Can be killed easily as a warlock, as he is NOT immune to fear. Just stack CoA, Corruption and Immolate and keep him feared. Life Tap and First Aid come in handy here because the battle takes some time...

This guy was an easy kill, but from using him as a minion later, he's not worth the hassle. He attacks you after 5 minutes until you enslave him again, at which time he becomes immune to fear, and then he becomes increaingly harder to enslave due to the nature of the enslave spell. He can't hold aggro and has a poor set of attack skills, the ONLY thing this guy is good at is PVP, he actually rocks there....send him in to a group of the enemy and watch the damage and bodies fly....till some bright spark of a warlock banishes him..

Despite what many people will tell you about this being easy, I've found it to be an extremely difficult fight solo. I attempted this at level 50 with a Voidwalker and saw my pet recieve damage between 650 and 1200 within the first 10 seconds of the fight. My Voidwalker was dead within 3 hits.

If you're going to fight Kroshius, either be close to 60 (or above), or have a group ready to help. I imagine having a good tank, or some fire resist would help as all of his attacks are classed as fire damage.

Solo'd at lvl 51, using Imp for Blood Pact and Dark Pact, Feared him and casted UA, CoA and Corruption. When I got hit I cast Siphon Life and did some Drain Life. Not hard to kill just keep fear up.

I, level 53 affliction Warlock, had no need at all for fear; I kited him; if you keep Curse of Exhaustion, Siphon Life and Corruption on him at all times, it's just a matter of time before you get him. When you're a bit further ahead you can use an occasional Unstable Affliction, but it's only a luxury. Had the VW out should he get near me (for the Sacrificability^^).
I kited him northwards, and I reccommend the same, long, fairly straight road.
Used no pots safe a noggenfogger elixir (Skeletal kiting <3 ).
By the way, if you're lucky and have a rare named Immolatus out here (like me): if you can kite Kroshius, you can kite him.

i dont know wat ppl are talkin bout this being easy, i tried soloing this guy on a 62 hunter for a friend COMPLETELY underestimating him, sent in pet and he took out pet in like 4 hits, he hit 500s and crit a 1000 then came over to me and completely owned me, but then i actually tried and found it easy

Completely destroyed him as a 55 Affliction spec Warlock.

1) Send Voidwalker in to tank while you lay the initial DoTs.
2) Siphon Life, Curse of Agony, Corruption, Unstable Affliction, Immolate
3) Fear
4) Lifetap, Lifetap, Lifetap (to about half HP to get most if not all of your mana back)
5) Drain Life, Drain Life
6) Fear
7) Reapply DoTs when needed and fear again.

Basically you just have to keep him feared, he didn't resist any of my fears, I think I used maybe 5 or 6 in total in the entire fight and only one didn't last the full duration. The fight took maybe a minute and a half max.

Keeping him feared is the key to winning this fight, but to be fair it's often the key to winning a fight against any tough elite.

Learn this lesson well, Warlocks. It'll set you up nicely for future encounters.

This is not hard at all, as long as he's orange to you. He's a 55 elite - there's a BIG difference between being level 50 and 51 here (I personally find harder killing a 55 non-elite, than a 54 elite at this level). Simply because you will get an increased ammount of resists. But If you're 51 and have surpression this one should be cake. So Nuro you don't need to be close to 60 at all. You just needed to ding one more level and try him again - you'd get him down much easier.

Ok, scratch everything above now. Patch 2.3 made Kroshius non-elite. Which means its a simple VW tank and spank and in 30 seconds you got your Infernal.

Obliterated him as a lvl 69 Affliction Warlock. Cast CoA and Corruption on him then hit him with my Totemic Staff a couple of times. Died in, like, five seconds!

Two things about Kroshius that are different from other Infernals: He's not Immune to Fire, so you can shorten the fight a bit with Immolate, and he's not Immune to fear, so you can keep the damage you take to a minimum by keeping him Feared.

Was simple for a 53 Demo Warlock, didn't need to use fear or any of that chicken crap. Just sent my Felguard in, casted Corruption and Curse of Agony (At the time, i thought he'd be immune to fire like other infernals, but apparently not), and just started spamming Shadow Bolt. 10 seconds, not even.

Kroshius used to be an elite with a lot more health, making the fight much more difficult. Now, however, it has been nerfed into oblivion. If you can kill 55's, which you have to be able to to get the pre-req done, you can complete the quest with no problems.

I would've prefered if they kept Kroshius as an elite to provide a challenging fight in the final part of the chainquest and buff the drop rates on the Fel Essences instead of nerfing this mob.

