It should be noted that the Realm First to 80 achievements for classes and races have been removed from the expansion. The titles and achievements for the 450 professions and secondary skill Realm Firsts were removed as well.

This will likely be one of the first "Realm First" FoSs to be done on most servers, due to the way fishing is leveled up. All you have to do to level up fishing is to catch fish anywhere. So, to get this, you have to grab WotLK at midnight, rush home, have a good computer to install it quickly, then rush off to Northrend to get Grand Master Fishing, head back to a capital city and fish for a good three hours or so and hope somebody else didn't beat you at these steps on your server.

This achievement sucks for people on the West Coast. East Coast will have a 2/3 hour head start. :(

First person in Nordrsail (EU) to make this achevment it took about 5 hours.. could this even be a world first, don't know don't care, just happy to do it ;-)

I was realm first on Hellscream (EU) to 450 fishing. It's a realm-wide announce, so I got like 30 whispers about it. I leveled by fishing for about 4 hours in Azuremyst Isle.

Just like the two above, I was the first on my realm Kazzak (EU) took 4 hours, 9 minutes I think, but that could have easily been cut down to less than 4 :P

Vexacus (Extreme Angling Club) here, SSL EU Realm First Master Angler.

Was waiting at UC zep tower on release evening, soon as Northrend was up jumped on the zep, ran to trainer, then HS to bloodhoof.
Ran to a quiet part of the stone bull lake where I wouldn't be disturbed and and fished for roughly 3 and three quarter hours.
Spammed by /w when achievement was announced, great fun.
Seeing as I am co-leader of the only fishing RP guild on SSL it was something that just had to be done.

Karazhan EU PvP now has the server first fanatic fisherman a Tauren Shaman level 70.
From 375 to 450 was easy, Vengeance Landing waterwalking and fish on. It took little less than 3 hours in total, but chatlog got quite full of GZ and QQ whispers.
Why did I fish in northrend? I got huge advantage to level cooking as you can imagine the amount of fish I had, maybe going for the cooking too since it seems to be overlooked by most.
grab your fishing poles and go catch some fish, honestly worth it.

I was Realm First! Grand Master Angler on Rexxar (US).

Brimoonfang, Tauren Feral Druid tank (4Tier4)

I picked up my copy at Wal-Mart at 12:15 (only because GameStop screwed up my pre-order!), drove home and installed it.
I had the luxury of time because I live in NY but I play on a Central time server.

I was already logged off at the gates of Undercity.
Ran to the new zep tower, took the ride to Vengeance Landing
in Howling Fjord. Ran down the docks to the trainer,
ran onto the beach and started fishing around 1am EST.

I killed a few crabs and Orca when they got too close, but mostly just fished. Got the 500 fish and 1000 fish achievements along the way, and caught a rare Dark Herring. I had Fish tracking turned on, and tried to grab pools whenever they spawned.

I filled up two 20-slot bags with fish, plus a lot of curious crates which yielded me a stack of Frostweave cloth, a stack of Cobalt ore, and a stack of Borean leather scraps. The pools also gave me a total of 16 crystallized water.

It seemed to take about 10 fish per point, which is slower than I was led to believe from beta reports. In the end I finished around 7:30am EST (total fishing time about six hours) and was whisper-bombed by well-wishers.

Thanks to everyone who responded, by the way. My chat log lit up in a wall of purple text and I couldn't respond to everyone, although I tried.

This is also a good way to work on your Cooking skill.
I had around 165 Imperial Manta Rays, which cook into a great +Haste/+Stamina food (perfect for bear tanks), and this recipe goes gray after 50 points, which got me to 425 Cooking while AFK.

.. and here's how I actually did it (Ravencrest EU).

I had already installed WotLK about a week before, thanks to the leaked install DVD. I did however wait in line for 4½ hours, was the 10th in line to grab my Collectors Edition and raced home to activate my account. I had already positioned my dwarf at the docks in Menethil Harbor and after an endless wait, the ship bound for Northrend arrived.

After taking the full tour to reach the docks in Valgarde, realising a bit too late that jumping off before the ship enters the small tunnel/cave and swimming to the shore might actually be faster, I found myself at the Grand Master Fisherman trainer and bought the skill increase.

Having done the Outland fishing daily for quite some time, I had a good supply of +100 fishing lures and together with my trusty Seth's Graphite Fishing Pole, it meant that once I got my first 5 skill points, taking my total fishing skill to 475, it effectively meant that no more fish would get away. And after that it was basically a matter of settling in for the long grind. Effective ways of getting time to tick over, included handing out advice to new players arriving in Howling Fjord on where they could upgrade their various professions, giving pointers to players stuck on quests (as I had been fortunate to play on the beta realm), talking to guild mates who popped on and off as the night progressed, talking to some friends on ventrilo, and most importantly, watching my inventory grow full of fish.

A short server restart at about 4 am gave a quick break, but I was soon back in the fishing game, and as my skill level ticked closer and closer to 450, and there still had not been a Server First Angler announced, I got quite a bit excited. With my skill level at 449, and it having been there for 14 casts, my heart was beating quite a bit faster, when, alas, a Server First Achievement popped up in the chat window. I was certain that I had lost it, but as my sight moved to check the chat log, I noticed that it was not a Realm First! Grand Master Angler that had been found, it was instead a Herbalist.

And so, on November 13th at 05:10 AM, I became the first fisherman on Ravencrest EU to reach 450 fishing skill. Many whispers soon came my way, as well as greetings from horde friends via messenger.

I had recieved a grand total of 490 Bonescale Snappers, 174 Fangtooth Herrings, 154 Glacial Salmons, 85 Pygmy Suckerfish, as well as 13 crystallized water, 14 borean leather scraps, and 9 cobolt ore from various crates.

For those who are wondering, yes these are present in classic version of WoTLK.

Multiple people can receive it if they have finished within 1 minute of eachother.

Got mine on Deadmîst - Golemagg EU alongside some other person.
