Simply not worth it if you are looking on the stats of the other blue gems. Buff it to 15 penetration and it might be worth it.

This gem can be very effective when used by warlocks in arenas. With a good amount of penetration you are able to avoid the SR bonuses of SL/SL locks felhound, or the Shadow Protection buff. Very handy when trying to get off a fear or if you're going against a team that stacks SR.

Spell penetration means that when you shoot a spell at that person, it lowers their resistance to everything.

So if the target were to have 50 fire resistance, your spell will act as if the target only had 40 fire resistance.

Anyone know why this says trade goods while all other gems are called 'gems'?

This info is valid on March 22nd 2007, but (I'd presume) it will be fixed in a patch later on.

At least for me, this item goes into "Trade Goods" instead of "Gems" in jewelcraft skills list, so don't get alarmed if it seems you didn't get it after studying the design.

The design just droped for me on Spinbreaker the other day. What do you all feel the gem and Design are worth?....never seen it before and no one I know seems to know what to do with it.