At level 55, myself and a 60 warrior took him down. Curse of weakness to lessen the damage, then nuked him until I pulled aggro or warrior got weak. Then banished him, giving us time to bandage up. If already bandaged debuff wasn't up yet, just rebanish ASAP. Took some time and a bunch of bandages, but we got him.

lvl 53 warlock, 1st try

thought i would do straight up melee fight going in so was prepared to cast bluey over and over, but seeing as bluey was getting killed in 5-8 hits went to plan B.

fear...fear...fear...fear. just kept stacking CoA, Corruption and Immolate. didnt nuke at all. allow your dots to do their work and wand if you want, but stand outside fear distance so you have time to re-cast.

and as someone mentioned earlier, banish him when your dots are about to expire. and bandage up, recast bluey (sacrifice comes in handy when fear/banish gets resisted) didnt even have him attack just in case he could break fear.

even died once because i got lazy (he was down to 10%), but used my soulstone and caught him back at 50%.

if i could do it over again, could get in a groove much easier.

Rediculously easy to solo at level 57. Just kept him feared the whole time, had my succy beating on him with the dots ticking away, and he went down without ever even hitting me. I even got off a soulfire just for the hell of it :D

At lvl 55, I successfully soloed Kroshius after a number of tries. I'm affliction spec'd. What finally worked for me was this: started out with void, sacrificed void for shield 1/3 of the way through, then summoned imp and kept it out of combat as a mana battery so I could keep those DoTs up. I kept him feared as much as possible and banished when I needed to bandage up. Not impossible, but definitely not easy.

I imagine it would be quite easy to solo with the felguard. If you're aff spec like me though, just bring out your felhunter beforehand, fear, dot, dark pact, (lifetap if needed, in which case, drain life), fear, dot, drain life, etc.

Fortunately, I had a 60 mage to help me out. The infernal one-shotted his water elemental and nearly killed us both because we got too cocky.

Those of you who said you have a hard time dealing with this guy while affliction specced, you must've done something wrong. For me as a lvl 54 affliction lock it was incredibly easy. Sure when he got in melee range it really hurt, but with fear and constant dottage he was down after a few minutes.

Lvl 51 shadow spec priest (me) and my lvl 51 demon spec lock friend just tried this... it's is IMPOSSIBLE . ^_^ Was worth a shot though.

We'll be coming back at 52 or 53.

Im not sure whether it has been changed or not, but im a 53 lock and the only fear spell that would work for me was death coil... the rest sucked. Just thought I'd let people know, cos this wasnt as easy as it seemed. Especially since he hits for 1k, and when you cant keep him feared it makes life difficult. Took him down with myself and 60 mage, and i used a health pot and a soulstone along the way.

Oh, and why did no one mention the chicken?

Just soloed this guy(i'm 53)..... just use fear on him to make him run, and keep de-buffing him when he runs.... took about 5 min. to kill him..... simple as that...

Just solo'd him (by myself) at level 50.

Use curse of exhaustion and kite him around, keep your DoTs on him, he has around 15k hp it will take a few minutes.

Keep your imp out to dark pact from and you shouldn't ever get completely oom.

Fear if you want, it's a nice backup incase curse of exhaustion gets repeatedly resisted.

I ended up using death coil twice, so took about 3 minutes to kill him but it was done.

Fear and HoT works just fine, dont think I even used deathcoil. Took a while tho :)

Shouldn't be a problem at earlier level eaither, I soloed 54 and 55 devilsaurs at lvl 51.

i had to fear him alot and even while he's feared .. he kept burning my felguard for +600 dmg ..

just use Curese of weakness and everything will be just fine ! .... when i used the curse ... everything went fine ... untill another infernal (( 53 elite )) came in between .... i killed them both with 93 health but my felguard had +2000 health ...

I tried it and died first time, when I went back later on to try again, he was no longer alive, and i had used the felfire the first time. Went back to the imp that gave me the quest, but cant' get another felfire.

Solo'd at 53, just fear,dot,fear,dot,banish, fear and dot some more...it's rather easy

PS: Voidwalker worked best for me, he took out my Felguard too quickly.

I just did it as a 54 Affliction Lock. The easiest way I found to do it was this...

1. Start with VW and summon Kroshius

2. Take control of Kroshius

3. Use Kroshius to aggro 2-3 entropic elementals (Do not attack the elementals, let Kroshius take everything)

4. At about 10-15% of Kroshius' health (Depending on how fast he's getting killed by the mobs) summon your VW

5. Attack Kroshius with everything you have, kill Kroshius

6. Use VW to aggro remaining Mobs and kill them

7. Loot your rewards.

This worked the first time I tried it and I couldn't find a better way. Good luck!

Soloed at 52 (felguard build)

Enslaved him and, sent him after two entropic horrors at once and waited for his health to drain. When he was low (1/4) I finished off one of the entropics. The other one took him down to a sliver I hit fel domiantion and quick cast my felguard and sent him in to deliver the killing blow.

Easy.

