Patch 7.1 Preview: Leveling Ability Changes, Reputation and Talon's Vengeance, and World Quest Updates

Patch 7.1 not only features exciting group and solo content, but also some quality of life improvements to existing parts of the game! This post examines changes to leveling abilities, reputation additions and the possible new faction Talon's Vengeance, as well as more World Quests to speed up reputation grinds.
Leveling Ability Flow
In classic WoW, gaining new abilities as you leveled up felt like a big accomplishment. Everyone looked forward to returning to the trainer for a signature ability at level 40.
The current leveling flow of WoW in 7.0 is a bit different, with signature abilities acquired early on like
Mutilar
at level 1, which can be overwhelming for new players and take the excitement out of leveling.
In Patch 7.1, the leveling ability flow has changed once again. Players have fewer abilities at very low levels, with important ones unlocked at level 20, 40, and 50. There is always something new to look forward to!
Using Rogues as an example, in Patch 7.1 you will start off with
Golpe siniestro
as your combo-point generator at Level 1. If you stick with the Assassination spec, you will replace that ability with
Mutilar
at level 40.
As part of introducing important abilities at levels 20, 40, and 50, some abilities have reshuffled their levels:
Some examples using well-known abilities:

is now available at 20, down from 46,

is now available at 20 up from 10,

is now available at 20 down from 40.
Some abilities acquired at low levels take on additional complexity at higher levels with new Ability Ranks:
For example,
Explosión de Fuego
is an instant-cast ability acquired at level 3. Rank 2, acquired at level 14, makes Fire Blast always crit. Rank 3, acquired at level 48, gives Fire Blast 2 charges. The end result with all three Ranks is unchanged from how the ability works on live servers, but for a player leveling, the benefits are spread out.
We've updated our leveling guides for new players with the ability changes. If you want to dig into further detail, you can browse our database spell pages by going to Database > Spells > Specialization and then clicking on the spec you prefer. (Note you will have to use the PTR database to see the changes until 7.1 goes live.)

Muffinus has dropped some tweets
about this faction, but it remains shrouded in mystery on the PTR without any breadcrumb quests, and a new vendor,
Abalorio
, who has nothing to sell by Aviana in Highmountain.

The description is: Heal 100% of maximum health and become an avenger of Aviana. While transformed, you are hostile to all players, and killing players grants Marks of Prey. Can only be used in falcosaur and PvP World Quest areas, and flags the user for PvP. (15 Min Cooldown)

players can purchase

: Eat the leaf, restoring 10% of maximum health every 2 sec. for 30 sec. Only usable in Broken Isles. (3 Min Cooldown)

Friendly
players can purchase

: Build a nest that allows resting and lasts for 5 min. If you spend at least 5 seconds resting you will become well-rested and gain 3% to all stats for 1 hour. Can only be used in Broken Isles. (5 Min Cooldown)

. It can be used in Battlegrounds and Ashran.

, a trinket with the Use effect: Increases chance to deal and take a Critical Strike by 50% for 15 sec. Only usable in Falcosaur and PvP World Quest areas. (3 Min Cooldown)

, a recolor of the Blood Elf racial mounts like

World Quest Updates
There are new World Quests related to Helya and the Helarjar. These can spawn all over the Broken Isles and will award reputation with the faction specific to that zone, as well as the Valarjar. Examples:
Desembarco Helarjar: Costa Roca Lejana
and
Desembarco Helarjar: Marisma Gris
There are a number of World Quests added to Suramar, including

. These grant 250 reputation, making them a step up from the existing Suramar quests which award less reputation.

PvP World Quests now show the amount of Honor rewarded, and Dungeon World Quests have a new graphic.
