Oglethorpe is not giving me the quest this quest for Gnomish Engineering. My Engineering is at 225/300 and I am level 43. Does anyone have any ideas?

alrite, im lvl 40 240/300 eng. gnomish eng. and i cant figure out hwo to reach 300, i tryed to talk to the guy on BB but all he did was offer me to renu my card or train, but when i went to train there was nothing in therefor me to train, so im kinfof cofused. can anyone help me?

I already had the membership to this mastery engineering in booty bay. But I had only managed to get the new schematics when i paid the first time, and i was told by the gnome that there will be new schematics as long as i hold on to the membership pass, which expires in 14 days, Unfortunately after learning all the new ones, there doesnt seems to be anymore. Do I have to pay another 2 gold before the membership expires to get the new schematics or it is just because i had learn all the schematics the gnome can teach? Pls help!

Im a lvl 43 and a lvl 265 ebgineer but he wont give me any quests. He just talks to me about how i helped him on that homing device quest. Do i have to be a 47 or what i can even get some one on the game to help me out. I dont even know what this card thing is. plz help!

Here's a small guide to getting Gnomish engineering for Horde:

- Get 225 engineering
- Get Artisan (225-300) engineering in Gadgetzan, from the house next to the teleporter
- Get the quest to learn Gnomish engineering from the master engineer in Ratchet (the first house on the hill)
- Go to Booty bay and speak to the engineer. He is in the 1st house on the right, as you go up the ramp from the hanging shark. Before you reach the roof.

As for levelling engineering, I would recommend getting mining for levels 1-150. And keep a lot of Mithril, Solid Stone, Coarse stone as you'll need lots of it for levelling. Avoid the complex recipes requiring 4 items, just stick to those that need 2.

There is one goblin guy near mailbox in gadgetzan, he will give you ARTISAN engineering about 5g i think. and he will teach you other neat engineer objects. have fun <(^.^)>

My alt (horde side) had Goblin engineering skill just over 300. I recently decided to change to Gnomish. My Goblin membership card I destroyed. I abandoned the engineering profession and relearned it. Currently at level 48 with engineering skill at 225. I am unable to choose between Goblin or Gnomish.

Am I stuck being a Goblin engineer or is there a way to become a Gnomish engineer?

ETA: I went to Tanaris and saw the master engineer, paying the required 5g.

im level 20 and im a u=bit dis apointed that i have top wait till level 30 till i can go pass 225 and im on 193 already and its only been like 2 days do i rearly have to wait to 30 or can i get it with just a high engineering level?

You are not able to change, unless that you remove engineering and take it again

This quest actually starts in Rachet from a goblin, not a gnome, behind the bank.

I was a goblin engineer and alot of people told me that u cant change from goblin to gnomish (incuding thottbot) even if u unlearned the skill, this is wrong u can change.. I unlearned engineering and restarted it, then @ 225 i went to gadgetzan and spoke to the master goblin engineer. If you read what he says he mentions a book at steamwheedle port that will teach you what u've forgotten, he also gave option to renew current membership (goblin).. I didnt renew, instead I went to steamwheedle port opened the book he mentioned and it gave 2 choices:

I am 100% sure i wanna be gnomish
I am 100% sure i wanna be goblin

i chose gnomish

To get Gnomish engineering you talk to the guy in Ratchet, Tinkerwiz and after you have 200 engineering he'll show 2 quests when you talk to him. 1 is called Gnome Engineering and the other Goblin engineering. If you choose Gnome you have to read a manual then talk to a gnome in Booty Bay named Oglethorpe Obnoctious. He makes you sign a pledge then give him 6 Mithril Tube, 1 Accurate Scope, And 2 Advanced Target Dummy.
Then you get a Gnomish Engineering Membership Card.

This is easy. IF you are horde, go to Rathchet, talk to the Enginering trainer in the observartory..thingy. Then take the Goblin Enginering quest. Then go to the guy in Bootybay and you will be on your way.

I found this trainer (gnomish) on the top floor in Booty Bay. I don't know why it says Stranglethorn Vale.

to be gnomish u need 2 do all quests with robot chickens (in tanaris and ferals, maybe other dunno where)

Fair warning for other fellow Dummies playing Classic WoW:

Completing one of the The Pledge of Secrecy quests and then not completing one of the Show Your Work quests locks the player out from switching their Engineering specialisation. Even if you unlearn Engineering and then re-level it, you will still be offered the same Show Your Work quest as before.

Book "Soothsaying for Dummies" will not offer to switch your specialisation because the game doesn't consider you to have one in the first place.
The Game Masters will not help you with this problem. Believe me, I've tried.

To be eligible for this quest you must be at least level 30 and have your engineering skill 200+. To pick up this quest chain you need to have completed Gnomeningenieurskunst (which is picked up in Undercity from Graham Van Talen) or Gnomeningenieurskunst (which is picked up in Ratchet from Tüftelwiz). Once you completed Gnome Engineering you will be able to see this quest in Booty Bay.
