This quest is one of the five ICC Weekly Raid quests that were released along with Patch 3.3.2 (Others are listed here).

It can be picked up from an NPC that emerges from the elevator after you clear the first pull after Lady Deathwhisper. It is also later turned into the same NPC after completion.

To complete the quest, you continue to clear the trash after Deathwhisper, but instead of boarding the gunship after you defeat the bone dragon, you keep clearing the trash past him. Eventually you will see a large frost giant patrolling the back side of the spire.

Clear enough trash that you have plenty of room to move around during the fight.

Before pulling, arrange your ranged (DPS/healers) so that each player has a partner they are stacked on top of, and each pair of players are at least 10 yards apart. This is due to the Death Plague debuff that the frost giant gives.

During the fight, the frost giant will periodically (~20 seconds) cast death plague on one random player from the raid (3 on 25 man?). 15 seconds after the buff is applied, it will cause 8k damage to any nearby players. However, if there are no players within range of the player with the debuff when it expires, that player will instantly die. Any players that are in range of the debuff when it expires will also gain Death Plague, and the player that the buff was transferred from will gain Recently Infected, making them immune to Death Plague for the next 35 seconds.

The frost giant will also frequently cast a knockback that tosses everyone about 20 yards into the air.

Make sure that the healers are prepared to heal any player that is in range of the plague when it expires, and this mini-boss suddenly becomes very easy.

The Sack of Frosty Treasures contains 5 x Emblem of Frost and approximately 10 gold.

This boss is zergable. You can have people who have died for whatever reason release and run in. Just tell everyone to stop releasing once you are under a certain health threshold; we used about 4 million on 25 man. It's possible someone outside might still get credit for the kill, as we had one guildmate who was outside when the kill happened, DC'd, came back during gunship, and noticed that he had received credit.

Slightly bugged at the moment

If you accept the quest one day then not do it until the next day the quest giver will despawn. We just finished it today after having accepted it yesterday but are unable to turn it in because the quest giver is not there anymore.

So be sure to do the quest the same day you accept it!

2010/02/06 Edit: Fixed! You can now turn in the quest at the beginning of the raid where the armor vendors are.

There's a simple way to do this on 10 man that reduces how much movement needs to be done and makes the fight very simple. The immunity lasts 30 seconds, and the plague lasts 15 seconds. This means that if one person has the disease, the person he passes it to has to pass to another person before the original can recieve the disease again. You'll have 3 sets of 3 players, one set being the 2 tanks and a healer, one set being 3 melee DPS, one set being ranged + healers, and one extra person just in case. If one person in a set gets the plague, he will pass it to the next person in the set, then the set of 3 can stack on each other, and the disease will be effectively quarantined.

To give an example, we had a set of a warrior, rogue, and ret paladin. The warrior got it first, so he and the rogue went out at range so only the rogue would get the debuff next. When the rogue got it, the warrior, rogue, and paladin stacked behind the mini-boss and stayed there for the rest of the fight. One person will be diseased, then before the disease needs to be passed, one person's immunity will have dropped while the other is still immune. The disease will just be passed amongst the three of them for the rest of the encounter, no more effort needed. With this set up, you can juggle up to 3 diseases amongst three sets.

If the extra person gets the disease, he should pass it to one person of the nearest set not juggling a disease.

EDIT: This was written before I knew that the disease simply dies as long as someone's in range, even if they're immune. Well, it's a fun exercise at least.

It's still not possible to hand the quest in after the instance reset on wednesday. If you forget to hand it in ultimately on tuesday the game appears to be unforgiving and leaves you with a completed quest but NO quest giver to hand in your completed quest.

[As if this place weren't enough of a madhouse to begin with, we're fighting a war on two fronts up here, with the Scourge on one side and those blasted Alliance dogs on our other flank!

We are here to clear a safe landing for our vessels, but a behemoth of a giant on the other side of the Ramparts is hurling debris at anything that comes close and keeping our smaller ships at bay.

I'll be honest -- he's a bit much for us to handle, but you and your companions look up to the task.]
