This quest was to be added in 3.1, (but they appear to have just reused the original) making things much easier for Horde who want the Westfall chicken; the Special Chicken Feed can be purchased from "Westfall" William Saldean in Brill.

I just got my Westfall Chicken earlier this afternoon. William Saldean is located near the stables in Brill just across from the inn. The chicken feed can be bought from him.

To get the pet, just find a chicken and do the /chicken emote until he looks at you quizzically. The chicken's name will turn from yellow to green and you can then pick up the quest. You'll need to emote a /cheer and give him the Special Chicken Feed. I suggest you buy it before you start to save time, the chicken will change back to yellow if you take too long. If he does don't worry, just /chicken him again until you can interact with him. Once you give him the feed, he'll lay an egg, and all you have to do is loot and enjoy your new pet. :3

It does take a lot of /chicken emotes for the chicken to react. To make things easier, you can make a simple /chicken macro and put it on your bars. :)

The chicken looks up at you and then starts to scratch its claws into the ground. You think it is spelling out a word, but you are not sure what it is. Could it be... S-A-L-D-E-A-N? Before you can ask, the chicken turns away and goes about its business.]
