Currently, these yeti have an ability called Ice Blast, a 3 second stun. Whether or not this is a bug I'm not sure, but they can use it while they're stunned or incapacitated. I've had them hit me with it after i gouge so that I can't get behind them to mutilate before gouge wears off. I've had tem hit me with it during a kidney shot so I can't get the second mutilate off. I'm fairly certain it's not an on-hit/on-damage, because its even happened while they were gouged and my autoattack was off. They also seem to be using it while casting (IE during the casting of the Patriarch version's Frost Breath). They can even use it while you're standing behind them. So if you're a rogue... be prepared for a frustrating fight.

These have frost resistance. I'm a frost mage and I found much better results using fire and arcane spells.

Used for the quest https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=3783, where you have to kill those guys and get fur from them. Droprate is pretty lame.
There might not be so many of these where Wowhead says they are but at the right side of Everlook on the map there is a little cave and if you go there you enter Ice Thistle Hills where there are plenty of those and the mobs needed for the follow-up https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=977

As a mage my frost spells gets resisted alot but not my fire spells it seems. I've had a lot of resists with frost but not even one with fire yet.
So I recommend using fire against these.

This spot is absolutely great for farming rugged leather.(the cave) Me, as a level 60 blood elf paladin got alot rugged leather, thick leather and decent greens.
Little bit of what I got. Ofcourse on all the servers are other prices, this is blade's edge.

I would say it's around 300-350g...ish an hour if you got a good killing speed. Would also recomend level 60+

You can skill on these and the nearby higher level yetis up to 375, and I definitely got the impression that it went faster than going to TBC and skilling there.

These are one of the most annoying creatures. They do #$%^ damage but the freeze you every 2 hits. And the quest for the thick yeti furs is about a 2% drop.

These guys are good if you need to farm for rugged leather. Just about every skinning drop I got was a rugged leather.

if you're not that lvl or lw don't try for rugged. lvl 70 mage cleared cave and out front 3 times with not 1 drop.

WTF BLIZZARD ive kileld like 800 of these guys and only gotten like the t6 chestpeice for rogue and others but only 3 FURS TOALEY WTF

How do people farm these things since they're so spread out?

Ok, I've been killing these guys a lot for the past few days once I heard about them and wanted to shed some light on what I've learned.

Yes, they are a skinnable humanoid which makes them fairly unique in this regard. What this means is that they drop coin (1-9s, on average 5s) and usually nothing else (no cloth).

They also CANNOT be pickpocketed. As a rogue, this is a big letdown.

Then they can be skinned for what seems 70% rugged leather and 30% thick.

They have average green and blue drops compared to other mobs, but have a low grey and white count. This means your bags will rarely get full of anything but leather and the occasional wicked claw (which stacks in 5's). It also means don't be counting on a lot of 1g+ greys you can vender off these guys.

This is easily the best place to farm leather as you will have your bags filled with them.

They are moderatley easy to kill, plentiful in the cave and respawn so fast, that you can have 2-3 people constanly farming this place and never run out.

They have an ability to freeze you for 3 seconds, acts just like a stun, and seems to be on a proc per hit not somehting they actually cast. Meaning even if you have them stunned, it'll proc on you while you're hitting them. But if you have them gouged and not atacking you're save. This is more of an annoyance than anythingn and can freeze you at strange times while you'ren attacking and looks kind of funny.

Whether they're worth farming or not depends entirely on yoru server's economy. On mine, rugged leather are selling under 2g a stack and thick under 1.2g so this is NOT a good money maker. In fact I'm likely to drop skinning because of the fact I sometimes have to resort to vendering my leather and cutting my profits in half.

These yetis have a very high magic resist. Fire, frost and arcane all seem to be able to be resisted regularly, even my nature damage wand was being resisted. 4-5 resists in a row isn't fun as a frost mage.

55% drop rate on Thick yeti fur for the quest? should be changed to 1%, it literally never drops.