This would work with VW on an affliction build about the same.

well im lvl 53 and i helepd my lvl 52 warlock mate deal with this it was quite simple we jsut kept using fear on him at one point i was oom so i used one of my denomic stones to increase my mana and we defeated him easily the only thing that died was his felguard and my wolf

I'm a level 51 destruction lock, tried to solo him... he totally destroyed me ;)

Went in with my VW, but the poor demon went down in 3 hits. Feared him, which lasted only 3 or 4 seconds, during which I could do no dmg at all since he ran out of my reach... Finally got some dot on him and got him to around 90%, then he just set me on fire and pummeled me to death in 2 blows :P

Gonna try again when lvl 52 so I can try to enslave.

I think Kroshius has been nerfed in last patch, he's non elite and me (lvl 50)and a 53 druid took him down in about 10 seconds.

15 seconds soloable as a 53 affliction warlock. As long as you're not directly near him and keep him feared he will be easy to take down.

I enslaved him once and had him attack two Entropic Horrors. He died too quickly in that scenario, though. So I dropped and regained the quest and flame.
The next time I went up to him, though, without enslaving him - his health bar was displaying as though he were still enslaved. It made for a very quick and easy kill as Level 56 Demonology 'lock. My Felguard and I were both at about full health and mana at the end of the fight without having to use drain life, etc.

he is very easy to kill i just killed him with my 57 demonology lock. took me only like 15 sec. you dont have to think about anything special, just place the dots and 2-3 shadowbolts and he is dead.

This is a very easy fight since the infernal got to be nonelite and is no problem - he ISNT immune to fire dmg i soloed him at lvl 51 as any other mob

so, after reading these comments i though i might be in for a tough fight. i got my soulstone ready, i equiped a firestone to add some power, and settled in for a battle. i summon kroshius, and absolutely wrecked him! he was beyond easy to solo at 52! i dont see what the fuss was all about, he is easier to kill than all the 55 lvl demons in the previous quests, so no worries folks, and no need to group

I just soloed him with a my VW as a lvl 51...no enslave as he is lvl 55 and rank 2 only enslaves up to 54...used a healthstone and a healing pot and had no problems...(didnt have VW summoned cause i had sacrificed him-otherwise i wouldnt have needed either pot or stone)best of luck...enjoy

they must have nerfed him recently, because i just did him on my level 53 lock who is extremely well geared and he was signifcantly easier then the entropic beasts and horrors in the nearby area.

We took him down with a level 60 restoration druid and myself, a 50 affliction-ruin warlock. We just kept rooting him and nuking him while our dots ticked away at him. If he gets close to you, you're toast- he can punt you, and he hits for over 600 damage. He has no ranged attacks, so keep your distance and you'll be fine. As stated previously, he has LOTS of hp. Long battle. I'd suggest curse of shadow so your mana spent in shadow bolts will really count.

53 warlock, demonology spec. My felguard wasn't much use. It's a case of - make sure you have the best bandage you can use, a healthstone and the best potion you can use. Then it's just a case of fear, DoT, repeat. Use your wand to conserve mana. If you go uphill from him you can probably get him feared into the tree and he'll just run around on the spot. Don't let fear break, recast it early, feel free to life tap a lot, you've got all the health you need with bandage/healthstone/potion. You shouldn't even get hit once.

It's written Kroshius is lvl 53 to 55 does that mean he's lvl 53, 54, 55 or can be any of those? At what lvl can you fight him without him resisting all your spells?

I am an Affliction lock. Lev 51. I usually don't have much trouble with elites at or even a level or two above me. I tried to kill him three times today. Had help from a 52 rouge. It was ugly. He is very easy to fear and banish but he hits REALLY HARD. I did the best when I enslaved one of the roaming infernals (lev 52 elite) and we got him down to about 30% life. It was going pretty good. Then the enslave broke and I wasn't fast enough to get it back. We got squished. Kroshius seems to be underpowered for an elite of his level so I think once I hit 52 I should stand a much better chance. Definitely need another caster to help if you are not equal to his level. Another lock would be gravy since then we could have all kinds of pets beating on him. Now I need to go fix my damn armor.

PS.....he resisted my first two fears. After that the rest took just fine. Usually lasted for the full duration of the spell. He resisted my CoA once or twice but everything else was just fine.

Level 57, affliction based lock. The trick to soloing this guy is fear(of course) and shadow bolt spamming. Best pet for this is imp as a mana battery. Long fight though he's got thousands of hp

What happen if you didn't manage to kill kroshius during the time you summoned him? he's back to being a pile of rubble for me, i spent about 30 mins waiting for a friend to tank... and now... POOF! i'm a bit panicked now cause i don't know how to get him summoned up again!

