If you follow a weapon progression, this would be step 2 after a Mageblade. If you guild goes into Naxx, a Wraith Blade is step 3.

Well, I will say this right now. I am a 60 warlock and I FIRMLY believe this weapon is both for mages and for warlocks. One thing though, if we want to be idiots and use the logic mages use when things like Azuresong Mageblade and Staff of Dominance drop, then this would go to Warlocks, no doubt. Every time either of those drops, a mage feels they have a right to this weapon before a warlock because of the intellect... You're kidding right? There aren't ENOUGH good weapons for casters at this level to distinguish who gets what weapon. So using THEIR (the mages) logic on previously dropping items, this should go to a Warlock.

Anyhow, this was just to prove a point. You mages really need to stop complaining when a Lock gets Azuresong or Dominance before you get one... They are BOTH Warlock and Mage weapons, as is this one. Who gives a crap about the slight difference in stamina or intellect? You are right, it would profit a warlock bore then it would a mage, but it is still definately for both of them considering how good it is.

ALSO, people who feel +crit is better for mages.. what are you, an idiot? LoL mages don't have on their talent tree ANYTHING like warlocks do regarding +crit. If a warlock crits, they have a 20% increast in shadow damage 4 the next 4 shadowbolts! Of course crit is more important for a warlock! HIT, as you can see in the MAGE talent tree, is more important for a mage as for when they hit, more abilities that can stack activate.

Nonetheless, point is both mages have equal say in getting this as a warlock. ANY other class... you have to be JOKING about taking what is one of the best weapons for a lock/mage just as an upgrade.. you get much better... now shoo lol

Commentaire de Thottbot

Why do you idiots argue? It's a mage/warlock weapon, if any of you were in a guild that could actually have a chance of seeing this you would know that.

Commentaire de Thottbot

How bout this, its a good weapon for all damage dealing casters that can use main handed swords. That work for everyone?

Commentaire de Thottbot

and follow their guild loot policies
oh wait my bad none of the noobs here are actually in guilds which raid aq lol sry!

Commentaire de Thottbot

I'm officer of mages in my guild. And... what is that crap with SoD, Mageblade is a mage item? Both clases benefit the same, and stop that %^&* with- it has more int, so it's better for mages, or- crit is better for lock. Both classes are welcome to bid on it.
Last night it droped for us, and a lock just burned all his DKP to outbid me. He was happy, i was happy for him.
Btw- for naxx/aq40 many mages spec fire and take master of element, which grants 30% gain of spells mana that crit. So, it's a mage item again. Yoohoo! :D

Look at the stats.

Commentaire de Thottbot

I agree with the the above comment, except that Paladins can not use Daggers, so Paladins have no access to the Grand Marshal/High Warlord dagger that has almost the exact same stats as this weapon, except for +1 Int more.

Mages, Warlocks, this message is for you: This is a Paladin Weapon because you can easily get something equal or better, while Paladins only have access to this. Don't be greedy.

Femur also refers to the similar part of the leg of an insect, bone or no.

Next up, Wirt's Third Leg :)

Commentaire de Allakhazam

Until bliz creates a pally weapon similar to the Fang of Korialistraz (Croc de Korialstrasz which is a $#%()* dagger, this is the best main hand out there for a healing paladin. So all you casters make sure you support us pallies while we continue to ask for a main hand designed for us. That way we can let you guys have this one :).

Taking the average frostbolt of a mage with such ability to get this to be about 1,000 (assuming he has the new rank11 frostbolt)

Changing your +hit values and +crit values into equiv +dam values, assuming your crit is around 15-20%, gives you +crit to be around 11 +dam and +hit to be around +13 dam, this is because frostbolt gets 80% of +dam, for fireball it would be different, I'm not going to go into why, it's to do with you have to hit to crit. There is a lot more to take into account than this, but this is a good starting point.

This gives you values for each Femur+OH and Qiraji Acolyte Staff. Femur + OH is around +127 dam and 16 int, 24 stam. Staff is around +113, 33 int and 32 stam. This means the difference is +14dam in favour of the Femur + OH and +17 int +8 stam. This means it's totally a preferance thing.

Sum up: Prefer +14 dam (10-11 damage each frostbolt) or +17 int +8stam.

Personally I want the stats but I was always a bit of a mana @#$%^ ^^

Commentaire de Allakhazam

Omg, just looking over the new loot from the Aq 40 boss's and saw the paladin gloves, and now saw this sword.... all i can say is: OMFG GIEF!.

Commentaire de Allakhazam

This + Royal Scepter of Vek'Lor = Best combo possible at the moment.

Also: How many Viscidus kills in total have there been? Just wondering why it took so long to drop. Hope the droprate isn't too terrible.

Commentaire de Allakhazam

Wait a second... A femur is a leg bone. Silithids are insects. Insects don't have bones. Whose leg is this! =O

Also, here is a shot of it being weilded by an undead mage in full Netherwind, with the Royal Scepter of Vek'Lor. Femur doesn't match at all. :p

Commentaire de Allakhazam

This weapon drops off Vicidious in AQ40, hopefully one will drop for us tonight.

Commentaire de Allakhazam

Hmm they have changed the icon.
