinding, go into H VH, kill the first boss or 2, then allow a mob to beat down wall. It starts over, and although the boss you already killed leaves no loot more than once, you get the 250 rep again for killing it over and over. You can grind some serious rep that way in a relatively short time if you and your group are only there for the rep.... I know it's cheesy, but it works.

It works best if you have a good group. My best time in heroic VH for a full run is 17 minutes. So thats why I said its a quick rep run if u wipe and repeat.

I am 3756/21000 Alliance Vanguard. I was getting rep doing REGULAR Utgarde Pinnacle without any tabbard on. It is less than heroic per kill but it is rep for AV.

for the people saying you get rep for UP and COS and HOL on regular not heroic , those ARE level 80 instances even though you can run them at a lower level , and no it does not have to be a heroic instance , but you get way more rep for a heroic and you get the rep for ANY heroic dungeon in Northrend

there are 3 dailies in grizzly hills that improve it. one right out of flight point by the inn. the other 2 in blue sky that involve healing wounded people and killing horde not that hard i do it every day gets you bout 450 for normal people but even more for humans beacause of the help. it takes just few minutes to do

From patch 3.1 you raise rep with Silver Covenant by doing dailies in Argent tournament. I'm exalted with Valiance, almost revered with Silver Covenant (245 to go) and friendly with EL and Frostborn, but I only need 874 to be eaxalted with the Alliance Vanguard.
That means that you need to be exalted with one and revered with a second to get to exalted with the group

The rep requirements for Alliance Vanguard are not necessarily tightly tied to the sub-factions.

I have just hit exalted with AV. My VE rep is maxed out exalted, but the other three factions are
all just friendly, and not even particularly high in friendly -- 3490, 2495, and 1220/6000 for EL, FB. and SC respectively.

Repeatable daily quests on the Skybreaker and at the foot (East side) of Ymirheim give good AV rep

Lvl 80 instances are Instances set on the "Heroic" setting. E.g. Heroic Nexus, Heroic Utgard, Heroic Gundrak, etc. I dont raid much so I am not sure about raids such as Ulduar, Vault, or others of the like.