I actually had a lvl 70 hunter help me with Kroshius, we spawned him (he yells: "Kroshius live? Kroshius crush!") and of course got him down, no real problems. But during the fight i noticed Kroshius hit my felguard... for 900+ dmg. OMG! How is that possible? Instant pyroblast or does he always hit like this? Wow after having seen that I begin to wonder how can a lvl 52 solo him. I mean fear and dot ok, but you ought to have him hit you a few times... and with 900 dmg per hit, well these few times will be more than enough.

I hit level 54 getting the last fel essence in felwood, went right over and downd him with no problems. currently my spec is 31/0/14, had my imp out for mana. He hits for around 650 and crits for over 1300, so be sure to chain fear and keep the dots up. got just under 2000k xp for the kill (was rested) and 7050xp for completing the quest. not too shabby

I did this at 54, solo. I enslaved an Infernal Bodyguard for help. I basically kept fearing Kroshius, I kept all my dots on him, and I let the Infernal Beat on him for extra DPS. I had the Infernal enslaved for about two minutes before I started the fight, and at about 10% it wore off. I banished the Infernal and just kept fearing Kroshius. As everyone else said, the key is fear, but I copied Rukku and decided to enslave an Infernal also. It works quite well, the Infernal Bodyguard was hitting for 200-300.

I did this at lvl 52 solo it was pretty easy imo. Just dot and fear, didnt really need curse of shadows since with the Suppression talent he stayed feared for a pretty good amount of time with each cast. Oh and I also enslaved an Infernal Sentry to help me damage him >:D muhahaha. Fight fire with fire, or in this case Infernal with Infernal.

I downed him @ 50 with 2 hunters (50, 51). We died the first two times (each time we died, he was standing right where we rezzed him). Fear kiting is the way to go. I let the hunters do most of the DPS, And Just used Curse of Exhaustion, Siphon Life and Corruption, and kept him feared anytime he got close to one of us. When we used this strategy, none of us got hit even once.

Just soloed him with one of the infernals. Only problem was that it didnt hold aggro... so i had fear, DoT, repeat. My infernal attacked like a succumbus with more armor. I dont recomend grabbing an infernal, instead just use your void and when it looses aggro chain fear.

I am having loads of trouble with this guy. I can usually solo elites up to two levels above me but he is killing my VW in three hits my battle chicken in two and me in two more. I keep trying to fear like the advice but he runs to far sometimes and he does a knockback when i get any closer allowing him two hits on any creature i use.

Tried this at 54,real close to 55.Tried all the tips above,but couldn't keep a pet alive.Almost took him without pet,but ran out of mana and options,and died for about the 5th time.Enslaved Immolatus,but by time i got back,Kros had vanished.So i dismissed and banished Immolatus and took break.Flew to Everlook,turned in another quest and hit lv55.Then I went back to impsy,got the quest again and grabbed Immolatus again.He took out Kros with little trouble,I just had to keep Kros feared as noted above to keep him off my ass.Once I looted Kros,I dismissed Immolatus,banished him and ran like hell.Not going to spoil the surprise,but the gnome gives you a lil challenge after you get new spell and item.Enjoy.

I guess you should abandon the quest and then take it back.

Soloed him being warlock 52 , Affliction-Dark Pact specced (and destruction).Was a long fight , but was pretty cool :-) Fear and DoT and try to cast Shadow Blot from Time to time.
This fight is long and you'll need Dark Pact if you try it being 55 or less IMO.To make it esaier just let your pet on passive , otherwise he'll just run all over the place trying to catch the feared inferno , thus not allowing you to smooth Dark Pact when you need it.
Died like 4 times before figuring the correct way to do it.He can knockback you so be aware , if he manages to do that then...you're in major trouble , as you cannot let him hit you more than twice.I suggest you save your cooldown potion timer for Mana pots rather than Health.Just use first aid and healthstone if you get low on HP.
Good luck , it might be tricky , but it's a cool challenge ;-)

easy kill, even though he is a 55 elite, i killed him at level 52 warlock. just get your felhunter to attack and cast health funnel the whole time. it will take a little while but in the end, it's worth it.

Easy soloed at level 52, just feared and dotted. Don't chase him let him run back then fear again and refresh dots.

He will sometimes knock you up in the air doing a decent amount of damage then start attacking your pet, just fear him again and heal up if you need while he runs off.

Soloed this at lvl 53. I had my voidwalker out and had him fight Kroshius for a few seconds. He got my voidwalker down to pretty low health in about 4 hits (he attacks pretty slow, though). Before my Voidwalker could die, I used Demonic Embrace for the 3%hp4 and I just kept him feared. This was a lot easier than I thought it would be. He never touched me. Demonic Embrace was enough to keep my health high enough to continually lifetap and have enough mana to keep dots up and feared and I even got in a soulfire and a shadowbolt. I never had to bandage or use a health stone.
