Just to clarify, she (he?) is a female Vrykul.

When you transition into Phase 2, Sara will transform into one of those Val'kyr maidens and hover above Yogg-Saron. At this point, instead of trying to decieve you, she will be flat out trying to kill you or drive you insane, using the Death Ray, Psychosis, Brain Link and Malady of the Mind spells against your raid.

When phase 3 ends she disappears for good as you take on Yogg-Saron head on.

Sara is likely a reference to Sarah Susan Phillips Lovecraft, H.P Lovecraft's mother, the author of the C'thullu Mythos from which Yog-Sothoth(Yog-Saron) stems.

Apperently his father died early in his life, which made him very dependent on his mother.
