Near the Funggor Cavern it's littered with these Sporelok, You cannot attack them as they are from the Sporeggar. They are fighting the Marsh Lurkers and Marsh Dredger.

I was using them to solo Lord Klaq. Wait till they spawn and attack him and adds, and just go for Lord Klaq.

I'm hostile with the Sporeggar now and when I kill them I have no option to loot their bodies. Am I doing something wrong or is this item drop info bunk?

is there any reason to raise your rep with them? and if so is there a better place to do it?

yes, you can earn rep with them, in west zangarmarsh they have their own village with a large number of Quests to be taken, theres a Quartermaster there too and yer can get their tabard when ur exalted with them :D
